Sailing in the Caribbean – meaning the Lesser Antilles – involves a considerable amount of organizational effort in some cases, as clearing customs and immigration is always required when moving between islands. This is because many of the islands are independent states or at least separate territories with their own administrative and customs systems. To my knowledge, there are currently five different procedures in the Lesser Antilles, which are applied depending on the state or territory. These range from fully digital solutions and hybrid systems to classic paper-based processes and, in most cases, personal visits to the authorities. Many sailors find the first steps in the French system particularly challenging, as it uses its own procedures, terminology, and, in some cases, special links that are not easily accessible or difficult to find. To make matters worse, some screens have only been partially translated into English. I hope this video has provided some initial guidance and helped some people to use the various systems. The video does not claim to be exhaustive, nor can it be adapted to situations that are sometimes subject to change. It is based on my knowledge of the past few years up to 2026.

With many still reeling from the shock of a close call with tragedy in Auckland there were questions aplenty for SailGP. But as the fleet was shipped across the Tasman Sea to the third event of Season 6 there seemed to be more questions than answers. The summary findings of an internal investigation that was published ahead of Sydney didn't mention the experience of the Kiwi team that their driver said, 'definitely didn't help matters'. A similar wipeout took place on the following day in Auckland, thankfully with no collision. Were there similarities and how had the Italians lost control? Driver Phil Robertson explains. Midway through the first day's racing and during the live broadcast it appeared that the differences had been addressed with a new software upgrade. Peter Burling is also the first SailGP driver to receive penalty points on his sporting licence, a newly introduced system to ensure personal performance standards across the fleet, yet there was no mention of this and what it means going forward. So, what Sydney lacked in breeze it made up for in confusion and contrast with an impressive, noteworthy and well deserved victory for a team that has struggled for some time. We consider some of the issues at stake as well as talking to to the mast makers turned boat builders/miracle workers that were rebuilding the F50 wreckage.

Bei der Überführung einer Hanse 575 von Greifswald / Deutschland nach Lefkada / Griechenland (3200 Seemeilen) wurde unsere Yacht von Orcas angegriffen. Die Forschung und Wissenschaft nennen diese Angriffe „Orca-Interaktionen“. Die einen vermuten einen Spieltrieb der Tiere, die anderen vermuten anderes für das Verhalten der Tiere. How to replace the top mast fitting on the RS Aero. The older fitting of plastic can crack or break (in my case) through wear. RS now provide a metal version which is much better but can be tricky to change over. This video shows how it is done.
