Day 48, Solo NonStop Circumnavigation: We’ve crossed the equator and now Casper and I are Shellbacks in this equatorial special! We’re now in the South Atlantic, it’s September 11th. Over 2,300 miles from the start (Grenada). 0 engine hours have been used since setting sail. WILL ANSWER ALL COMMENTS WHEN I HAVE SERVICE! ❤️ ABOUT: My name is Captain Kimmer. After tri-outs: sailing across the Atlantic without any navigation equipment, just my eyes and the stars, we’re on mission 1 of 3. A Solo NonStop Circumnavigation with a twist! I hope you enjoy the show. PATREON: Captain Kimmer For those who want to support financially, this is the best moral boost! NON PROFIT 🐶 ♋️ The Bravest Dog in the World Is About to Change It. Help Us Get There. I’m Captain Kimmer, Kimmer O’Reilly — sailor, survivor, and founder of a mission that shouldn’t be possible. Two-time blood cancer nearly took my life. When I survived, I expected joy. What came instead was an identity crisis. I didn’t know who I was anymore — just that the old me was gone. Then came Casper — my service dog, my best friend, my reason to fight forward. Now, Casper and I are doing something no one believes can be done: a nonstop solo circumnavigation of the globe… starting from the wrong side. We’re sailing east, into the wind and current, through the Southern Ocean and past the Cape of Good Hope — proving that after cancer, life isn’t over. It can be better than it ever was. But we’re not just breaking records. We’re launching a nonprofit to help cancer survivors rediscover purpose, identity, and joy. This GoFundMe isn’t just to keep our sails full. It’s to build something that lasts long after we return. Donate today — not just to help Casper and me sail around the world, but to help thousands of survivors believe they can start again. Let’s show the world what’s possible. 👉 https://bit.ly/BravestDogInTheWorld 🎼 🎵 MUSIC: 🎵 🎼 INTRO: Song: Chime & Nytrix - RunawayMusic provided by NoCopyrightSoundsFree Download/Stream: http://ncs.io/CN_Runaway OUTRO: Song: Coopex, KHEMIS - If Looks Can Kill [NCS Release] Music provided by NoCopyrightSounds Free Download/Stream: http://ncs.io/IfLooksCanKill Watch: http://NCS.lnk.to/IfLooksCanKillAT/youtube

Refitting the huge rudder on a Hans Christian is a massive challenge. It requires pin point accuracy to position massive oversized bronze fittings precisely in line and them literally beat them with a hammer! We also have the whole drive train to rebuild with a new Bruntons prop with blades that swing through a large area forward and backward when we reverse, so will we be able to position that with room to swing in the small aperture we have between the rudder and the hull? There's jeopardy right until the end of this episode when I nearly have to launch without Judy... hope you like the film! 🎵 Copyrighted music licensed from Lickd. https://lickd.co Hold On, I'm Comin' by Sam & Dave, https://t.lickd.co/l/ADyAvZk4Qm0 Use this link to get 15% off any Sunsail holiday: https://www.sunsail.com/uk/offers/sailing-fair-isle-offer.

