Ils n'ont jamais passé de nuit en mer ! On embarque nos amis Philippe et Françoise pour une séjour sur les iles des archipels de Madère et des Canaries. Une traversée de 2 jours de navigation est prévue pour relier Porto Santo à La Palma, mais voilà, c'est une première pour nos équipiers à bord ...! Philippe va découvrir qu'il est gêné par un mal de mer et va essayer divers médicaments pour combattre ce désagrément, avec plus ou moins de succès. Françoise aura une peur bleue dans l'entrée du port de El Hierro quand nous devrons passer la chicane de l'entrée du port avec 40 noeuds de vent et que nous avons rasé le quai de très très près ! Les conditions en mer ne sont pas toujours faciles avec du vent et de la houle, mais au final, une superbe surprise avec de magnifiques DAUPHINS qui viennent faire un bout de chemin avec nous. Mai 2021: mit einer Lagoon 400 von Trogir, Solta, Brac, Rund VIS über Hvar, Brac zurück nach Trogir. Im 2. Corona-Segelsommer war es wieder wackelig, ob und in welcher Konstellation wir fahren. Die Lagoon buchten wir schon im September 2019, verschoben 2020 auf 2021. Ein Paar konnte auch 2021 keine Quarantäne riskieren und so sprang spontan ein weiteres befreundetes Ehepaar ein. Bei Beginn der Bayerischen Pfingstferien hat es sich bewährt, dass wir Freitag früh schon von München starten. Bisher immer staufrei! Wir buchten uns Freitag ein nettes Hotel und genossen den warmen Abend in Trogir. Das Restaurante Kamerlengo würde ich noch mal besuchen. SA: Die Übernahme der Yacht am Samstag erfolgte um 11:45 Uhr problemlos und so starteten wir um 13 Uhr aus der Marina Trogir. Am Wind mit 22-27 kn und 2 m Wellen, kurzer Regen und insgesamt ungemütlich bogen wir nach 2,5 h bei Solta in die Bucht Necujam ein. Das Wrack dort interessierte mich schon immer. Einige badeten, aber der Wind war kalt. SQ: Weil es in der Bucht sogar 30kn Wind hatte blieben wir bis 12 Uhr. Draußen ging es wieder gegen den Wind und Welle. Die Gischt spritzte und Carlo wurde sogar seekrank. So bogen wir bei Brac wieder vorzeitig in die Bucht Lucice ein. Eine karibische Bucht, die so gut geschützt war, dass wir alle badeten und die SUPs ausprobierten. MO: Bei wieder 20 - 30 kn Wind starteten wir Richtung VIS bei Speed von 8-9 kn. Das hat allen sogar Spaß gemacht, keinem wurde schlecht ;). Als wir in die Fallböen vor VIS kamen, sprang ein Motor nicht an und der zweite konnte das Schiff kaum im Wind halten. Mit Mühe bekamen wir das Groß herunter und steuerten den Stadthafen Komiza auf Vis an. Nachdem in dem Bojenfeld eine riesen Welle stand, wusste ich, dass ich am Pier anlegen musste. Obwohl wir darauf nicht vorbereitet waren und 27 kn Seitenwind herrschten, bekam ich das Monster gut in die letzte Lücke. Glück gehabt ;) Pizza Charly war lecker! DI: leider war die Blaue Grotte wegen zu hoher Wellen geschlossen. So motorten wir direkt zu unserer viel geliebten Bucht Stiniva. Alle waren begeistert. Weiter ging es zur Grünen Grotte, bei der wir alle durch den Strahl tauchten. Wir waren die einzigen und das war ein wirklich tolles Erlebnis. Um 18 Uhr legten wir uns dann in die Bucht Stoncica an eine - kostenlose - Boje. Mi: Um 10 Uhr legten wir Richtung St. Klement Inseln ab und machten um 12 Uhr in der Bucht Tarsce einen Badestopp. Das Wasser ist Türkis !!! Um 15 Uhr ging es weiter Richtung Hvar, Konoba Ringo, wo wir um 16:30 an Jures Boje fest machten. Der Fisch war wieder MEGA. Jedoch stießen wir Nachts, wegen Windstille, gegen die Nachbaryacht. Wir waren alle wach, daher eher lustig, aber die Bojen sind zu eng gesetzt! DO: Vormittag badeten wir noch in der Ringo-Bucht, segelten dann noch mal 1,5 h quer rüber nach Brac in die Bucht Smirka. Dort verbrachten wir den Nachmittag mit baden, essen, schlafen und den SUPs. Eine Abschdiedsparty durfte nicht fehlen! FR: leider fiel während der Fahrt die Dinghi-Leine ins Wasser und zog sich in die Schraube. Mit viel Ausdauer, Luft und einem Leatherman bekamen wir sie glücklicher Weise wieder frei. Das alles passierte nah an den Felsen und mir wurde erstmalig bewusst, wie gut ein zweiter Motor ist, wenn einer ausfällt. Ein großes Plus am KAT. Aber danach alles easy, hielten wir zum letzten Baden und Packen hinter Sveta Jumija und waren pünktlich um 17:13 in der Marina zurück. Dort kam ich wegen starkem Seitenwind und enger Gasse NICHT in meine Box. Leider trieb ich komplett auf die Lee-Charter-Boote und ein Marinero sprang über und legte das Schiff an. Peinlich! Aber die Leute von Angelina trösteten mich direkt und meinte, ich hätte doch anrufen sollen. Nachmittag ist da immer so viel Wind (Tanken ging nämlich kurz davor noch super! Kein Wind) Was lerne ich daraus: meist sind die Charter-Stege viel enger als normale Marinas. Sollte dann noch Seitenwind sein, erspare ich mir zukünftig den peinlichen Versuch und hole mir einfach Hilfe! Aber auch das erfordert die Stärke zu zu geben, dass man