We’re off again to see another catamaran — this time to Seattle. We fly from San Diego, hop a few trains, ride a couple ferries and even inflate a paddle board to get to the boat, which is moored on Orcas Island, in the San Juan Islands. Kirk knows about this particular catamaran because his childhood friend from Michigan actually crewed on the boat in the Chicago-to-Mackinac race a few years ago. The boat is an Offshore 38 called “Nice Pair.” It’s fast, and Kirk’s smitten. Lauren wants to know: Where’s the kitchen sink? Ahh details, details. After a three day sail from Bora Bora we pulled into Aitutaki with plans to stay a month. Unfortunately for us, a new law had been passed that disallowed the use of tenders by any yacht inside the lagoon making our experience there rather short due to the cost of having to hire a tour operator every day. We did however get out to the kite island for a day and oh man, did we ever have fun! This place really is magic. Déjà, ou seulement, c’est selon, quatre jours et quatre nuits qu’Yves le Blevec a quitté la Trinité-sur-Mer pour son tour du monde à l’envers. En mer, comme à terre pour le team Actual, chacun prend son rythme. Un rythme imaginé depuis des mois. Un rythme à projeter sur les 90 jours à venir. Conditions chaotiques dans le Pacifique pour François Gabart sur MACIF dans sa tentative de record du Tour du Monde en solitaire. Pour battre le record, détenu depuis le 25 décembre 2016 par Thomas Coville en 49 jours 3 heures 4 minutes et 28 secondes, François Gabart devra couper la ligne d’arrivée avant le 23 décembre à 13h09 (heure française) sur son trimaran MACIF. En plus de travailler sans relâche pour faire avancer son trimaran de 30 mètres le plus rapidement possible, il devra donc bénéficier d’un enchaînement de conditions météo favorables. Una serie di sfortunati eventi porta Luca Sabiu a dover abbandonare la sua amata Jolly Roger alla Mini Transat dopo aver disalberato nella tempesta. E una serie di fortunati eventi gliela fa ritrovare, proprio il giorno del suo compleanno, quando ormai sembrava che ogni speranza fosse perduta.
