Depois de uma travessia inesquecível, finalmente chegou a hora de explorar um dos lugares mais espetaculares do litoral brasileiro: o Arquipélago de Abrolhos! Neste episódio mostramos como foram os dias que passamos ancorados ao lado de outros 10 veleiros da nossa flotilha. Caminhamos pela Ilha Siriba, onde acompanhamos de perto a época de reprodução dos atobás e das grazinas, vendo inúmeros ninhos e filhotes bem de perto. Também visitamos a Ilha de Santa Bárbara, conhecemos o famoso Farol de Abrolhos e assistimos a um pôr do sol simplesmente inesquecível. Durante o video a Priscilla explica como todo o arquipélago foi formado por intensos processos de magmatismo, revelando a fascinante história geológica desse lugar único. Salut les loulous ⛵⛵ Aujourd’hui, cap sur le large à bord de L’Erre de Rien, le voilier de Gillian. Les conditions sont tout simplement magnifiques : un grand soleil, une mer presque plate et un vent bien établi entre 10 et 15 nœuds. Pas de destination précise, pas de programme particulier… juste l’envie de prendre le large et de profiter du plaisir simple d’être en mer. Les voiles se gonflent doucement et L’Erre de Rien file tranquillement sur le Pertuis de La Rochelle. À bord, l’ambiance est au beau fixe : la rigolade est de la partie, les sourires aussi. On profite de chaque instant, bercés par le clapot et poussés par une petite brise parfaite pour une belle navigation. Une journée comme on les aime : sans contrainte, juste le plaisir de naviguer, de partager, de respirer l’air marin et de laisser le temps s’écouler au rythme du bateau. Puis vient le moment de mettre le cap sur le port de La Rochelle. Le soleil accompagne notre retour et, après cette belle journée passée au large, un apéritif bien mérité vient clôturer cette sortie en beauté. Neste episódio, chegamos a Porto Rico, onde abastecemos o Khalifa e deixamos tudo preparado para a próxima etapa da nossa viagem. Até pensamos em ficar por aqui alguns dias para aproveitar e conhecer melhor Porto Rico, mas começamos a pensar que era melhor adiantar nossa viagem rumo a Curaçao. A temporada de furacões estava se aproximando e, como a prioridade sempre foi o bem-estar e a segurança da nossa família, não pensamos duas vezes. O barco já estava equipado, abastecido e pronto para seguir viagem. Então, deixamos a diversão de lado e partimos novamente. E essa travessia foi desafiadora. Pegamos um mar bastante desconfortável, com condições que exigiram muito de nós. Mas faz parte da velejada. Sabíamos que, em uma viagem como essa, nem sempre encontraríamos o mar perfeito. Seguimos firmes, confiando no Khalifa, na nossa experiência e, principalmente, um no outro. Estou há dois meses no Rio São Francisco e não consigo sair. A barra de areia que separa o rio do mar muda de lugar sozinha, fechou com rajadas de 30 nós, e eu tenho um veleiro com 2 metros de calado, uma regata me esperando no sul e cinco relógios que precisam se alinhar antes de eu soltar a amarra. Neste episódio eu subo o Rio São Francisco Propriá , passando por Penedo, Propriá, Telha e Piaçabuçu, e depois desço de volta para esperar a janela de saída perto da foz, em Alagoas. No caminho: ilhas que não existiam há poucos anos e já têm casas construídas; um rio que teve carta náutica em 1856 e hoje se navega com arquivos de rastro trocados entre velejadores; uma cidade que já foi a segunda mais rica de Sergipe e hoje é a 22ª, empobrecida quando a navegação acabou; e um pescador que tentou cruzar a barra antes de mim e voltou com o vidro do barco estourado pelo mar. Non siamo contentissimi di lasciare Y2K in Australia, ma il richiamo di casa e della famiglia dopo due anni è diventato troppo forte. In questo episodio vi portiamo con noi in un viaggio epico di oltre 15.000 km: partiamo da Scarborough verso Brisbane, per imbarcarci sul "bestione" dei cieli, l'Airbus A380 di Emirates. Vi mostriamo le 14 ore di volo verso Dubai, dove ci siamo concessi uno stop-over necessario per non arrivare distrutti in Italia. Tra deserti a 53 gradi percepiti e un mare così caldo (più delle Fiji!) da rendere obbligatorio il rifugio in piscina, ci siamo ricaricati prima del balzo