We have stayed down there for 4 days and saw sun and blue sky only for a half day. It was enough to see how 3rd most beautiful bay in the world looks like. It is finally done! Muahahahaha (evil laugh)... The painting is finally done! After 9 weeks of work, removing all our old Petit (2 part EZ Poxy) paint, building up layer after layer of primer, and trying my hand at Awl Grip for the first time, our paint on the cabin top and cockpit is now complete. 3 coats overall, and she's looking good! We also had the travel lift come to hoist us up a few feet so we could reblock to be able to remove the old paint and put new paint where the blocks had been sitting. We made it to Key West after a crazy overnight sail (see Episode 3 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-Q87l3FfIg) where we broke half the boat - or so it seemed. We spent our time in Key West giving the dogs some much-welcomed land time and fixing what we could on the boat. We also gave her a much-needed clean. It’s not always a glamorous life, being a cruiser, but it is great being able to do the dirty work with a gorgeous backdrop like Key West! Thanks to our friends on SV Unspoken for the wonderful dog park and restaurant recommendations! We didn’t film it, but we LOVED eating at Bien, an awesome Cuban restaurant in a quieter spot in Key West.
