► Essai complet dans Multicoques Mag Hors-Série N°25 Spécial Moteur. ► La coque #1 de la famille Aventura a été mise à l'eau il y a un peu moins d'un an - il s'agissait de la version Sport Cruiser que nous avions découvert au tout début du printemps à Denia. Un deuxième modèle - présenté à l'International Multihull Show - était décliné en version Flybridge et voilà qu'une troisième déclinaison Sedan nous est proposée ; cette dernière, que nous avons pu découvrir en Corse, présente des aménagements plus complets que ceux du 38SC avec une grand cuisine intérieure en L, un vaste carré en face et une deuxième table avec ses assises à l'extérieur. Les cabines restent identiques (on peut d'ailleurs en commander 2 ou 3, au choix). Si une quatrième version Sport complètement ouverte est également en préparation, le constructeur mise sur la déclinaison Sedan comme étant la plus attractive - selon nous, c'est à l'évidence la configuration la plus polyvalente des quatre puisqu'elle autorise un usage de weekender, mais également de croiseir côtier. L'Aventura 38 s’affiche donc comme une plate-forme modulable. Dans tous les cas, le cockpit est pourvu d’une grande plate-forme arrière et de pavois ajustables façon beach club. Le constructeur a privilégié des menuiseries soignées, une finition luxueuse et l’emploi de matériaux nobles, comme l’inox massif poli miroir et le Corian, et des menuiseries parfaitement réalisées. Les motorisations retenues en standard s’étalent de 2 x 250 à 370 ch en inboard (Yanmar). Nous disposions d'ailleurs de cette puissante motorisation. La vitesse max annoncée est de 25 noeuds et les 30 nœuds sont en ligne de mire pour la version Open (plus légère). Big progress in the Alaskan Gypsy shipyard restoration — the bow thruster, after much debate, is finally gone! and welding shut, gone for good. Or, until next haul out at least! This old jet-style hydraulic setup never really worked for much we are told, but it left four holes in the bow and a big repair project behind. In this episode, I cut out the last of the system and through repeated acts of contortionist weld plate over the openings. Conditions were far different to last week's Westerly storm; the fleet was greeted by a brilliant Sydney Harbour Nor'Easter, but if the teams thought it was going to be much easier then they were in for a shock as the wind was rarely below 20-knots with a choppy sea. Tough for the competitors but some wonderful action-packed speed sailing for spectators as the fleet raced down wind at speeds of up to 30-knots by the winner Yandoo, skippered by the Giltinan world champion, Tom Needham. Needham, Miles Davey and Lewis Brake gave a masterclass of heavy weather 18 footer racing in Yandoo to take out Race 1 of the Club Championship by a convincing margin of 1m41s Lazarus Capital Partners, which also showed enough to suggest another big season ahead for the team. In a battle of attrition, Sixt (Jacob Marks, Alex Marinelli and Rasmus Rosenglen) survived the conditions to finish in third place, 10m26s behind Lazarus. The only other teams to complete the course were Fisher & Paykel (Brett Van Munster, Tom Quigley and Logan Radford) in fourth place and Club Marine (Emma Rankin, Jack Taylor and Jed Cruikshank) in fifth place.
