It’s understandable that with the end of the SailGP 2021-22 season in sight and a $1million dollar race just a few months away at the San Francisco finale, that the action should ramp up with the Australia SailGP event in Sydney. There was also no doubting that the pressure was on. Local hero Tom Slingsby needed to prove that he wasn’t going to suffer the humiliating defeat that Ainslie had inflicted last time that the British were here. Fellow Australian Nathan Outteridge was out to prove that he wasn’t just a light wind whisperer. Phil Robertson needed to demonstrate that he could deliver more than headlines for controversial behaviour and prove that he was worthy of a seat for next season. With Olympic medals and 'that Cup' win the Kiwis had to demonstrate that they could run with the big dogs, while the French had to prove that the changes the team had made would get them off the bottom rung of the ladder. And so the list went on. Yet, even with all this season intel and the pressures that lay behind the scenes, nobody predicted the way that this regatta played out. I came to Switzerland with the bare minimum. I was coming to get hip replacement surgery and then would need to stay and recover. Part of my speedy recovery would be to walk. Warren has been working so hard on so many projects and upgrades on the boat. It's the middle of the summer in Mexico and he is installing new solar panels, re-wiring power lines, working in small tight spaces and starting to feel the heat, meanwhile I (Erica) am back home in the mountains of Colorado working on editing videos.. or so Warren thinks so! We finally reunite after a month of being apart, our longest time apart since getting together. We spend our remaining summer months in Colorado with family and friends and yes, Warren has some fun too after all his hard work. It has been a total of 6 months that we haven't slept in our own bed or been in our own space and now we are both very much looking forward to finally making VA our home! Le pilote nous a encore une fois fait des siennes et nous avons été forcé de rejoindre la marina de Mindelo au Cap Vert après 8 jours de navigation dont 6 jours où nous avons subi des vents violents 25 30 noeuds avec des rafales allant jusqu'à 36 noeuds. Nous n'étions donc pas mécontents de faire cette escale qui a durée 6 jours pour reprendre notre route direction Guyane.

Come se il tempo si fosse fermato a cinquant'anni fa. Ma le Kerkennah sono anche terra d'emigrazione.
