Scuba diving in the Pacific is an amazing experience of bio-diversity. The Pacific has 10 X more species of beautiful reef fish than the Atlantic/Caribbean. In addition to reef fish, if you are lucky enough, you encounter large species such as sharks, manta rays, sting rays or napoleon humphead bass. In this case we saw just small life that were absolutely stunning!

On Our Dreamtime we enjoy a fantastic spinnaker run down the inside of K’Gari (Fraser Island) while water bombing aircraft fly over head battling huge fires ashore. After a stop in Garry’s Anchorage in the Great Sandy Straits to shelter from some strong northerlies, we venture into Tin Can Bay for an up close and personal encounter with wild dolphins. Then it’s back to Garry’s Anchorage for some fishing, crabbing and socialising with other cruisers before we hunker down as an extreme weather system delivers 60 knot winds and 10 metre seas to the South Queensland coast. On our TransAt from St John’s, Newfoundland, we made landfall after 9 days on Flores, the westernmost island of the Azores. We had been informed by Porto Azores that the marina was closed as it was badly damaged by the 2019 Hurricane Lorenzo. To visit marina Flores one most have calm weather as a big surge can set into marina. hence, Flores is very seldom possible to visit by yachts. The weather was perfect, when we reach Flores, so we decided to see. If we could find a berth or anchor. We managed to find a space , we rafted up on SY Julia from Holland. Flores is wonderful and we spend the next 3 days exploring the local cuisine and the island - the ice cream at the marina bar is amazing. #adventuresailing #saga47swan #offshoresailing #adventure #hurricane #azores #saga47swan_sailing

In 2021, we sailed our Balance 526 Catamaran from Cape Saint Francis, South Africa to the island of Grenada in the Caribbean on a 30 day passage. Since then, we've been sailing up the islands exploring beautiful anchorages and meeting great people. Over the next few years, we'll be sailing through the Bahamas, San Blas, Panama, and across the Pacific. With any luck, eventually we'll sail around the world. We're from Santa Cruz, California and grew up in and around the water. Highlights of what happened globally in the sport of sailing in the last 7 days. This is the weekly Sailing Highlights show, "World on Water", August 05, 2022. These are the highlights of the most important sailing events, released last week. Emirates Team New Zealand are busy with their "Land Yacht" project. This video is about the "Pod". It can be loaded with weight, as needed, and gives Horonuku the "righting moment" it needs to generate thrust, and it's Glenn's job to fly it "just so" for optimum speed. Last week saw the start of the long running "Cowes Week" regatta. We start with Day 1 and the "Cape 31" Class. Puerto Portals 52 SUPER SERIES Sailing Week, the third regatta of the five-event monohull circuit, ended with South African Phoenix winning by eleven points ahead of Sled, and seventeen ahead of Provezza. This is the highlights video. This is an exciting time in Lorient as new boats are being launched. This time it's British Super sailor Sam Davies and the her new Initiatives Coeur, IMOCA 60 yacht, which she will sail around the world solo, in the next Vendee Globe. Day 2 at "Cowes Week" and warm weather, combined with winds gusting above 25 knots, provided lashings of excitement, thrills, spills and adrenaline for competitors across all fleets. It's Day 9 at the 2022 RS Games and the inaugural R S Aero Youth Worlds concluded, The RS 700's and RS 800's had to switch modes hard from the day before, with a light shifty breeze across the course it was a challenging mental day on the water. At "Cowes Week", Bruce Grant was on the J 70 Endeavour", and he had 3 races on Day 2 in the 12 race series, and he describes his Starting tactics. They are very interesting. Australian one-two at the Mark Foy European Championship of Australian 18-footers: Lazarus Capital Partners and The Rag & Famish Hotel in the first two overall positions The best Europeans were the Germans on Black Knight, down to third place overall, but still first continental. The other German team on 'Peroni' were second European and fifth overall Six intense first months for Team Actual as they approach the Route du Rhum. The Actual group and Yves Le Blevec, it's a story that has lasted 20 years since he won 5th place in the Mini Transat in 2001. The Evia Island Regatta 2022 concluded with a coastal sailing race in the waters of the South Evian Gulf. On Saturday evening, the closing ceremony and awarding of the race took place at the facilities of the Chalkida Sailing Club!
