Diesmal kommen wir leider nicht zum Segeln. Wir beschäftigen uns mit dem Ziel und Inhalt dieses Kanals und was für die Zukunft geplant ist. Schwerpunkt soll auf dem Segeln und den Herausforderungen als Eigentümer/halter eines Segelbootes liegen. Natürlich werden wir da auf Aufgaben treffen, wie etwa die Reinigung des Duschabflüsses, was dann innerhalb von Sekunden in einen 1/2 tägige Arbeit eskaliert. Wir schauen uns also an wo wir den Proviant verstauen und ihn hoffentlich wiederfinden. Die Benutzung der Daewoo Mini Waschmaschine mit der franzöischen Anleitung fordert auch gleich den ganzen Segler. Dann backen wir ein Brot im Microwellenbackofen und verteilen die Klimaanlage des armen Mannes im Schiff (Ventilatoren). Dazu jede Menge kleine Ausrüstungsgenstände für die Küche. Auch nehmen wir uns die Verkabelung unseres Bord PC´s sowie die Darstellung des B&G auf Monitor und Ferseher vor und installieren einen HDMI Switch. Das alles um unseren NEEL 47 Trimaran für die zuküftigen Reisen gut auszustatten und kennenzulernen. In this episode we got 2nd time lucky & anchor in what for us is paradise. In contrast to our last anchorage, this one is the ideal one for a sailor. Boat life could not be better for us: Everything is within easy reach, and only a dinghy ride away. Since we could not provision our sailboat in our last episode, this time we manage to get everything we need close by and cheap! The views of this place are breath taking, but to make it here, we had to sail through one of the busiest stretches of water in the Mediterranean Sea and to make things worse, it is prohibited to anchor in most parts of this region.

May 23, 2021 marked the one year anniversary of owning our boat! So we took her on our very first extended sailing adventure where we anchored for a few nights in St. Michaels, Maryland with a couple friends. Brian got the inverter working the day before we set sail so we could use our 110v power and make coffee while at anchor. There wasn’t much wind on our voyage, but we were still able to do some sailing by trying out the spinnaker for the first time. It was awesome! We arrived in St. Michaels, dropped anchor, and popped a bottle of champagne to celebrate the beautiful day of sailing and all the hard work we’ve put into the boat over the past year. Over the next two days, we took the dinghy to shore and did some exploring in the quaint little town with Matt and Jessica, we had a blast! With COVID restrictions easing up in MD, we were able to comfortably explore more places in town. On our last day, we cooked brunch, weighed anchor, and sailed home to Eastport. Overall, our first real sailing adventure was a success! We can’t thank Matt and Jessica enough for accompanying us on this historic journey.
