We made a trip up to the Annapolis Sailboat Show to try to get on as many catamarans (and monohulls!) as we could. We thought this would be a good starting point to try and narrow down our wants and needs in a new-to-us sailboat, but it left us even more confused than before. We see a natural blow-hole and pink iguanas. We happen upon a St. Patrick's Day cruiser's party on the beach at Black Point Settlement. And Line makes homemade pizza, and bread for the crew! The Bestevaer 53 ‘Xaos’ was launched at the beginning of July 2022. Like every custom Bestevaer, she was designed and built to the customer’s specifications. This is the first Bestevaer 53 S/Y with a ballasted centre board, for example. On deck we see a beautiful black carbon mast. Instead of a traditional red underwater hull, the customer chose to have it painted black. The interior, too, is completely designed and styled as the Dutch owners envisioned it. The layout is not what you would expect on a sailing yacht, and that makes this Bestevaer again unique and one of a kind.

Für zwei Teilnehmer des Sportküstenschifferscheins (SKS) haben wir mehr als 300 Seemeilen zurückgelegt. Von unserem Heimathafen in Stavoren ging es los über Vlieland, an den niederländischen Inseln vorbei bis nach Borkum. Der Rückweg führte uns über Ameland, Terschelling und Texel wieder Richtung Heimat. Nach der Einfahrt ins Ijsselmeer wurden wir dann überraschenderweise von der niederländischen Wasserschutzpolizei überprüft. Bei der Kontrolle gab es keine Beanstandung und wir konnten ohne weitere Vorkommnisse zurück nach Stavoren segeln und unseren Segeltörn beenden.

FAI UNA PROPOSTA PER LA BARCA USATA Nei precedenti 4 video abbiamo passato in dettaglio tutte le fasi che ti porteranno a trovare la barca dei tuoi sogni, ma non è ancora tua ed è venuto il momento di fare la proposta di acquisto! Accompagnato dal tuo foglio BUDGET e dalla cartella della barca che hai scelto, aggiorna la lista dei costi per gli eventuali lavori. Come ti dicevo, solitamente l’acquisto di una barca comporta un minimo di trattativa, quindi calcola i lavori dei quali ha bisogno la barca in questione, deducili dal prezzo di vendita e formula la tua offerta. Una premessa: sii onesto. Un caro amico mi ha detto che un buon affare si può considerare tale quando entrambe le parti sono contente ed è vero! Oltretutto devo dire che rispetto a qualche anno fa, è finito il momento delle offerte a ribasso. Quando ho venduto la mia prima barca ero convinto che, con il prezzo delle barche in quel momento, sarei riuscito a passare ad una barca di categoria superiore rispetto a quella appena venduta. Beh mi sono dovuto ricredere ed abbassare le mie aspettative Nel giro di un paio di mesi il costo delle barche usate di mio interesse si è alzato di circa un 30% Non starò qui a discutere dei fattori che hanno portato a questa impennata, perché sono molti e l’argomento meriterebbe un video dedicato. Per farla breve sono riuscito, dopo molte ricerche, a trovare la mia barca dopo circa 1 anno e mezzo. Ho voluto riportare il mio esempio per dirti che, il mercato dell’usato in questi due anni ha avuto una crescita importante e fare un’offerta “offensiva” potrebbe mandare all’aria il tuo progetto. Allo stesso tempo non farti prendere dal cuore e dalla fretta. La tua vita di futuro armatore sarà molto condizionata dal tuo acquisto iniziale, quindi passa al vaglio tutte le spese che ti farà affrontare la barca sia ordinarie che straordinarie e non compiere passi affrettati dettati dall’entusiasmo. Consideriamo però che la tua proposta venga accettata dal venditore e procediamo alla parte più burocratica della serie! Nel prossimo video ti parlerò della perizia ed a seguire delle pratiche che ho dovuto espletare per l’acquisto della mia seconda barca! Buon Vento ne poco ne tanto! Carsten ist zurück von seiner Tour nach Down Under. Seine erste Tat nach der Landung in Hamburg: ab aufs Wasser und segeln – bis der Mast von oben kam. Doch Carsten war nicht allein. Nur drei Tage nach seinem Mastbruch bricht auf der Ostsee bei einer Yacht der Mast. Soll man in so einer Situation die Seenotretter rufen oder muss man selber zurecht kommen können? We take a trip to Ojai, California with the flower covered hills looking like a scene from the Wizard of Oz. Hike the Pratt Trail in the Los Padres National Forest -- surrounded by brilliantly colored flowers everywhere. Of course the campsite food is over the top: Soy Chorizo with tortillas for breakfast, Tilapia with capers for dinner and some good old fashioned Jiffy Pop Popcorn by the camp fire!