der Aufgabe wohl nicht gewachsen sein wird ... Alles in allem war es wieder herrlich! Der Umstieg von einem Mono zum KAT ist natürlich vom Platzangebot gewaltig. Mit Nicht-Seglern auf jeden Fall die bessere Wahl! Das Anlegen bei wenig Wind ist genauso einfach wie mit einem Mono. Bei viel Wind finde ich es viel schwieriger als mit einem Mono, da die Windangriffsfläche einfach gewaltig ist. Darin habe ich halt auch keine Übung und frage mich, wie ich sie bekommen soll ... Und der Kick beim Segeln, wenn sich das Schiff unter einem in den Wind legt fehlt natürlich gänzlich. To replace the dripless seal, the boat needs to be out of the water. Tambi and Ben head to Florida to move a Westsail 42 from West Palm to Green Cove Springs where they will spend the next 9 months getting the boat ready for long term cruising. The plan is to knock out this little relocation trip within the span of a week or so. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to Ben and Tambi, the fuel tanks are contaminated with a significant amount of sludge, water, aluminum shavings, and remnants of dirt dobber nests. I've used our own archive material from 2014 to put this short video together The 42 44 45 and 50 DS were the most popular new yachts my company ever sold During our amazing 17-year relationship with Jeanneau. Many deck saloon features can be found throughout the Jeanneau range. However Unique to the Deck saloon is the Supersized cockpit and large side windows that make a perfect combination if you're looking to buy a sailing yacht that also needs to function as a modern liveaboard space. For this combination, the deck saloon range works perfectly. The concept of the deck saloon comes into play as you can see, the entire interior is bathed light from all the opening hatches ports and side windows A lot of high-end materials are used on the interior of the 44DS, all this interplays together to make this yacht feel very comfortable. This is certainly a yacht that you can live on or spend extended time onboard enjoying its high-end design atmosphere. let's go through the yacht area by area and show you some of the key features. Starting with the sink cover, which completely closes away when you're not using the galley, and when you want to use it, you have a quick hinged section that slides out of place revealing double sinks. underneath the sink area are some large pull-out drawers with a soft return system. another nice feature is the pull-out waste bin on the side of the galley. Standard is a 185-litre fridge compartment with a small freezer, A two-burner stove is standard with oven storage under the stove for all of the larger galley items. The navigation station desk has a variety of different functions. underneath the desk is usually a bar space that can be equipped with a wine fridge or a regular 65-litre refrigerator. On the desk surface, itself is a nice leatherette finish designed for a laptop computer that plugs both to the main navigation system. This particular yacht is equipped with a Simrad Sonic system which allows you to plug an iPod and control your entertainment here. it's really a multi-functional space to sit and work while you enjoy the boat. the boat has two possible tables. A standard table with a large fixed surface and two removable legs that could be transferred into a sleeping berth. Or a nice dining room table on an electric pedestal leg. in the forward cabin is a very big birth, it´s 2 meters by 190 wide. some of the key features of the aft cabin include the amount of light and ventilation that comes into the space. It has three opening ports which include an opening port over the stern. There are two heads on the boat, one forward one aft The aft head is the owner's head as well as having day head access from the saloon. The forward head is a private head situated in the guest forward cabin. A very large bed is in this space that´s 2 meters 10 long by 180 centimetres wide.

We’ve made it to Seisia and go ashore in Peanut, to the Loyalty Beach Caravan Park, to pick up our spinnaker sock., finally! We measure and mark out the fabric for the mizzen stack pack. There isn’t enough room on Nutshell to do it easily so we use a table on the beach instead and use an ingenious trick for measuring long lengths with limited table space. With Nat gone and James home alone on the boat.....it´s time to pick up some crew for our next voyage. We have some exciting news...we are headed to the Bahamas and we cant wait. Meet our newest crew member Daniel, an Israeli personal trainer who just got his Captain´s license. James and Daniel prepare the boat and leave Linton Bay to sail to the San Blas islands, Panama. Here they have a couple of nights before setting sail on one of the most dangerous crossings to date. Their plan is to head to Colombia in order to make some Easting before heading North towards Bahamas.
