Over the last months, we and our team frequently found ourselves discussing what we missed most about sailing. It soon became apparent that we were suffering from a general sensory nostalgia. We yearned for the sound of the sea breeze, the feeling of wind as it pulls the sail, the sense of utter freedom once the boat picks up speed. We craved all of that and more. We decided to put our nostalgia to good use by creating #Trustyoursenses video, a little cinematic tribute to the sensory magic of sailing. Now that travel is possible again, it has become a celebration of those simple pleasures that we will never again take for granted. Watch it, get inspired, start sailing. With over 25 years of experience in the world of sailing, the crew behind sailing school Orza Minore has been able to create a unique model on the sailing scene, based on the love for this sport and geared towards sharing the technique to both the beginner and the advanced sailor. Orza Minore is one of the main sailing schools in Italy, operating mainly in Dervio on Lake Como. The crew is not just about lake sailing, as they often head south towards more open waters, in Liguria and Sardinia. Orza Minore deals with sailing at 360°, from beginner courses for children and adults to the more technique-driven classes for competitive teams. What makes Orza a special learning environment is the passion of its sailing instructor like Martino, passionate about sailing for 13 years now. You can read the full interview with Martino in the first issue of our digital magazine Magister Navis here: https://sailogy.com/en/magazine Enjoy the read!

Sailing into Bonifacio is definitely a breathtaking experience. You enter through a narrow passage with cliffs on either side. Truly an incredible sailing journey. Omero Moretti, life-long sailor with a profound knowledge of this area, describes sailing across the Strait of Bonifacio as follows: “here the wind is the master: you can see it in the landscape, in the purest colors, in the molded rocks, in the low scrub that climbs on the stones, you can feel it in the air and in the scents. Often it is because of the sudden changes in the wind direction that this part of the Mediterranean has a tricky reputation. But it's a beautiful navigation, challenging and definitely exciting.” In this video we follow Omero in some of the most topical sailing moments in South Corsica. This video is part of an article on sailing in South Corsica. Zi Antò is perfectly situated in a small peninsula between two bays: one sheltered from the westerly wind and the Mistral and the other one sheltered from the Levanter, easterly wind and from the Sirocco, the south-easterly wind. The restaurant is simply perfect to reach by boat as you’ll be able to anchor in the peninsula and have your lunch or evening stop as if it was the extension of your boat deck! Particularly recommended a visit here at sunset. This video is part of an article on Zi Antò's restaurant and Sardinian recipes. You can read the full ain article and learn a few tricks on Sardinian cuisine in the first issue of our digital magazine Magister Navis here: https://sailogy.com/en/magazine Enjoy the read!

The Ionian Islands are certainly one of the most popular Greek destinations, thanks to the beauty of thee uncontaminated sea between rocks and white beaches, in a unique natural setting, with dense forests and Mediterranean vegetation, uncommon among the Aegean islands, usually rather arid. In this seven day itinerary, we sail along the Ionian Greece staring off from Corfu, with its blue flag awarded beaches, to sail then to Parga, with its labyrinth of alleys, orthodox churches and white houses, Kefalonia and its famous beach of Myrtos and Meganissi with its natural wild coves.  By the end of this itinerary we also interview Petros, base manager at Lefkas Marina. Meet George the base manager from charter company Istion in Alimos Marina, the biggest base in Athens. In this interview he explores the best places he recommends sailing to as you make your way from Athens harbour. Western winds can blow pretty quickly and when the wind is blowing from the north, you need to be aware of the big waves, when crossing to Poros. Saronic and Algonic Gulf is a sailing area, so it's the first step for anyone who wants to start sailing. Much easier than other parts of Greece.  "Don't forget to have an overnight at Island Dokos. You can say the water is wonderful and the best port all around the area." says George. Watch the full interview here.  The location of this base is perfect to reach various islands and national parks that are absolutely worth a visit. You can easily reach them by boat or catamaran if you're traveling around there. Watch George's full video with tips and recommendations on sailing in this area.
