Neyseki Ömer kesmeden kaynayan kavaletayı ayırabildi. Keçesinin ve bilyelerinin değişmesi gerekiyor, bir de ufak torna işi var ama kalan iyi durumda. Motoru da çalışıyorsa ne ala. Ben de mutfağın temizliğini, boyasını yaptım ve nihayet tekneyi tencere kaynar hale getirdim. Teknede yemek yapabilmek bütçemizi baya toparladı, masrafları hemen düşürdü. Bu arada Ozon Hava Temizleyici de geldi ama henüz umduğumuz sonucu alamadık. Büyük ihtimalle tekneyi tam olarak temizleyemediğimiz için küf kokusu dönüp dönüp geri geliyor. Monica picked us up from Fernandina Beach and took us to her place in Jacksonville, a short distance away. While Admiral Toni did most of the cooking, I got a list of chores that I had to complete, fix the patio door, fix the front door, pick up and move heavy stuff, fix her Sono’s Google Play, reposition her dash cam, . . . , you get the picture. The hikes are beautiful, the scenery is lush, and the swim at the end is absolutely worth every step — crystal-clear, refreshing, and surrounded by towering rainforest. This week’s episode jumps right into the fun stuff—Jessica’s back in the engine bay, drilling out two new holes in the starboard engine bed for a pair of thru-hulls we’ll be installing. It’s one of those jobs that sounds simple until you’re dangling over the engine bay with a big hole saw and a whole lot of trust in your measurements. While Jess tackles the inside, Matt’s on the outside of the hull laying in extra reinforcement so those thru-hulls have the strength and backing they need. Anytime we’re putting new holes below the waterline, we take zero chances—and Matt’s layers of glass make sure this section is rock solid. Then we move up to the forward lockers, where Matt starts drilling the openings for our new fiberglass tubes that will act as conduit. These tubes span across the very front of the boat, running through the lockers and eventually feeding into the spaces where all of our wiring will pass through. It’s one of those behind-the-scenes projects that doesn’t look glamorous, but it’s going to make a massive difference once we start pulling cables and powering systems. Together with another very experienced sailor, I sailed my COCON from the Canary Islands to Martinique in the Caribbean. People often say that this route is ‘really easy’. But is it really as easy as people say? Although this was already my third Atlantic crossing on this route – in addition to other blue water voyages – it proved once again that no two crossings are the same.That's why I've included separate sections in the video where I share my experiences and points that I consider particularly important. My aim is to give anyone planning a similar trip a realistic insight into what to expect, what to consider, what helps, and what my solutions and suggestions are. The weather during this crossing was very mixed, and we encountered relatively rough conditions at the beginning and especially in the last third. I am all the more pleased that we arrived without any damage to the COCON and without any other problems. A large part of this success is also due to the atmosphere on board: we were a very good team, very experienced, familiar, attentive and harmonious – something that is priceless on long ocean voyages. After 21 days on the Atlantic, we finally reached Martinique. And even though it was my third crossing, arriving is always a special moment, which we celebrate exuberantly with a bottle of champagne.

Sailor Alex recounts his experience of being arrested in Tarrafal de Santiago, Cabo Verde, under circumstances he claim were misunderstood. Three months prior, they traveled from Tarrafal Cabo Verde to Dakar Senegal intending to repair his boat engine. After completing repairs, Alex had to leave Senegal by October 22 due to visa restrictions. He decided to sail to Cabo Verde for a brief trip to pick up his friend Wendy before embarking on an African journey with her. He brought three crew members on the journey. Two French world travelers and a Japanese cycling around Africa. On their arrival in Cabo Verde, local authorities insisted they must report to Praia for a formal check-in. Despite being assured by the local officials about the legality of their departure from Senegal, they were confronted by police who accused them of illegal entry and exit without proper documentation. The narrator tried to clarify their situation, showing valid stamps on their passports, but faced resistance from the police. Tensions escalated when the police refused to allow Sailor Alex to return to his boat to rest and recuperate from the tree day journey from Senegal. Frustrated and feeling unjustly treated, Sailor Alex attempted to leave the police presence, which led to a physical altercation.