When co-skipper Dee Caffari added a 7th lap of the planet to her sailing CV aboard The Famous Project she and the eight strong crew also entered the record books as they became the first all female team to complete a non-stop race around the planet as part of a Jules Verne campaign. It's always a pleasure to hear from Dee, but this exclusive one to one with Matt Sheahan was particularly special as she explained; just what it’s like to take a giant trimaran around the world when no one on board had done it before, how they made the crucial decision to head into the Southern Ocean when they weren't sure whether or not they could reef the mainsail and many other key points along their 57 day trip. Vision Yachts Owner Q&A | Part 2: Handover Process, Bluewater Safety & Build Quality In Part Two of our Owner Q&A series, Vision Yachts owner Shelly sits down with James, CEO of Vision Yachts, to dive deeper into what happens before, during, and after yacht handover, and what makes a Vision catamaran a safe, reliable blue-water cruiser. This episode covers the final months before handover, including working with delivery captains, meeting the Vision team, the commissioning period, and how everything is prepared to ensure a smooth and stress-free transition into ownership. James also explains the training provided at handover, key paperwork timelines, insurance and registration requirements, and how Vision keeps owners fully informed throughout the build process, including final payment coordination with our financial director. The conversation then shifts to blue-water safety and design, exploring the technical DNA behind Vision Yachts. From our African offshore sailing heritage to resin-infused construction, monostructure engineering, and securely built-in furniture, James explains how each boat is designed for ergonomic efficiency, safety at sea, and long-range cruising confidence. Shelly also asks how Vision Yachts continues to maintain consistent quality as the company grows, how owner feedback shapes yearly improvements, and how each boat is set up specifically for the people who will be sailing it. 🎥 Watch Part One if you haven’t already, and stay tuned for the next episode in our Owner Q&A series. 🔔 Subscribe for more owner stories, behind-the-scenes builds, and sailing insights from Vision Yachts. An outstanding victory by the Brisbane, Queensland GC Sails team of Scott Cunningham, Joel Turner and Dave Cunningham in the Australian 18 Footers League Season Point Score, Race 17 on Sydney Harbour today, produced an incredible record for the class as it is the first win by a Queensland team since at least the 1950s. With two of the three crew members based in Victoria, it is certainly the only time that has ever happened in the 134-year history of 18ft skiff racing. Strong Southerly winds forced the League to cancel the scheduled Queen of the Waves race due to ‘safety reasons’ as each team would have been required to include an unfamiliar extra hand in conditions above 20 knots. As a result, the club elected to change the format for the day and changed the Point Score race into a full length Southerly course event, which proved a great success. In extremely tough conditions, GC Sails crew work was excellent, even faultless, as the three crew members worked tirelessly to beat off the early challenge, then race away from the challenging teams to record a massive 3m33s victory. While the winner was dominant, the race for the minor placings provided spectators with a wonderful battle in the 20-knot southerly over the long harbour course. At the finish, Lazarus Capital Partners (Tom Cunich, Marc Chapon and Jack Taylor) crossed the line in second place, 27s ahead of Vaikobi (Kirk Mitchell, Andrew Stephenson and Daniel Barnett). After being a little late for the start, Shaw and Partners Financial Services (Keagan York) showed some good form leading into the big end-of-season championship races to finish in fourth place, ahead of an improving Smeg (Ash Rooklyn) and Sixt (Jacob Marks). The other six teams to complete the course were, Rag & Famish Hotel (Ben Crafoord) in seventh place, ahead of Fisher & Paykel (Brett Van Munster), The Oak Double Bay-4 Pines (Hugo Stoner), Club Marine (Ema Rankin), Sotherbys-Ballard Property (Bec Hancock) and Gotcha4Life (Kade Morgan). GC Sails grabbed the lead from the start and led by 15s at the first weather mark off Clark Island from a bunch including Yandoo, Vaikobi, Rag & Famish and Sixt as the fleet set off on the long downwind leg to Obelisk Bay. The spinnaker rides were spectacular as the teams battled hard to clear the headlands,; when they reached the rounding mark GC’s lead had been reduced to 8s by the very experience Yandoo team, with Sixt in third place ahead of Lazarus, Vaikobi, Rag & Famish, Smeg, Club Marine and Shaw and Partners. The two leaders sailed tack-for-tack on the work back to the mark off the southern end of Shark Island. GC Sails increased her lead marginally before the Yandoo team was forced to retire off the northern end of Shark Island, when a crew member injured an ankle, which left GC Sails with a lead that had blown out to 1m15s over Lazarus. GC Sails’ crew looked as though they had been sailing on Sydney Harbour all their lives as they pushed their lead out to 1m40s after the spinnaker run to Athol Bay, then to 2m30s after another superb windward performance to the weather mark off Clark Island. Lazarus continued to hold off the challengers for second spot as Vaikobi and Sixt exchanged third and fourth placings over the next two legs of the course. More excellent crew work on the second spinnaker run to Obelisk saw GC Sails lead extend by another 45s, to 3m15s, and all interest was now entirely focused on the remainder of podium places. With the Giltinan world Championship set to be sailed on the same harbour courses, today’s hit out has certainly created tremendous interest with the strength of the Brisbane challenge and the expected strong challenges from the German and New Zealand teams. Why This Island Refused to be Logged... 🌴 In a region where ancient forests are rapidly disappearing, one island stands alone. Welcome to Tetepare, known as the "Last Wild Island." After a challenging sail through the unpredictable winds of the Solomon Islands—accompanied by a pod of spinner dolphins—we finally arrived at this conservation miracle. Tetepare is the largest uninhabited tropical island in the Southern Hemisphere, and walking through its primary rainforest is like stepping back a thousand years. While much of the surrounding archipelago has been logged, these giant trees remain standing thanks to a community that chose preservation over profit. But being "wild" comes with a literal bite. In this episode, we trek into the jungle at midnight to find the world’s largest land-living arthropod: the Coconut Crab. The night took a tense turn when we returned to the water’s edge only to find our path blocked by salt-water crocodiles. With no other way back to the boat, we had to find a way to reclaim our kayaks and paddle through the very water where the shadows were moving. A truly special overnight sail 🌌⛵ In this episode of Sailing Mirage, I sail solo from Matthew Town, Great Inagua to Acklins Island, Bahamas - a 96 nautical mile passage. I departed around 4pm, timing the sail for a full overnight run. The conditions couldn’t have been better: steady downwind sailing, winds around 15–20 knots, warm air, and a calm sea. To slow the boat and arrive safely at first light, I reefed both the main and genoa, keeping the speed around 6 knots for a planned 7am arrival. Night sailing always feels different - quieter, deeper, more personal. Under a sky full of stars, I talk about Orion and Betelgeuse, a massive red supergiant that may one day become a supernova. With a neutrino burst already detected, the thought that we might actually witness Betelgeuse explode in our lifetime is simply incredible. Near Castle Island, about 7 nautical miles from Acklins, I dropped anchor for a quick 3-hour rest, then continued on under engine - making water, charging batteries, and watching the morning light return. There’s something truly unforgettable about being alone on a small sailboat at night, surrounded by the wide open ocean and the universe above. I tried to capture that feeling - the calm, the focus, and the quiet joy of it all. If you love real passages, night sailing, and the spirit of life at sea - welcome aboard. ⚓ Fair winds, Vlad Sailing Mirage

