Yess we are doing a GIVEAWAY!! Win a full week on board of Messenger for 2 persons. check the details in/under Vlog 25 Our gopro fell in the water and sank all the way to the bottom, 10 meters deep where it stayed for more then 2 minutes. Hermen swam down and picked it up but there came salt water running out of it.. We dis-assembled it and now its about time to put it back together to see if its still working. We very much hope so, because otherwise we can't film the beautiful underwater world while snorkelling and diving... On the 17th of April 2020 we left marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :) This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. We got the sailing- skills on our friends yacht 'Shalom' when we joined them on a trip from the Netherlands to Spain. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtDOpi7ydzdcRK1H7fEiQFQ . In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'. We left may 2018 and started vlogging from the beginning, we made 15 minute video's of our adventures, the nature and the many special people we met. We cooperated with OM to visit their projects and film them on our way. Since 19 of March we started with a daily vlog due to the corona situation. We plan to keep doing this the coming months. Hello Everyone! As our trip continues, we continue to be amazed at the beauty of the Bahamas. We anchor at Pipe Cay and dingy around to Compass Cay to see the Bubble Bath. We check out the reefs around Pipe Cay and walk the surrounding sand banks with some friends we've been buddy boating with. Hope you all enjoy and stay tuned in the next few weeks! COVID-19 UPDATE As of our time in Norman's Cay: At this time, the Bahamas started shutting down bars and restaurants. Word of a curfew came about and social distancing was being implemented. We checked out the marina at Compass Cay and they were not allowing new boats to come in. Word of the first couple cases in Nassau also came about. This is the story of two Northern folk who dropped the norm and sold it all to explore the world by sail. We quit life as we knew it, bought a factory-fresh, Lagoon 42 and hopped the big pond to our current home sea of the Caribbean. Our “backyard view” is in constant rotation as well as our adventures.Through it all we have gained great knowledge on what originally felt like a great mystery. While we have not spotted the illusive Jaguar Shark just yet, we have experienced a whole new life with daily adventure. This is where our story begins. Drone Footage by Dag Heinen and Cyrus Dietz.

I wanted to put a quick video out there on current state and the mood of the catamaran market during the time of Covid 19. It's been a super weird period of time. I personally thought the market was going to dry up, and I was already making plans to not sell anything for the next 3-9 months. I couldn't have been more wrong. If you have any questions on catamarans, buying a catamaran, or selling a catamaran please don't hesitate to reach out. Wiley Sharp 561 613 8985 Wiley@DenisonYaching.com

Over 10 years ago I went to the small island of Pele in Vanuatu where the community got together to create a marine protected area (MPA) to improve fisheries. A couple of years latter they built a community eco-lodge, I was their first guest. Here the locals tell me a bit about this story and the changes they have seen. They talk about conservation, sustainable development and spillover effect in their own words. I wondering how is Pele Island now after 10 years since I have been... An amazing little island with bright and kind people in the Pacific Ocean.

