Casper (my service dog) and I trying to make history and do some good in the process. The first of three colossal expeditions begins now: a solo nonstop circumnavigation of the globe — with my best friend, Casper, by my side. On my last expedition, my heart broke when I couldn’t bring him. But this time, we’re doing it together. And not just for the adventure — for something far bigger. Casper isn’t just the first dog in history to attempt a full solo circumnavigation. Casper The Dog Sails From Puerto Rico to Grenada Picked up Casper from Washington, flew back to Puerto Rico, and he had his first sail to Grenada where we began prepping for the nonstop solo circumnavigation. Meet Casper — THE BRAVEST DOG IN THE WORLD, and the first dog in history to accompany a complete solo, nonstop circumnavigation of the globe. He’s not just my best friend. He’s my service dog. We’ve been together since the darkest days — the cancer house, the chemo, the bone marrow transplant. When I was too weak to stand, Casper stood guard. When I couldn’t see a future, he never stopped believing in one. Now, we’re setting out on the most daring adventure imaginable: sailing around the world alone, without stopping, without assistance — just me and Casper on a 34-foot boat, chasing the horizon. Repairing the ship, sailing to Puerto Rico, and reuniting with Casper 🐶 After the Atlantic Crossing, Kite was nearly impossible to sail. I have to prep the boat for the full non-stop circumnavigation, stripping down its weight, repairing its sails, mast, vang, spinacker pole, etc… Then I test the sails out in the ocean. Going to Puerto Rico where I experience my first Squall with 40knot winds, then I fly back to Washington to see my service doggie: Casper. 🎵 NOTE ON THE MUSIC 🎵 Music was done by a great friend of mine’s son, Timelapse by O2. The Sparksman and Stephens 34’. The sailboat I chose to sail across the Atlantic Ocean with no experience and no navigation gear. Just my eyes and stars, but why the s&s34? One simple reason. It’s the ship that has never capsized. Despite holding so many circumnavigation records. But this was true 20 years ago, is it still true today?

The final part of the Atlantic Crossing. Big Storm. Autopilot Dies. And a run-in with the Amazon! The video with all the crazy! My autopilot dies. I create my own autopilot system.
