Getting struck by lightning is one of our greatest fears at sea. We are surrounded by thunderstorms when finally our luck runs out and one comes too close. Hi again! Im proud to partner up with Oscar Navigation wich let me try their Oscar Advanced 640 anticollision thermo camera! This thing can detect objects in the sea in front of you wich a conventional radar can not. When it "sees" something it uses Artificial Intelligence to decide what the object is, then sound an alarm to let you take action. Im amazed that this opurtunity popped up just before my departure for Greenland, were big icebergs are floating around right now. The Oscar will hopefully detect these and give me a heads up, especially at night. Finally, her siblings got their own jobs and she decided to join Jamie on Jupiter² and go sailing. It was a wild decision for her because she had never sailed before. In this episode, we learn how to pump out the holding tanks, as we make a night passage from Tahiti to the island of Huahine. We visit a beach, toss some spears and get chased around by a swimming pig, and celebrate Canada Day and Joshua's completion of another school year. We leave Croker Island and head to the Cobourg Peninsula. We check out the Black Point Ranger Station and take the billabong walk, before heading down to the site of the Victoria Settlement, established 1838 and disbanded 1849. It was built after a plan of the British government and the East India Company to set up a military settlement and a re-victualling point for shipping through Torres Strait. We then head to Alcaro Bay at the very western tip of the Coburg Peninsula in preparation for our crossing of Van Diemen's Gulf into Darwin. #seawind1260 #coburgpeninsula

Highlights of what happened globally in the sport of Sailing in the last 7 days. Like, Subscribe Hit Bell for Updates. First some news, the SAIL GP in Christchurch New Zealand, has been cancelled due to the pandemic, and in Australia the pandemic is raging. The Sydney Sail GP event is in December, close to the Rolex Sydney Hobart Race. They both are looking shaky if the numbers of effected do not drop dramatically. In this week's show we had a look at the huge, 140 foot Club Swan 125, from Juan K who naturally blitzed the recent ROLEX Fastnet Race Fleet. The 44 Fleet moved into Cowes, and had a competitive event there. We have coverage of Days 1, 2 and the finals on Day 4. The first season of the Pro Sailing Tour ended after a five-and-a-half day sail in the closing offshore leg of the race. Sam Goodchild and his crew are crowned winners of this series of the Tour. They came out on top after finishing the final leg of the race — a 1650-mile-long stretch of water, from Toulon to Brest. On Lake Garda the WASP European Games were held, and Britain Matt Beck came out on top after five days of heavy competition. The event was transferred to Garda from Norway for the usual health reasons. Our coverage is Day 2, and the final day. In North Queensland Australia, the Air-lee Beach Race Week had around 80 boats registered, and Day One was a blinder. One cat lasted TWO MINUTES, before is was hit by a huge gust and it pitch poled, ending upside down. Just as well the beer was still flowing. The Boys and Girls of the Dutch Foiling Team were out again practicing. And they are getting very good at foiling. Franck and Charles take us on-board their big maxi trimaran Edmund De Rothschild, the ROLEX Fastnet Line Honours winner. So hang on, they averaged above 21 knots for the full race. Then to finish, we have the finals of the 44Cup Cowes and the European Wasp's on Lake Garda.

Un autre site touristique nous séduit également, Trollstigen, l'échelle des Trolls, nous offre une vue spectaculaire sur cette route impressionnante tant dans sa difficulté de construction que sa beauté ! Les montagnes tels des pics dominent cet endroit de passage, une connexion total avec la nature s'envisage dans ce désert de roches, cours d'eau et lacs ! Well, the bimini construction is progressing but there's not much to see on the boat from it as yet! The concept is certainly complete and steelwork is being made, but the real snag is fitting, sealing and painting the mounting pads in between the rain showers... This is the story of the building of a Jay Benford designed, 31.8ft, junk schooner-rigged cruising sailboat. The videos are a week-by-week record of the build as it progresses and aim to show as much detail as possible of the various aspects of the build.
