Day 14 at the RS Games was a grey start, but the breeze was in, and it had all the makings of an epic day of racing - it didn't disappoint! ✨ The RS Tera, RS500 and RS Aero fleets raced hard, with staggered start times allowing everyone the space to play in the harbour. The fleets that went out first thing faced the worst of the breeze, whereas the fleets launching later on enjoyed a gradually moderating breeze which was a welcome relief to tired legs! 🙃 In the evening the RS Tera sailors enjoyed another evening of Tera's Got Talent alongside inflatable fun kindly provided by our event partner 18words.com 🏄‍♀️. #rsgames #rssailing #sailitliveitloveit

We slung our hook from anchor from Isla Cebaco in Panama's lush and remote west coast. Just 20 miles out of the anchorage we hit a nasty squall that had us running for cover. After a lucky escape and a calm night on anchor, we made an early departure to reach the surfing hotspot of Venao before sunset! We bezoeken de rum destilleerderijen River Antoine Rum Distillery en Westerhall Rum Distillery en de chocoladefabriek op Belmont Estate. Met de huurauto rijden we het hele eiland rond. Een uitstapje naar de Royal Mount Carmel Falls mondt uit in een reünie van Nederlandse zeilers die we daar toevallig tegenkomen. We verhuizen een baai verder en bezoeken het Molinere Underwater Sculpture Park. Een bijzondere ervaring. In deze aflevering tref je ook beelden van onze vrienden Kim en Vincent van Heron, waarvoor hartelijk dank! Jarenlang heb ik ervan gedroomd om zeilend te gaan waar de wind me brengt. In 2020 was het dan eindelijk zover en heb ik samen met Felia een prachtige reis gemaakt naar Scandinavië en de Baltische staten. Onze Eva, een Atlantic 43 uit 2007, is een aluminium zeiljacht met hefkiel en gebouwd en uitgerust voor reizen naar plaatsen die net achter de horizon liggen. Vanaf 2021 vaar ik met wisselende bemanning zuidwaarts. Ik vind het leuk om onze avonturen met jullie te delen. Really early start today and as I got closer and closer to the lake this morning, it just got foggier and foggier!! So I quickly got Mochyn Du ready to motor and off we went into the foggy midst. It was a real "Pea Souper" as they say here in the UK!! I wanted to try and take advantage of the foggy condition and show just how easy it was to get lost, lose your bearings and also how quickly things krept up on you. A pea souper by the way is a very London term for a Thick Fog. In order for Maren & Matthias to be able to live and work independently on their Outremer 51 VAST, they primarily need sufficient electricity and drinking water. How do they do it, off the grid and surrounded by the salty sea? That's what this video is all about. - Maren, founder of VAST FORWARD and her husband Matthias have been living and working on board a sailing boat since 2015. Purely seen from a management point of view, this works because VAST FORWARD has been structured 100% remotely since it was founded. - "Living and working on board" sounds almost too good to be true, romantic, the ideal and the dream of many people. Maren and Matthias also love independence, the freedom for which they gave up their old life in Hamburg, swapped the apartment for a swaying deck, the car for two folding bikes, suit and costume for webcam, router and microphone. As always, there is more than one price to pay for such a step - and in addition to very good preparation, living and working on board also means dealing with terms such as "off grid" and "autarchy" and having to learn about their own water and energy consumption. Yesterday we were in Cateel just about to do an interview with Kulas of #BecomingFilipino. I noticed a blood spot on Wanagi's hind quarter and saw she had a large gash. we drove all night to Davao City to a veterinarian clinic Commander Daot uses for his dogs. Wanagi is doing ok we are here in Davao just waiting for the clinic to open.

We go out with a couple guides for the day on the Amburyan River Adventures in the Mountain Province of the Northern Luzon Philippines Waterfall Cliff Jumping with some great Local Kids and than they give me my first Tagalog Language Lesson

Sailing leg 3 of the Asia Expedition 2022/2023 went from Helsinki to Stockholm. A sailing leg that included both sunny days and thunderstorms, swimstops, great sailing and some quiet times of playing music on deck. Before the stopover in Stockholm, Götheborg also went into Beckholmen drydock in Stockholm for a few days – a job that was better done close to home with the right people and knowledge easily accessible. For the big boats, Wednesday was the first of two big days for prestigious trophies and today the Britannia Cup was up for grabs. Traditionally, and given the right weather conditions, this has often meant a race around the Isle of Wight but today it was a trip to the the extremes of the Solent.

For years I have used BALMAR Alternators on my sailboats for bulk charging of battery banks, that's why when it was time to rebuild a new charging system for our new BETA MARINE diesel engine onboard 'SOPHISTICATED LADY", I went back to BALMAR to see what they would recommend. Immediately they referred me to their newest line of High-Output charging devices, the 96-Series 48Vdc line of alternators. I was a little perplexed by the recommendation at the start, but the more I studied, the more I realized that 48Vdc charging and storage banks were going to be the way of the future in mobile off-grid platforms like Boats, RVs, Tiny Homes, etc. Today I am very happy to bring you my installation of our first of these new devices, and I am sure you will be hearing much more about them in the future as the technology becomes more widely adapted by end-users like us. We visited Stara Maslina, one of the oldest living olive trees in the world in the city of Bar! it's truly incredible to think that anything that old could still be alive.