From 19–23 January, 18 young people joined us for a five-day school holiday voyage through the Hauraki Gulf — and the weather made sure it was a real adventure. ⛵🌧️🌬️ With challenging Auckland conditions throughout the week, life onboard quickly became a lesson in resilience, teamwork, and adaptability. Living and learning at sea, the crew took part in hands-on sailing, navigation, and watch systems, discovering what it truly means to work together when conditions are tough. While time ashore was limited, the experience delivered an authentic outdoor education journey. Students were pushed outside their comfort zones, built confidence, supported one another, and proved that growth often comes from challenge. Sit back and enjoy the highlights from a voyage defined not by perfect weather, but by determination, learning, and teamwork. 🌊✨ #NZSailingTrust #YouthSailing #SchoolHolidayVoyage #HaurakiGulf #OutdoorEducation #ResilienceAtSea #Leadership #Teamwork #YouthDevelopment #SailingAdventure

Sailing offshore in the winter months looking for Northern Gannets and North Atlantic Right Whales. The females and calves use the shallow and warm continental shelf to have their young after an 18 month gestation period. The calves grow at an amazing 50 lbs per, HOUR! Yep, they have to put on a thick layer of blubber to survive the colder northeastern coast during the summer months when their food source is rich and plentiful. What an amazing ocean creature experience. We stayed super far away to give them room to do what Whales do. Have you ever heard a 🐋 whale? Sounds like a lion roar, a grizzly bear, or an alligator rumble! Super to be able to see and hear this awesome creature of the Ocean! #sailing @sundog_sailing #whales #doscapitanas #offshore #rare #northatlanticrightwhale

En este video vemos donde hay que hacer la entrada en este Archipiélago de San Blas (Guna Yala). Se da la particularidad que tenemos que hacer dos entradas, una de los Guna y otra del gobierno Panameño.

Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail. Fiji has over 330 islands scattered across 750,000 square miles of the South Pacific—about half the size of the continental United States, but the actual land? Just over 7,000 square miles. The rest is all water, so having a boat is a plus in these parts. We won't see them all, but we're damn well going to try. In this episode, we start our journey island-hopping through Fiji with our friends on a motor trawler, navigate narrow passes, discover vibrant reefs teeming with life, and find our own private island (okay, it's a sandbar... but it's ours for a few hours). From Yellow Banded Sweetlips to Pacific Regal Blue Tangs, the underwater world here is like watching a movie in real life. This is what seven years of full-time sailing has been building toward—exploring some of the most remote and beautiful anchorages in the South Pacific, one island at a time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ⚓ Thanks for watching!

The stunning HH52-03, About Time, made her debut in October at the 2025 Annapolis Boat Show. Immediately following the show, judges, journalists, and prospects were treated to a few days of fun sailing on the Chesapeake Bay.

Comfort sells boats. But does it actually make them better? When I started seriously looking at boats, I noticed something that didn’t sit right with me: Almost every modern boat is marketed around comfort first. Wide decks. Cushions everywhere. Spacious saloons. But very little talk about performance, capability, or what actually matters when you’re underway. In this video, I break down: - Why the boat industry pushes comfort so hard - The real tradeoff between comfort and performance - How most people evaluate boats at the dock, not at sea - Why “comfortable” doesn’t always mean “safe.” - And the one question every future liveaboard needs to ask themselves This isn’t a catamaran vs monohull debate. It’s a comfort vs capability conversation—and I’m not convinced comfort deserves to win by default. 👇 I want your take: Would you rather travel faster with less comfort… or slower with more comfort? Let me know in the comments. If you’re planning to buy a boat, live aboard, or sail farther than the nearest marina, consider subscribing. Every video on this channel is about making better decisions before you ever leave the dock.