finale verso Milano Malpensa. Infine, l'arrivo a casa di papà (con le sue etichette esilaranti sugli sportelli della cucina per trovar le cose) e un appuntamento imperdibile con la nostra hair stylist Tiziana per un cambio look totale. This episode starts right after a night with thunder and lightning and we share what we do to protect ourselves. We visit the cosy town Azure on Elba before we set course towards the Italian mainland and what we thought was going to be a day of motoring turned into a fantastic sail but as we approach the peninsula where we had planned to anchor the wind got stronger and stronger so we had to go to plan B but that turned out to a really amazing place. We are a middle aged couple that has left our hectic business lives to go sailing with our sailboat Fridá af Wisby and our cat Litza. Our goal is sail the Mediterrainean Sea and really enjoy life. Anders has been at the sea most of his life and sailed for the Swedish national dingy sailing team as a young man. Gitte has also grown up with boats and spent every summer sailing with her father as a teenager. Onboard we also have our cat Litza a 4 year old Devon Rex we call her the cattain because cats always decide over their humans. During a single day, I dealt with an engine failure, had to anchor under sail, and discovered the boat was taking on water. Not exactly how I imagined the start of the trip would go.. Heute wartet die erste echte Bewährungsprobe unseres Ostsee-Abenteuers. Wir verlassen Rügen und nehmen Kurs auf Bornholm. Vor uns liegt die offene Ostsee, viele Stunden ohne schützende Küste, nur Wind, Wellen und der nächste Wegpunkt. Mit jeder Seemeile verändert sich die Stimmung an Bord. Die Crew arbeitet zusammen, die Yacht läuft ihren Kurs und langsam verschwindet das Festland hinter uns. Je näher wir Bornholm kommen, desto größer wird die Vorfreude, bevor wir nach vielen Stunden schließlich den Hafen von Hasle erreichen und zum ersten Mal dänischen Boden betreten. Welcome back aboard Moor R & R for this week's Adventure! Episode 39 Places where nature still sets the pace... where ancient landscapes have remained unchanged for thousands of years... and where every adventure begins with a single step into the unknown. A rugged island sculpted from ancient granite. Towering mountains draped in lush rainforest. Hidden waterfalls cascading into crystal-clear pools. Endless, untouched beaches where the only footprints may be your own. Our first stop is the breathtaking Zoe Bay, and all we can say is... wow. Surrounded by towering mountains and pristine rainforest, it's one of the most beautiful anchorages we've ever experienced. From there, we set off on the hike to the famous Zoe Falls. The climb is worth every step as we reach the top, where panoramic views stretch across the island and out over the Coral Sea. Then it's time to cool off in the stunning natural rock pools—a place that feels like something straight out of a postcard. But the adventure doesn't stop there. We continue around the southern end of Hinchinbrook, passing the famous Lucinda Jetty. At an incredible 5.76 kilometres long, it's the longest service jetty in the Southern Hemisphere and an impressive sight from the water. Our final stop for the week is Haycock Island, where we drop the anchor for the night. With calm waters and the crab pots set, it's the perfect way to end another unforgettable adventure—and let's just say, the crabbing certainly doesn't disappoint. Remote. Rugged. Untamed. Hinchinbrook Island isn't just a destination—it's a place that challenges you, inspires you, and rewards every step along the way. 