June 2021I set off with good friend David to celebrate my 50th in the Scilly isles

After doing lots of research and reading the manufacturer’s instructions I used 23% hydrochloric acid, diluted 1 part acid to 4 parts water, to slowly and progressively clean the propeller. I rinsed it with copious amounts of water between each cleaning session of several minutes duration, which involved brushing it on with a 2cm wide brush made with the tail hairs of young horses from the exotic ElCheapo breed. No disassembly was required, though I did remove the anodes first. So I guess that is some disassembly, which was easy to do. Worth doing too, as the anode screws were not as tight as I remember doing them up. I’ll be making sure the threads are clean and dry before applying Loktite when reassembling. I wanted to be sure there was no acid remaining active in amongst the works of the propeller, so made a bucket of warm, soapy water and slowly poured that over and through the propeller mechanism, blades and body, a couple of times. Lots more rinsing and it’s as clean as a whistle. Next I will redo the various locking screws with fresh Loktite 243 in clean threaded holes, then apply grease to the gears, to protect from oxidation and make the prop ready for launching. We won’t go to the lengths of a full PropSpeed antifoul treatment this time, as, after the first year in the water the propeller was not particularly fouled up.

In this episode, we learn of the tsunami warning emanating from a volcanic eruption near Tonga. We have about 30 minutes to depart our anchorage before the tsunami is first forecast to impact Southern California. At the same time, it is raining and there is a Small Craft Advisory. David and Kirby continue on as crew and we depart Catalina Harbor in a rush. Fortunately, both the tsunami and Small Craft Advisory turn out to be nonevents for us. And today I am walking around Humayun's Tomb, Safdarjung's Tomb and Sarojini Bazaar. Safdarjung's Tomb is a sandstone and marble mausoleum in Delhi. It was built in 1754 in the late Mughal Empire style for Nawab Safdarjung. The monument has an ambience of spaciousness and an imposing presence with its domed and arched red brown and white coloured structures. Safdarjung, Nawab of Oudh, was made prime minister of the Mughal Empire (Wazir ul-Mamlak-i-Hindustan) when Ahmed Shah Bahadur ascended the throne in 1748. Dilli Haat is a paid-entrance open-air market, food plaza, and craft bazaar located in Delhi. Located in South Delhi, the bazaar is named after the famed freedom fighter Sarojini Naidu. Humayun's tomb is the tomb of the Mughal Emperor Humayun in Delhi. The tomb was commissioned by Humayun's wife consort, Empress and the mother of his successor, the third Mughal emperor Akbar. Hamida Banu Begum (also known as Maryam Makani ) in 1558, and designed by Mirak Mirza Ghiyas and his son, Sayyid Muhammad, Persian architects chosen by her. It was the first garden-tomb on the Indian subcontinent, and is located in Nizamuddin East, Delhi, India, close to the Dina-panah Citadel, also known as Purana Qila (Old Fort), that Humayun found in 1533. We couldn't ask for a better first couple days back on the boat out at anchor and sailing in the Baja of Mexico. It's exactly what we wanted after spending so much time working on the dock and being away for the summer. We sailed across to the Baja from San Carlos and arrived to an anchorage with a few other boats in the neighborhood. WE quickly become friends with the other boats. Kayak and swim with dolphins, and sail down the Baja with fantastic conditions and people. For the start of our 4th season at sea, it has kicked off with a bang and we are loving the new boat! Our sequence of videos was interrupted by the Annapolis Boat Show but we return now to the exciting adventure aboard the sailor trailer that gets us back out on the water! In this episode we explore into the Noosa Everglades, one of only two true everglades in the world with the other being the Florida Everglades. Unfortunately the trip is cut short by news that the whole of south east Queensland is having a sudden shutdown at 4pm that day due to COVID outbreaks. We have to decide if we sit tight up the river or make a frantic dash to try and escape from the lockdown area within the 5 hours left.... Very difficult given we have about 5 hours of travelling to do! Neuster Zugang ist Karsten aus Dänemark. Zusammen mit Freunden aus Australien und England wollen wir das 170 Quadratmeter große Segel auf der Beneteau 51 Idyll zum ersten Mal fliegen lassen. After we bought a parasailor for our Dilly-Dally last year, the number of friends of winged sailing is also growing in the marina in Kas. The latest addition is Karsten from Denmark. Horten is a porttown and municipality in Norway along the Oslofjord. Horten was originally designed as a support craft for submarines and fast attack craft. Historically famous is the "The Battle of Horten Harbour" or the "Action at Horten" The engagement that occurred on 9 April 1940 during Operation Weserübung when the Germans launched an amphibious assault on Karljohansvern, the Norwegian naval base at Horten. The guestharbour in Horten is situated in the centre and is easily accessible from the waterway in the Oslofjord. Close to the marina, there are playgrounds, beach volleyball court and a kiosk. The harbour is located near a large shopping centre nearby, restaurants, bars and a cinema.
