Hello Friends! Here is the 2nd part of the Chart Table Installation video! We FINALLY got it done and installed.... (now to finish both switch panels and complete the new nav station). Thanks to Camille and Mr. Steady (the Australian Cattle Dog) for helping me out to get this job all done ! I want to also thank my friend Paul Forney for helping me cut the Europly, I was so worried about chipping it I called on my friend paul, who is an amazingly talented fabricator, to help me out. I didn't shoot much video of me making the chart table itself because I wasn't making some masterful work of art, just a simple chart table and I know there are LOADS of great wood working videos out there that will do a better job of showing you how to go about building one, but if you have any questions about how I did mine feel free to him me up in the comments. In many of my past project videos my viewers has noted that they enjoyed how much of the process / struggle I left in, as some other channels just do quick edits and its all done.... Sailing on a gusty day. We reef the sails and still enjoy good boat speed. The weather is hot, so Ashley decides to use our new outdoor shower to cool off. We now have a drone and show some footage over Lake Wylie. Looking forward to the beautiful footage it will provide in Florida!

È questa la promessa che il Sindaco di Santa Margherita ci ha fatto quando siamo andati a trovarlo dopo il disastro della notte tra il 29 ed il 30 Ottobre. Ma partiamo dall'inizio. Appena siamo arrivati a Santa, esattamente un mese dopo la mareggiata, la sensazione che abbiamo avuto è che non fosse successo niente, un po' come se la cittadina fosse stata miracolosamente risparmiata dalla furia del mare. Questa infatti è la prima cosa che facciamo presente al Sindaco Paolo Donadoni che ci risponde con un sorriso un po' amaro. "In realtà", ci dice, " il lavoro di ricostruzione e messa in sicurezza della città è cominciato fin dalle prime ore della notte e la mattina alle 9:00 le strade erano già state liberate dai detriti e dalle imbarcazioni permettendo così a tutti i mezzi di soccorso di lavorare senza interruzione". Ad oggi, i danni in tutta la città ammontano a circa 37 milioni di euro di cui 15 solo per l'area portuale. Niente paura però! L'amministrazione di Santa si è già mossa in merito per reperire i fondi necessari affinché il tutte le infrastrutture necessarie siano rese operative in tempo utile per il via del VELAFestival. Quindi è ufficiale! L'appuntamento per il VELAFestival 2019 rimane il 2 maggio a Santa Margherita!

The Savage Islands or Selvagens are small islands in the North Atlantic, south of Madeira and north of the Canary Islands. There are two major islands: Selvagen Grande and Selvagen Pequena.  They were designated a natural reserve in 1971, to protect several species of birds. Only a few reserve staff spend any length of time there. Scientists doing research, one Portuguese family and a Navy personnel. A few years ago National Geographic Society prompted the extension of the marine reserve. About 2/3 of the way between Madeira and the Canaries, the islands are small and surrounded by rocks and reefs. A permit to visit is required. Sailing around them, we see a turtle basking, dolphin hunting, many birds, and even caught a fish — which we lost. We anchored in a small cove, surrounded by Shearwaters. The sunset was an explosion of silver and gold. The air full of birdsong until after dark, when we heard a splash off the stern and realized the water around the boat was full of fish. We lowered a light into the water, and were amazed by their numbers. It was worth threading the obstructions to enjoy this anchorage. A lone Shearwater spent the night on the bow of the boat. We were the only boat anywhere around the island as far as we can tell. The resident scientists and maritime police were welcoming—warm, friendly, funny, and gracious. Geo lead us up and over the heights, showing us the immature Shearwaters in their nests. He described how the parents feed the chick and protect it until it is fat and happy. The scientists do their best to protect the bird population, remove non-endemic plants and animal species, and track the health of the island’s native species. An hour or so after leaving, we run into a huge pod of dolphins working some unseen school of fish. It is spectacular to watch. Thank you for your time and support. We are finally sailing to the Abacos, here in The Bahamas! We started our day at Royal Island near Spanish Wells on Eleuthera and made our way south around Egg Island. The crossing started out picture perfect with a calm ocean and strong winds. We were making great time and even hit 6.5 knots at one point! That is way fast for us! Shortly after getting into the Northeast Providence Channel, we found ourselves fighting a strong current of water forcing us to turn on the engine and start motor-sailing. Randall got hungry and made a Mountain House meal, using the JetBoil, but had a little mishap...We arrived at Little Harbour Cut with plenty of sunlight and were happy find a perfect anchorage for the night. Josh is with the Antarctica NZ organisation and shares his sailing experience from Hobart to Antarctica on the 95m icebreaker Aurora Australis and his flying adventures to and across Antartica. Josh is also a sailor at heart and his Pacific adventures have him from Auckland to Port Vila on a 60 foot catamaran. After we had a great time with a lot of friends on Mallorca, it's time to set sails again! We hop over to Ibiza, where we met old friends before we pick up Sander, normally crew on Great Circle. Spending a few great days with a lot of gaming fun, the bad weather forecast let us stay a few more days in the Bay of San Antonio.

We're removing all of the caulking from both sides of the toe rail in hopes we can reseal it and stop the leaks that are happening at this point. Todd starts removing the section of broken toe rail. We end up having to cut off some of the bolts. We are a family preparing to sail around the world in our electric sailboat. #nopredictions #gusting We cross from Portugal to the Canary Islands, we encounter a Severe Storm 11. Nothing was predicted, we were just caught out under way. Gusts of 57 knots and about 40 hours under 40 knots of constant wind. It was exhausting and Carla was very ill with sea sickness leaving Simon to do most of the work. A terrible passage! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted.
