Hi Guys, In this vlog I'm taking my narrowboat across a river! I purchased an anchor before I went and I'm very glad I have one onboard! In this vlog I show how to setup and anchor and explain why its important to have one. I hope you enjoy! Kayleigh I'm Kayleigh and along with my two dogs Hugo and Coco we will full time on board our 37ft narrowboat Grayswood. After living nearly two years in our self-converted campervan we decided we needed more space. So we decided to purchase a boat after spending some time on our friend’s narrowboat. Grayswood was conveniently located less that 5 minutes from my work and was found kind of by accident. I was visiting a friend who was staying in Aston Marina and whilst we were out walking the dogs, I seen the advert for Grayswood. I said to my friend “that looks a nice boat” and as I said it the marina manager appeared and asked if we would like a look inside. Naturally we did. After looking inside the boat, we made an offer after going back for a second viewing, after some negotiations within a week she was ours pending a survey. She was hauled out the following week and the survey went well. We kept her out on the hard standing for a further six weeks whilst we renovated the insides including fitting a new kitchen and bathroom. After all the relaxation in the last days and weeks, it's time to do something completely crazy! Our destination for today is 622m above sea level, Mount Pahia on Bora Bora! For months we have been relaxing on the Tuamotus and hardly moved, but animated by the promise of a delicious dinner on SY Yumyum, we set out to enjoy the incredible view from the second highest mountain on Bora Bora. For experienced climbers certainly a piece of cake, for us an absolute challenge. The first 2 hours there is no real path, when the markings start we are not sure if we really want it. On ropes we pull ourselves up to the summit, just in time the clouds come and the visibility gets worse and worse, but we enjoy the feeling of happiness to have arrived at the top! What a view! After a favourable weather window appeared for crossing the Atlantic, we got down to business and put a hold on exploring Bermuda. The day arrived and we headed out into beautiful sailing conditions. Despite the fantastic weather, we were both feeling a little nervous as a result of our last disastrous Atlantic Ocean crossing attempt... to say that we were a bit on edge was an understatement! But the days seem to slip by with only a few minor noises and groans to concern us with. By day 4, we were used to them and had slipped into a good routine. They're not the transverse ones which will split up our living space, but instead they are bulkheads 2 & 3, which divide up some of the storage in the forward hulls. In this episode we are anchored near a village called Foreland on Epi Island, Vanuatu. We are enjoying time with Kris’s mum and dad onboard and have a few interesting developments occur while they’re with us. We meet a guy called Malakai who needs a rope for his cow, we nearly loose the drone and we have a terrible poo problem… this stuff can’t be scripted, nor can we say it was planned for when we were somewhere remote with guests onboard but such is the sailing adventure. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

L’île de Chunguu, connu sous différents noms, l’île aux tortues, l’île prison, bref, une splendide découverte. Quel ne fut pas notre étonnement en voyant ces monstrueuses tortues, ce fut juste grandiose. Et le reste de l’île aussi, la prison, qui n’a jamais accueilli de prisonniers 😂, mais qui a été utilisée pour mettre les navigateurs en quarantaine lors de leurs arrivée à zanzibar. Nous vous partageons aussi nos différents petits travaux à bord. Et avons involontairement posé Javerne sur les rochers lors d’une marée basse imprévue.
