In this episode we learn that there's always great sailing wind on the Windward islands. You don't need to check the forecast, it's blowing every day around 20 knots. Being in a rush is always bad, but we have only 2 more weeks left till our next guest arrives on Antigua. We decided to hurry a little bit and check out in Bequia to sail more or less directly to Martinique. A short stop in St. Lucia for a good pizza before we head finally to Martinique is a quite good idea.

After sailing north from Pigeon Island in Guadeoupe, we arrive in Deshaie and take a walk to a beautiful sandy beach. On our return we notice that our dinghy is not where it was though! Former U.S Navy SEAL Ben Zuber describes what it took for him to become a SEAL, and the intense training programs they get put through to qualify. He then got out of the teams and became an investor in rebuilding a hurricane damaged catamaran with Colin MacRae, a former Superyacht engineer, while still working part time as a private contractor. SV Parlay is a hurricane damaged 2012 Lagoon 450 Catamaran bought in Tortola, BVI at the beginning of 2018. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, fifteen months after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. The button knot is a great knot to finish your soft shackles, with tail of the knots looping back through the knot it allows you to pull the ends through the main shackle lines. This effectively doubles the strength of the shackle at the highest load area which is just below the knot as you have four rope thicknesses rather than 2 which you get with other knots (for ins. The Button Knot takes up more line than the Diamond knot but is worth if for the additional strength that you get. While the Botton Knot is a little harder to master than other soft shackle knots it is well worth the effort to learn. Make sure that you tighten the knot on it self making the ball as tight as possible, tighter you can make the ball the stronger your shackle will be. Voltamos de Portugal para uma pausa em São Paulo. É sempre duro não voltar para o Barba Negra após uma viagem de 10 dias. Sentimos falta de casa, falta da cama, falta dos amigos e sentimos muita falta do mar! Mas sabemos que essa parada é estratégica para resolver uma série de coisas que uma cidade como São Paulo pode nos ajudar - e muito! Sabemos também que tem um amargo gostinho de despedida. Uma necessidade grande de encontrar amigos daqui que sabemos que vamos demorar para ver novamente... Pensar em dizer até logo para a família então é algo impensável. Estamos optando por não lidar com isso - simples assim. rs Estamos finalizando mudanças, ajudando nossos irmãos e se mudarem (Cesar irmão do Sergio vai para o Canadá dia 14/05) e minha irmã está de mudança de apartamento. É bom poder estar aqui por eles antes de irmos. Minha irmã está grávida e está bem difícil lidar com a possibilidade de não estar aqui quando minha sobrinha nascer. Um misto de tristeza a culpa. Sei que a Anna vem para ficar, então... é só tentar lidar com isso de uma maneira melhor, mas não é fácil! Enfim, falarei um pouco mais sobre isso no próximo episódio.