Broken boom, lost steering & coastguard rescue at sea. This episode is about sharing the lessons from an initial mechanical failure that occurred in the middle of the Tasman Sea, that set off a chain of events over the course of 520nm, resulting in the Coastguard rescue of a 45-foot Beneteau yacht and its crew of 6. As a sequel to episode 88, skipper David Hows conducts a full post mortem with the crew, who share their thoughts on what they would do differently, how they would prepare and what they got right in this multifaceted, near disaster story that took place 4 days after departing Hobart, Australia to sail 1,250nm across the Tasman Sea to Picton, New Zealand. The crew of the Ocean Gem had to face a steering cable failure in the early morning hours, followed by two crash gybes that snapped the boom preventer and broke the boom in half. What followed 500nm later was the failure of the steel emergency tiller and then the autopilot, causing total steering loss and ultimately a call for a rescue tow from while mid Cook Strait and 53nm from Nelson. News Footage on the Melaleuca Inlet Yacht Club, Port Davey, Tasmania Founded members Graeme "GA" Ainley and John "Willo" Williams, yacht BARCARDI. Melbourne yachts returning from races to Hobart via the West Coast of Tassie would call into Port Davey for some cricket and a BBQ on the beach at Schooner Cove. So popular was the event that GA and Willo devised the Melaleuca Inlet Yacht Club. Membership was the price of the club T-Shirt. A sojourn at Clayton’s Corner Hut where a shower and fireplace were enjoyed for the evening was followed by a headsail only race back to Schooner Cove, BBQ and refreshments before the trip back to Port Phillip Bay. Sailing and Exploring North Tarawa Fish TRAP and the DEATH of our drone! EP 65 || Kiribati. North Pacific We leave Abaiang Atoll, Kiribati and head back to the main atoll of Tarawa in order to get a measles booster. We both had measles when we were younger, but have no documentation to prove it. Due to a serious measles outbreak in the Pacific region, we needed to show immunisation proof to the Marshall Islands health department upon arrival. So we headed to Tarawa hospital and saw the lovely nurses in the health clinic. Easy peasy and free. We see in the new Decade with a very quiet night and welcome 2020 with a stunning sunrise . We take the opportunity to stock up on some supplies and head over to the much more pleasant anchorage in North Tarawa. Here we explore the gold sand beaches and clear blue inlets.. We take advantage of the view with Darren the drone. Due to a very unfortunate piloting error, we crash land in the shallows. Even after much intensive care , Darren doesn't make it. .After 2 years, thousands of pictures and hours of footage we had to lay him to rest. RIP Darren, you will be missed. We are Jo and Rob and we are here to share our sailing adventures with you. In 2016, inspired by the likes of ‘Delos’, ‘Sailing La Vagabonde’ and ‘Gone with The Wynns’, we sold up everything we owned and bought our 40ft, Fountaine Pajot ‘Lipari 41 Evo’ sailing catamaran ‘Double Trouble’. We had no sailing experience whatsoever, so the past few years have been a huge learning curve. We thought it might be fun to document our travels for anyone thinking of following a similar lifestyle. So far we have visited 7 different countries and sailed over 13,000 nautical miles. We have had many unique experiences that would not have been possible in our prior life and we don’t regret a second. We're both super keen on protecting our precious environment, so amongst other things, we both follow a plant based diet. You wont find any fishing footage on this channel! Based on my own experience of buying a boat, living on it for a decade and travelling widely I recently wrote a book entitled 'How To Buy A Boat For The Liveaboard Lifestyle'. However, as with my anchoring book - 'How To Anchor Safely So You Sleep Well I also canvassed opinions from other sailors I met on my travels. Wolfgang had invested rather more money in his boat than I invested in mine and had it built to order. Even so there are lessons to be learned and things to look out for! Thanks Wolfgang. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Malcolm-Snook/e/B005SOEN10%3Fref=dbs_a_mng_rwt_scns_share

Book your class here : https://www.balireply.com/best-activity/ubud/wood-carving-in-ubud/ Ubud is a famous and popular place for handicraft and also for wooden craft, here you will learn some basics of it and be immerge in a traditional Balinese family   . This was run as a private class for us by a guy who was a 4th generation wood carver. The whole experience was amazing, from him giving us lots of history lessons of Ubud, as well as explaining different woods, their characteristics, and the history of the various tools. Once he'd showed us the basics of how to hold the wood (with your feet!) and use the tools. He took 4 blocks of wood and marked out designs in pencil. He then showed us each how to do a certain area and then let us do the work. After each section, he'd explain what to do next, and we'd go again. Considering none of us had done anything like this before (and the children are only 7 and 9) I was really impressed with our end results!

We’ve spent the last year and a half freely sailing to over a 100 islands in our tiny home on the water, Saoirse. But now with the coronavirus abound we find ourselves in lockdown in St. Martin and any plans that we thought had, have gone out the window. All the islands around us have shut their borders and are not letting anyone in. There are only a few options left for us. Decisions, decisions, decisions… where are we going to next. Seems like cool athletic cruisers do spearfishing. And since it seems like a logical progression for our snorkeling and freediving skills, we got ourselves a spearfishing gun a few weeks back which we're finally going to try to start using. This was actually our second fish, but the first one was less a hunt as opposed to just a target of opportunity. This time we hunted, and while our haul was... modest, we got to see a ton of wildlife (including an octopus) all in one place. It was a super cool experience!
