Dive!Rainbow Reef and the Great White Wall In this episode we spend most of our time underwater, doing 14 awesome scuba dives in the Somosomo Strait area. 'The Rainbow Reef' provides us with some amazing colour and fish of every variety. We see sharks , rays, moray eels, sea snakes and some of the most stunning soft and hard coral. We also dive the famous 'Great White Wall' although our camera work doesn't really do this jaw-dropping dive site proper justice. We even see humpback whales and dolphins playing together! We settle into the marina in the Florida Keys. We have fun exploring the mangroves, kayaking and fishing. Jessie cleans up some fresh lobster for dinner. We meet another sister ship named Mystic and take a tour of the original Gulfstar 36 layout. We witness a boat fire in the middle of the night at the marina. In this episode I am sailing with Jeroen from Lanzarote to Gran Canaria and checking out the island. The Canary islands are all so different in a beautiful way. You really feel a different vibe on each island. The one is more touristic, the other more layed back, one is more green, the other more volcanic. But to be honest I am in love with them and the people. AND THE PRICES. You can still buy a pizza in a restaurant for €4,95 and a wine for €1,50 A nice steak with pepper sauce for €9.95. It is all still very affordable. That in combination with the all year round 20 plus temperatures makes it almost perfect :)

In this episode our 35 year old sailing yacht experiences a critical engine failure which leaves us stranded and unable to proceed unless we can fix the problem. The engine is essential to make our way through the locks system on the Caledonian canal. Even with super experienced sailors on board, sailing through the locks wasn't an option. *******SPOILER ALERT******* If you haven't watched the video yet and don't want to ruin what you see, then perhaps come back to read this after. The Volvo Penta Starter motor on our sailing boat basically self destructed. We got a quote from a Volvo Penta specialist which came to an astonishing £480!!! After much shopping around we managed to find cheaper aftermarket starter motors for a fraction of the price, the cheapest one we managed to find (£72!!!) was this one here: https://amzn.to/2DXHRO5 Now several people said that a Volvo Penta original part would be better, and if we buy cheap, be prepared to buy twice. Given that we could buy nearly seven after market starter motors for the price of one original, we were more than happy with the possibility of having to buy twice. The island shares the same archipelago as the Nicobars and the Andamans. Although small at 156km2 it is a popular tourist destination for locals, divers and sailors. Of course the best way to see an island like this is to hire a scooter and go for a cruise, and that's exactly what we do in this episode. Even though our visit was brief (we have only 60 days to cover a 1,000 miles of beaches, reefs, anchorages and villages) we manage a complete circuit, taking in local spots and "Kilometer Zero", the tip of Indonesia. After 132 races Presentation Brothers Cork (PBC) were the winners of the Irish Schools Team Racing Championships for the third year in a row. 12 teams qualified for the finals and came from Munster, Leinster and Connaught for the Schull, West Cork event. PBC was followed closely by CBC and then Schull Sharks. Next year the hosts will be the Royal St George Yacht Club on Dublin Bay.
