Join me, Ryan the Rogue Rigger on my journey of restoring a Mach 2 International Moth that I picked up earlier this year. I plan on upgrading it with all the modern systems with out breaking the bank and then I will take you along for the steep learning curve of learning to sail this Tasmanian devil of a boat. I have dreamed of owning one of these since they first came out back in 2008 when I got to take one for a spin. It was an unreal experience/feeling that I have been chasing ever since. At the time they were crazy expensive to buy and not in my budget. These days they are still crazy expensive to buy new, now there are a lot of older moths on the second hand market that are relatively affordable (Less than a Laser/ILCA in this case). For those of you who don't know, an International Moth is a single handed 11 foot long hydro foiling sailboat. These boats literally fly over the water on two hydrofoils doing speeds 2-3 times the speed of the wind. After a couple hours of boat work, Mother is back together and ready to fly! This was by far my best session yet. Consistently foiling, high stoke and high speeds!!! Enjoy

오늘은 레이싱 요트 딜리버리용 메인세일의 아웃홀을 연장하기 위해 다이니마 시트(로프)로 스플라이싱을 했다. 가장 기본적인 아이 스플라이싱만 할 줄 알지만, 곧 소프트샤클 만드는 법도 배워보고 싶다. 레이싱 요트, 참 신기한 세계다. 이렇게 단순한 작업으로 완성된 한 줄의 시트(로프)가 수백, 수천 킬로의 하중을 견딘다니, 볼 때마다 놀랍다. 레이싱 대회를 앞두고 정비할 것들을 하나씩 진행하고 있다. 올해 마지막 레이싱을 준비하며, 야생마 같은 이 레이싱 요트와 조금은 더 가까워질 수 있지 않을까 싶다.
