We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Wir sind beinahe ohne Segelerfahrung auf diese Reise aufgebrochen. Das erste mal ablegen mit der Eira, war am Tag, an dem die Reise begonnen hat. Bislang haben wir die Biskaya überquert, schwere Situationen in Spanien und Portugal gemeistert, den Atlantik in 22 Tagen überquert und wir haben es geschafft unseren Motor auf Guadeloupe zu reparieren. Jetzt geht unser Weg weiter richtung Westen. Die nächsten 2 1/2 Jahre werden wir nutzen um den Pazifik zu durchqueren, den indonesischen Raum zu erkunden und letztendlich nach der Umrundung des Kap der guten Hoffnungen wieder Fuß auf europäisches Land zu setzen. Natal, ou melhor, as capirinhas de caju com limão (junto com um empurrãozinho da Socorro) me fizeram quebrar as barreiras de medo que eu tinha! Andei de tirolesa pela primeira vez na vida! Desci de ski bunda uma duna de mais de 30 metros e o Sergio então ainda foi num brinquedo que chamava Kamikaze!!! Natal é uma festa à beira mar! O passeio nas Dunas com a Socorro foi incrível!!! A gente já tinha feito em Dubai, mas Natal dá um pau em termos de diversão e opções de lazer! Sim, nós fazemos melhor por aqui!!! Aliás, bem melhor! Os buggys atravessam balsa, andam na praia, vão para as lagoas! É muito legal mesmo!!! Quando chegamos, ainda temos os guias turísticos para fazerem umas fotos muito divertidas, eles vão mandando você fazer umas poses "Agora beija sua mulher, Doutor!" e o resultado são fotos muito engraçadas! kkkk Eles ainda te arrumam para a "Foto perfeita do Face" kkkkkkk Pipa então, é balada nervosa - até um pouco nervosa demais depois da 1h da matina pela rua. Nós acabamos nos sentindo velhos em meio à música eletrônica no último volume na rua, mas nos divertimos num bar de rock com som ao vivo. Pipa é linda à noite! E de dia as praias são de tirar o fôlego! Mas o mar é bem bravo, você chega perto, a água está na canela, de repente vem uma onda tripla e te arranca todo o bikini do lugar! Natal é (em tese) a nossa saída do Brasil, então parece que a gente se apega a tudo! Comprei até um coco de pinga! kkkkkk Está dando um gelinho no coração de sair daqui, mas vamos em frente! Partiu, pessoal!!!!

Die Vorbereitungen auf den Atlantik beschäftigten uns bereits über Monate. Es war und sehr wichtig, unsere Insieme in tiptop Zustand für diese knapp 3.000 Seemeilen weite Reise zu wissen. Nun waren unsere letzten Tage an Land angebrochen und plötzlich gab es diese Deadline, die uns kurzfristig ganz schön auf Trab hielt. Ehrlich: auf einen Boot findet man immer ein Projekt. Etwas, was sich optimieren oder kontrollieren oder servicieren lässt. Am Ende heißt es, sei es unmöglich, die Atlantiküberquerung mit einer vollständig leeren To-Do Liste zu starten. Und würde man es versuchen, so käme man nie los. Weise Worte. Es war Zeit zu gehen. Wir waren bereit. Noch ein paar Tage länger und wir wären wohl wahnsinnig geworden.