🐬✨ We took Fred's brand-new SmartCat S280 out for a test sail in Turks and Caicos 🌊 and ended up swimming with a wild dolphin. His name is Jojo 🐬. He's a lone bottlenose who has lived in these waters for decades, known to everyone here as the neighborhood dolphin 🏘️. We spotted a fin off the hull 👀, Fred recognized him instantly, and we called out. Jojo came straight over and then stayed, trailing the boat like a dog that had picked its favorite person 🐕💛. Riding right alongside the hulls, close enough that we had to watch the rudder ⚠️. What followed wasn't in the plan for the day 😄. Just a wild dolphin, clear water 💧, and a new catamaran drifting quietly nearby. Nothing like the skittish dolphins we're used to in Florida. Out here it's a protected national park 🛡️, no fishing, no harassment, and the marine life knows the difference. Fred says Jojo once followed his boat for three hours straight ⏱️, then swam with them for two more. Then back to the sail ⛵: even though the wind wasn't strong 🌬️, she sailed well, the S280 doing exactly what she was built to do, before we brought her home to the owner's dock 🏡. Good boat 🚤. In this episode of Sailing Excelsior, we weigh anchor and set sail for the beautiful Caribbean island of Grenada. To ensure a safer passage, we stay well offshore from Venezuela, where ongoing political tensions, security concerns, and drug trafficking activity have made many cruising sailors choose offshore routes. Just when everything seems to be going to plan, our passage takes an unexpected turn when our autopilot (autohelm) begins to fail. On a long offshore sail, losing your autohelm can quickly turn a comfortable passage into a physically demanding challenge. Toni and I packed an old fashioned picnic into a vintage wicker basket handed down from my mother — the kind that already feels like it holds a century of stories. Wanting the day to be special, we filled it with the finest delicacies and the best ten dollar bottle of champagne money can buy. We dropped the dinghy, the ever faithful Miss Annemarie, and motored toward the secluded curve of Peterson’s Point, determined to avoid any wandering Looky Lous. Once ashore, we spread our picnic blanket, unfolded our beach chairs, and settled into the quiet rhythm of the shoreline. Our feast unfolded in three indulgent acts. First Course — Hors d’oeuvres We began with blinis crowned with the “finest” caviar, Middle Eastern olives stuffed with blue cheese, and caprese bites made from heirloom cherry tomatoes, fresh basil, and mozzarella pearls skewered on toothpicks carved — in legend, if not in fact — from the noble American Chestnut. Second Course — Tea Sandwiches Next came the tea sandwiches: silky liver pâté layered with God’s own pickles and topped with muenster, all resting on pumpernickel. Beside them, crisp cucumber slices lounged atop my signature cream cheese and onion blend, finished with sprigs of fresh dill and tucked neatly between slices of rye. Third Course — Sweets For dessert, we indulged in chocolate French éclairs, coconut crusted macarons, and warm apple strudels — a trio that could tempt even the most disciplined sailor. Each course was accompanied by generous pours of champagne served in the finest crystal flutes we dared to bring aboard. After recently separating from his long term partner Kym, Jason sets out on his first solo sail from Cairns to Green Island. It’s a familiar trip, but doing it alone changes everything. Every task that used to be shared now falls entirely on him — from sail handling and navigation to filming, safety checks, and the tricky job of picking up a mooring buoy solo in the busy Green Island anchorage. This video captures the raw reality of stepping into independence on the water: the quiet moments, the challenges, and the small wins that feel huge when you’re doing it all yourself. Alongside the sail, Jason tackles a couple of boat jobs — and true to boating life, the “easy” ones become the hardest: • Watermaker repair: A simple gauge replacement should have taken minutes, but a single bolt refuses to budge. What should be a straightforward job turns into a massively frustrating battle that proves once again that simple boat jobs are never simple. • Genoa roller furler repair: An easy fix that required a welding contractor to come out and work in situ. The real challenge wasn’t the repair — it was finding someone willing to come to the boat while it was anchored off Cairns. After a lot of persistence, the job finally gets done, showing that determination eventually pays off. This episode blends sailing, problem solving, emotional transition, and the honest reality of life aboard.
