Voilà 3 ans que nous avons délaissé notre vie à terre pour vivre sur notre voilier. Et 2 ans tout juste que nous avons franchi pour la dernière fois l’entrée du port de Canet en Roussillon pour partir à l’aventure en famille autour du monde. Deux années intenses, faites de joies, de rencontres, mais aussi de doutes. Car voyager en voilier au long-cours se distingue en de nombreux points des sorties dominicales ou de quelques semaines de croisière estivale. La vie sur l’eau vous met à l’épreuve tous les jours, exacerbe votre vulnérabilité, vous oblige à vous adapter en permanence. Hello! In this video, we start off in Soufriere in the south of Dominica for some freediving training on the platform down there. We hike the first segment of the Waitukubili trail and then say goodbye as we sail down to Martinique. In Martinique, we visit parts of the island we haven't seen yet, enjoy some of the hussle and bussle that the island has to offer (compared to sleepy Dominica) and we head up North for a few days to explore the jungle up there. We visit the impressive JM Rhum distillery and come back to Navika where we do more freediving with our friends. The seating area in the bow is accessed from the cockpit through an opening glazed passage on the portside with a sliding roof. In the cockpit on the left side, you can find a wide wet bar with a grill, sink, fridge and large functional storage compartments. On customer's request, any configuration is possible. One of the additional and most frequently chosen options is an icemaker and a retractable 32-inch TV screen. The most important place on each yacht, however, is the helmsman's position. It has been equipped with the latest electronic solutions as well as navigation and trim systems. The control system allows you to dock the yacht with a joystick and an additional virtual anchor system, otherwise known as DPS. I took in the views and tried to image Captain James Cook's boat, Resolution anchored near to Triteia sharing the same view! I then made my way walking around the island visiting the ancient religious mareas before making to the freshwater creek that is home to the famous sacred blue eyed eels. It was incredible to see these creatures (again... after first seeing a few in Moorea). I walked a total of 17 miles that day and my legs were worse for wear for a few days after! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! This is IT! We're Setting Sail On Our BIG Adventure! This is when we leave the dock and the adventure begins aboard our sailing catamaran S/V Adventure Crews.
