This week we finally get to explore the beautiful Raroia atoll in the tuamotos, French Polynesia. We dingy to the beach and discover an absolute paradise. It’s just us and our two other buddy boats that are here, otherwise we are completely by ourselves. But ouch! The corals are bad on the island, Kieran can’t stand it so he manages to get a hold of a “new” pair of shoes (I am very skeptical). I show off my best “reef walk” as I try to keep up with Kieran. He finally has had enough and starts to carry me instead... Back on the boat we start to tackle the broken hydrovane. Kieran goes more in-depth what actually happened and is actually glad it happened the way it did. We join our forces and after a while it’s back to 100%. Just another day in paradise! Join our crew! Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. In questo terzo episodio partiamo da Paxos per il Sud... ma dove ci dirigiamo? Beh, sicuramente dobbiamo passare Lefkas e quindi vi racconto di come arrivare ed attraversare il canale di Lefkas, della Santa Maura, la chiatta ponte di ferro che collega la terra all'isola di Lefkas. Marina vi racconta esattamente come comportarsi in dirittura di arrivo del ponte. Per gli spostamenti diurni abbastanza lunghi bisogna organizzarsi abbastanza bene con i ragazzi altrimenti si stufano e quindi giochi in scatola, scherzi e libri game. Arriviamo a Ormos Varko, la spiaggia del Grano. Notte in rada e alla ripartenza vento zero... Formikoula è un'isola deserta dove mi sarebbe piaciuto girare un mio programma ma scopriamo che ad Agosto non è così deserta! Un pò di pesca alla traina ma con scarsi risultati. Amici che troviamo per strada e amici misteriosi che ci salutano ma che non conosciamo! Un pò di programmazione sul portolano. Intanto ci fermiamo a Kastos in rada e i nostri vicini sono i reali di Spagna. Incontriamo le famose capre selvatiche e le riprendiamo mentre saltano e provocano frane. Un pò di come cucinare zuppa di fagioli patate e cipolle e insalata di foglie di capperi. Ripartiamo da Kastos e ripartiamo Astakos! Al prossimo episodio! Ma non sono solo rose e fiori, albe e tramonti dorati, pesca alla traina, big catch, dormite sotto le stelle, belle veleggiate e mangiate da re... c'è anche il rovescio della medaglia in barca a vela. E che rovescio! Come tutti gli armatori ben sanno possedere una barca è un onere mica male sia a livello di tempo che economico. Proprio per questo motivo chi vive in barca cerca sempre di fare quanti più lavori in solitaria riesce da veri liveaboard. Ma ci vuole tempo e spesso le parti nuove costano lo stesso molto. En voilier, c’est presque impossible de suivre un plan surtout en ce moment… On termine les dernières préparations en vitesse et on quitte la Martinique ! Dentro de la travesía organizada con motivo de la conmemoración del V Centenario de la I Circunnavegación a Vela, la estancia en Sevilla era una de las actividades programadas. Guadalquivir, calor, la esclusa, el Puente de las Delicias y atracar en el Club Náutico de Sevilla ha sido de las experiencias más sorprendente y gratificante.
