s/v Cloudy Bay (Hallberg Rassy 54) starts the Atlantic crossing, sailing from Gibraltar to Canary Islands, where we stop in Puerto Calero Marina, Lanzarote. We are now firmly westward bound. First night we have a very rough upwind sailing in +25kts gusting 32kts and wild sea, which made us turn towards Morocco for shelter. They are not exactly welcoming in Morocco, we have been declined entrance in harbors twice. In the third harbor, Mahamudia, we did manage to go in and shelter for a day and a half behind the harbor wall. Then we set off with 25kts N wind forecast which ended up gale force and breaking seas. The breeze was fresh on the first windward leg and on the spinnaker run from the top mark (Beashel Buoy) to the wing mark off Shark Island in Rose Bay. Asko Appliances held a 7s lead over Finport Trade Finance at the Beashel Buoy and the pair staged a wonderful battle as they raced alongside each other pats Nielsen Park and into Rose Bay.

Apple Imovie Trailer 2017 makes it very easy to make fun videos of events, trips, ... This one is made with over 40 different shots and 20 GB of data. You do not need long clips, but a large variety to make the template look the way it should. I think it worked out fine. Hope Imovie will bring out more of these templates. And make them a little more adaptive. However it makes a beginning videomaker aware of the fact that short clips bring action and longer clips slow down the rhythm.

Für unseren 4 tägigen Aufenthalt auf Koh Rong Samloem hatten wir uns zwei verschiedene Unterkünfte ausgesucht, jeweils am anderen Ende der langen Bucht. Der Umzug war relativ einfach, da die Resorts untereinander gut vernetzt waren und somit der Gepäcktransport von diesen organisiert worden war. Das Cita Resort hatte unsere Rucksäcke mit einem kleinen Boot direkt am Saracen Bay Resort abgeholt, so dass wir einen ganz gemütlichen Strandspaziergang ohne Gepäck machen konnten während unser Weltreisegepäck übers Meer geschippert wurde. Der Bungalow im Cita Resort war ursprünglicher und erinnerte eher an den Robinson Cruso Style. Es war richtig schön hier. Nur wenige Gehminuten vom Cita Resort begann der Trecking-Pfad zum Leuchtturm der Insel. Da wir von einem beeindruckenden Ausblick über die Insel gehört hatten, wollten wir uns dies keinesfalls entgehen lassen. Daher starteten wir direkt nach dem Frühstück mit entsprechendem Gepäck: 1. gutes festes Schuhwerk (der Pfad sollte über steiniges Gelände gehen), 2. genügend Trinkwasser (auf dieser Inselecke gab es keine Einkaufsmöglichkeit), 3. Mückenspray (die Wege führten durch Dschungel), 4. Badeklamotten (ein abgelegener Strandabschnitt „Military Beach“ war angeblich erreichbar) … Wie sich herausstellte, sollten wir alles brauchen! During a quick visit to San Diego Ryan was interviewed by the talented Tabitha Lipkin of Fox 5 news. The interview covered Ryan's adventures sailing, kiteboarding, surfing, paddleboarding, and diving through the tropical South Pacific despite have FSH Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic disease that weakens muscles throughout his body... All 31 boats that started the Bird Island Race in Sydney Harbour this Saturday are also entrants in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, so a punchy 18-20 knot nor/nor’easter and a steady swell through the Heads was a good start to the shakedown for the great race south. Peter Harburg’s supermaxi Black Jack 100 was one of the few yachts to sport a reefed mainsail, but she was showing a good turn of speed as she left Sydney Harbour ahead of Matt Allen’s Ichi Ban (with its brand-new rig) with Sam Haynes’ TP52 Celestial close behind. Matt Brooks’ beautiful Yawl Dorade was close to the rear of the fleet but as ever, poses a serious threat for an overall handicap win every time she races.
