Log 31 | After getting a bit too comfortable in Georgetown, we decided to hoist our sails in search of new destinations with a bit more.. remoteness. We've been buddy sailing with our friends Brandon and Karlie and their adorable dog, Ayla for more than a month now, and we continue to find ourselves on some awesome adventures, and possibly also having a bit too much fun from time to time. After many fish-less passages, we were starting to think there really were no fish left in the sea. That was until our most recent offshore sail! Log 25 | In this weeks' log we pick up anchor, say goodbye to Spanish Wells, and set sail in the direction of Central Eleuthera. We experience some pretty amazing sailing conditions, and upon arrival to Hatchet Bay, we're greeted with a beautiful anchorage and even a bit of live entertainment. After a few days exploring Hatchet Bay, we enjoy a pretty sporty sail down to Governor's Harbour. Log 20 | We are Ed and Paige and we live aboard our 37 foot sailboat, Sea Pearl. In September of 2019, we sold the last of our non-essential belongings and set off to travel. We visited New Zealand for 4 months, traveled in a van around the Northeast US for 6 months, and then bought a sailboat. We then spent over 4 months preparing her for a life of offshore & off-grid adventures. You can check out what all we did in our previous videos if that's something you're interested in. Log 18 | After 4 days of very strong easterly winds and hiding out in an anchorage in Fort Pierce, Florida, we sailed Sea Pearl down to West Palm Beach. It was a bit rocky but it was a beautiful sunny day and we saw a pod of dolphins along the way! Once in West Palm, we did a little exploring around Peanut Island and Ed had a go at filming a DIY about "how to tighten a forestay via the furling drum." Log 17 | Surprise!! Sea Pearl has officially left the marina? After 4 months in the marina, we've completed the major refit projects we had planned and have decided it was time to cut the lines and start our sailing adventure once and for all. And for the other exciting news, Paige's passport mission in NY was a successful one! So yep, we're thrilled, and we can now happily (and legally) return to our originally planned sailing adventure. Log 14 | With a stress crack in our original forestay chainplate, we were determined to have a new one fabricated to replace it. And of course, the new one needed to be bigger & stronger! We've been trying to get this boat project completed since day one of purchasing our sailboat.. and it's finally done! The original chainplate was thought to be either 304 or 308 stainless and only 1/4" thick, so we replaced it with 1/2" 316 stainless steel. And oh wow is it shiny!!
