A large sunbathing area is provided on the foredeck forward of the mast. Forwardmost on deck is a teak seat built into the bow pulpit, an exhilarating place to sit when the boat is underway and sailing. Twin anchor rollers with a dual anchor windlass setup, a permanent hydraulic staysail, stainless deck hatches with screens - all framed by the varnished teak toerail.

From Aft: The flush aft deck is ample with a dedicated sun bathing ‘nook’ and further aft two chairs on stainless pedestals providing secure and comfortable seating as another intimate space for two for cocktails, breakfast or even delving into a great book day or night with a dedicated ‘reading lamp’. The barbecue grill on the aft pulpit rounds out the picture, suggesting another great way to use this area of the boat. A permanent hard dodger (fixed windows replaced 2022) - perhaps THE singular design feature on WILD THING - is located forward for protection from the weather. The hard dodger has a forward-facing opening window and a sliding ‘moon roof’ to provide excellent ventilation and head room. There is also a convertible cockpit bimini with side curtains. A custom-designed molded FRP steering pedestal houses all engine instrumentation, sail handling functions and sailing instruments for easy access by helmsman, as are all deck winches. The stainless destroyer wheel is sheathed in teak; a nice custom touch. And last but not least, a substantial solid teak table with drop leaves is installed ahead of the pedestal and includes built-in storage with access from a clever top-opening lid.

It was another quiet day on the water at the RS400 Nationals up in stunning North Berwick. Yet, unlike many other regattas around the UK we got another race in thanks to our brilliant race team. But for me the standout story of the day...and most likely the week was of a performance that trumped all the rock stars in the fleet.....I'll say no more! Here it is.

In this episode we discover fuikbaai. Once a year they have Fuikdag in Curacao, one day that all boats come together in fuikbaai, attach themselves together and have one big party with thousends of people floating around on inflatebles drinking and dancing on the boats. But every sunday they do it a bit smaller with hundreds of people on charterboats having an amazing time in the water. We also get our first Bachata lessons and are doing pretty good for firstimers if I can say so myself. We reseal the hatches, install a victron battery combiner kit and clean the engine coolingsystem. Have fun in this great new vlog with heaps of fun people.

We leave Chesapeake City and complete the remaining miles of the ICW as we arrive into Norfolk, VA and our anchorage just North in Hampton. We spend some time exploring an incredible fort before we leave the ICW and head out into the Chesapeake Bay. It's at this point that sailing becomes very serious as we get surprised 3 separate times to the point that we need to find a safe place to anchor. I take a drive to the South side of Brisbane to collect great quality sound insulation from the good people at Vetus' Australasia-Oceania office and get a little gift from Andrew and Troy whilst there; I then get a good amount installed which come up very good; there has been a little 'trap door' needing to be made in one of the cabin-sole panels for access to one of the through hull ball valve's, which NO surprise was not as easy as first considered! Finally! After a long wait we finally get a break in the weather and sail ton the outer Great Barrier Reef. I'd been telling Marie of the wonders of this place for so long and finally she could experience it with me. We had perfect conditions, we could sail all the way out then had calms for 3 days then good winds picking up to carry us back to the coast again. And it was warm! We sailed past maybe 30 whales on the way out, just amazing, we also caught 3 tuna but I released them all. Out on the reef it was so calm we pumped up the Indiana SUP's and even had a very close encounter with a whale while paddling. Let's go remote, like a LONG WAY FROM ANY WHERE!! Trying to sail to a remote atoll, but the weather has other plans. https://www.sailingnandji.com In this episode, we depart the last town of the Mentawai archipelago and head south towards the unknown. We are yet to venture this far south and are heading 75 nautical miles to an atoll in the Indian Ocean. Heading south east straight into the trade winds create some rough upwind offshore sailing. Not ideal with a baby onboard! Sometimes it takes more than once to reach these destinations, thats what makes them so rewarding when you arrive! After fixing our broken traveller with fantastic service by Brett from @MultihullCentral1, we leave Busselton and stop in Eagle Bay ready round Cape Leeuwin before we begin heading east. The 2022 Sevenstar Round-Britain-and-Ireland Race, started on time from the Royal Yacht Squadron Line in Cowes last Sunday. The international fleet got away for the non-stop 1,805-mile race without incident. The infamous Solent tide changed favourably just before the start and coupled with light headwinds the fleet raced to the east This is the Sailing "World on Water", August 12, 2022. Horonuku has arrived safely in Australia. Clearing customs this week in Adelaide after its journey via sea from Auckland over the past month. As sure as the sun rises each day, Landspeed pilot Glenn Ashby was there to meet the containers loaded with every conceivable item required for an outback World Record Wind Powered Landspeed attempt. Lighter winds this morning at Cowes Week increased to give competitors another great day on the water, predominately in breezes of 10-18 knots. Final day of the Moth International European Championship at the Yacht Club Carnac France. The boats participating in the 43rd Grohe North Aegean Cup, set sail for new beautiful adventures in the North Aegean and the Toronean Gulf. The fourth day of racing at the very demanding IQFoil Youth & Junior International Games in Torbole, on Garda Trentino, before the final scheduled for Thursday with the top ten in each category admitted to the medal series. We caught up with Antoine Magre before the start of the race to talk about the design of the boat. "The whole thought behind the scow bow...instead of cutting through the water with the pointy bow, we wanted to bring enough volume so that you can go over the waves, and maintain higher average speed rather than a few top speeds on the surf. The boat is in constant surf, so you don't have to do as many S's as you would on a more traditional boat. It's some of the best feelings on earth; she's an absolute rocket." #SRBIR #RORCracing

Sometimes things need to get worse before they get better! This episode finds Bohemia's fearless crew about to face down a scary obstacle: An overnighter around Punta Mala, which guards the entrance to the Bay of Panama. After rounding the point, we then had to sneak between probably the World's busiest shipping lane, before finally finding the mother of all squalls waiting for us on the other side. Eeeeek. Na ons bezoek aan het onderwater beeldenpark zeilen we door naar Carriacou, waar we een prima tijd hebben. We maken een uitstapje naar Sandy Island om te snorkelen en te duiken. Het is een fantastisch eilandje dat alles heeft wat je van de Cariben verwacht; witte zandstranden en turquoise water. Dan zeilen we naar Woburn Bay in het zuiden van Grenada waar we zeillatten en de gerepareerde gennaker kunnen ophalen. We kunnen weer verder naar het noorden. Jarenlang heb ik ervan gedroomd om zeilend te gaan waar de wind me brengt. In 2020 was het dan eindelijk zover en heb ik samen met Felia een prachtige reis gemaakt naar Scandinavië en de Baltische staten. Onze Eva, een Atlantic 43 uit 2007, is een aluminium zeiljacht met hefkiel en gebouwd en uitgerust voor reizen naar plaatsen die net achter de horizon liggen. Vanaf 2021 vaar ik met wisselende bemanning zuidwaarts. Ik vind het leuk om onze avonturen met jullie te delen. Dat doe ik zowel via YouTube, als ook via andere social media en natuurlijk onze website.
