This model, presented at the IMS at La Grande Motte in its Performance version, was accompanied by a Racer example. ► In the latter configuration, being unveiled to the public for the first time, the trimaran obviously retains the C-shaped foils and carbon rig, and it has an upwind sail area increased from 1,044 square feet to 1,211 (97 m² to 112.54). However, it is 0.7 to 1 ton lighter thanks to the absence of cruising gear and the lowering of the coachroof. The interior, which is relatively sparse, features a lowered deck to maintain as much volume as possible. The floats are particularly voluminous, obviously guaranteeing good strength. All these features could well make the Rapido 40 Racer the fastest 40-foot liveaboard multihull! ► With its direct connection to the heart of the city of La Grande-Motte, the 2026 edition of the IMS was able to develop a new layout for both the onshore exhibition and the pontoons. ►This momentum was supported by a record number of multihulls on display - 82 units - including around ten world premieres that you were able to discover through our on-site reports. ► The organizers highlight the international character of the show: exhibitors and professionals based in the Far East, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Tunisia, the United States, and of course Europe made the trip in large numbers. Visitors were equally diverse, with 27 different nationalities represented. ► There was only one drawback: attendance was down by 5% despite the clear appeal of the offering and fairly mild weather. The increase in the entrance fee from € 10 to € 15 and the tense international context likely played a role. Può uno sconfinato cat, 24 m di lunghezza per 10 di larghezza, essere la perfetta macchina per navigare, veramente, a vela e fare il giro del mondo? La risposta è si. E la vedete nelle video. Costruita ad Hong Kong in vetroresina e tanto, tanto carbonio è un progetto Kerr design e M2 Atelier. Per averla, però, ci vogliono circa 5 milioni di dollari. Outremer 48: nome a dir poco nobile nel modo dei cat, a La Grande Motte giocano in casa ma in realtà il nuovo 13 metri francese è realizzato negli stabilimenti di Loriant. Lo stile, piaciuto molto al mercato, è lo stesso degli ultimi 55 e 52. La firma è importante, e quella di VPLP con interni Darnet design. A fine anno, a completare la gamma, arriverà anche il 57. Al Multi Hull Show era esposto a un milione e 400 mila euro. Simbad 55, sarà stato anche per il nome che fa immaginare avventure e meraviglie da mille e una notte, ma questo è stato letteralmente preso d’assalto dai visitatori del Multi Hull Show. Costruito ad Alicante, proprietà ucraina, è lungo 17 meri e largo poco meno di 9. Proposto in quattro versioni, a partire da un milione 300mila euro per quella base si arriva a 2 e 9 per l’allestimento “legend”. In ogni caso la parola chiave è, sempre e comunque: lusso, TRM 43, ovvero Trimarine: costruzione in Portogallo, management i taliano e tanta esperienza nel mondo della costruzione in composito della più alta qualità anche in ambito Coppa America, IRC e Imoca. A dispetto del nome è un cat e non un trimarano, è lungo 13 metri e porta la nobile firma dello studio di Cristof Burreau e Frederic Neuman. Nasce per girare il mondo, molto, velocemente, e nella massima sicurezza. Costa 1 milione 300 mila euro. Aquila 50. Di sicuro è la barca di cui si parlava di più al Salone di La Grande Motte e non a caso gli abbiamo dedicato un video a parte. Segna l’ingresso del colosso sino-americano nel mondo della vela dopo aver stravolto quello del motore. Parole d’ordine? Le due più importanti: spazio e prezzo. Quando sali a bordo i suoi 15 metri di lunghezza si dilatano magicamente potendo contare su uno sconfinato fly e volumi veramente extra large sottocoperta. Il prezzo? Un milione e 80 mila dollari. I giganti francesi sono avvisati. E infine la mia favorita: Rapido 40R. La sorellona maggiore di 60 piedi probabilmente la conoscete per le avventure della famiglia, star di You Tube, La Vagabonde. Lungo 12 metri, costruito in Vietnam, firmato Morelli e Melvin il 40 R è un tri super sportivo, super veloce e super spartano. Arriva come versione “tirata” del 40 da crociera, che già era un bel fulmine. Tanto per dare qualche numero: pesa 4.500 kg e l’albero maggiorato, ovviamente in carbonio, è alto 19,5 metri. Obiettivo?
