We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

"An event to show our kids that sailing is evolving" - Director of Sopromar - Centro Náutico de Lagos talks about hosting the #GC32RacingTour in #Lagos this week.

A brilliant first event for the GC32 Racing Tour in Lagos, Portugal. 20 races across five days with eight teams competing from seven nations.

With one race lost yesterday, six were held on the final day of the GC32 Lagos Cup, event two of the 2018 GC32 Racing Tour. This saw the full schedule of 20 races completed, but two races short of this Franck Cammas and his NORAUTO powered by Team France already had the regatta sewn up.

We are anchored at White Point on Great Guana Cay, in the Exumas of The Bahamas. This place is absolutely gorgeous and by far one of the best places we have found to go swimming. With crystal clear water, a sloping bottom with perfect holding sand to anchor in, and amazing beaches to explore, this anchorage really couldn't get any better! Randall spent his morning swimming in the cool water and had a blast diving off the bow of the boat. We also took advantage of the perfect weather by flying the drone and taking Turtle out for a sail. We are so happy with the footage we got and are so glad that we invested in buying the drone before leaving on our trip. It has made a huge difference in how our videos have turned out and we are so glad that we get to share them with so many people! Later that same day we sailed Turtle from White Point to a place called Hetty's Land, just a little further south on Great Guana Cay. We were looking for a nice beach and were hoping that no other people would be around, but upon anchoring a catamaran followed us in and anchored next to us. We took the dinghy ashore and decided to hike from the beach, across the island to the other side, where we could see waves crashing on the rocks. The hike was easy and the path was marked with various "trash" items found on the beaches. Unfortunately Kenzie's knee started hurting again and made it difficult for her to walk through some bushes with sharp thorns. Luckily she managed and was able to experience the views on the East side of the Island too. We feel like we are on the edge of the world out here on Great Guana Cay. **NOW SOLD** Designed in 1981 by Rod Stephens of the legendary Sparkman and Stephens firm, the Stevens 47 is arguably the most well respected bluewater three stateroom sailing yacht ever produced. A total of 181 hulls were made – 56 of which were completed by Bill Stevens. The latter portion became the Hylas 47. The yacht has maintained its reputation making it highly sought after passage making vessel. Built to last, the Stevens 47′s greatest strength is her sailing capabilities. The hull shape and keel-rudder configuration make them surprisingly stiff and fast boats, well-balanced in any condition with a smooth motion offshore. They are known to reel off 200 nautical miles days with ease with a gentle motion, and with luxurious accommodation below decks they are unrivaled by yachts of a comparable vintage. ‘Projection’ has undergone two refits (as recently as 2016) and is loaded with extra equipment for offshore liveaboard cruising. The interior layout is unique with a very large aft master cabin offering access from both sides of the companionway. The yacht is homely yet cleverly laid out with three staterooms (comprising two double cabins, a twin and two single berths). With two heads both fore and aft splitting living spaces in two, ‘Projection’ boasts an impressive in-line galley to port and dedicated navigation station to stbd. Beneath the companionway there is a walkaround island with twin sinks, under which one has 360degree access to the engine bay. With a safe and protected centre-cockpit design the Stevens 47 is a family friendly yacht, perfect for giving everyone their own space. The living arrangement would be perfect for long distance cruising for a family or group of adults. Constant upgrades, inside and out, are what make Projection an excellent vessel for offshore cruising and it would be hard to find her equal on today’s market. Recent refits and regular sailing have kept her modern and ready for her next adventure. With near new rigging with optional inner forestay, upgraded canvas, large fridge and freezer, water maker, air conditioning, near new batteries, solar power and wind generator, wind vane self steering and autopilot ‘Projection’ offers the full package. Torbjorn Tornqvist and his crew on Artemis Racing continued their progressive form on a closely-fought third day at the RC44 Marstrand Cup off Sweden’s west coast, moving from second place to first overall after nine races. The dark blue-hulled all-carbon one-design with Tornqvist on the wheel scored a third place in the first race of the day – heat seven of the series – then second in race eight, and recovered well to finish fifth in race nine when they briefly dropped from first to eighth at the leeward mark. Artemis now leads the overall ranking on 37 points and by two points from Nico Poons’ crew on the much-improved Charisma which jumped four places from sixth to second with the best overall performance of the day. They scored a win in race seven, were fifth in race eight and were second in race nine. In third place, another two points behind, is Bronenosec Sailing Team jointly skippered this week by Vladimir Liubomirov and Kirill Frolov. Then comes their fellow Russian Vladimir Prosikhin on Team Nika in fourth place. Meanwhile Igor Lah’s CEEREF – which led after the first day and won today’s final race – is now in fifth place. Torbjorn Tornqvist’s dark blue RC44, Artemis Racing, with the American star sailor Andy Horton on tactics, was the top boat on the second day of the class’s Marstrand Cup. In sparkling conditions on Marstrand Fjord, the high-performance Russell Coutts-inspired all-carbon monohulls flew upwind and down over three races on the second day of competition. Artemis Racing scored a second the first heat of the day and followed that up with a race win and a fourth in the final heat - race six of the scheduled 12-race series. While Igor Lah’s CEEREF continues to lead the regatta with Artemis second overall - up four places after day one - and Bronenosec Sailing Team third, the ranking is now very tight with the top-four boats covered by just two points.
