Actually we wanted to go shopping at the chandlers in Göcek, but because of Corona we were not allowed to enter the town without checking in in the marina. That's why we decided just to spend some days in the wonderful bays of the Gulf of Fethiye. Using the time for walking the dog and cleaning the hull. Best way to escape from the first heat wave hitting Turkey this year. And with two pets on board it's never ever getting boring. Believe me!

Episode 126 Since being stuck in Lock down since the end of March, we used the first couple of weeks to do absolutely nothing... we got so bored and fidgety we decided why not finish all the boat projects left to do now so once the travel ban is lifted we can go do the sight seeing we wanted.. so that's exactly what we did.. First job was to change our dinghy outboards handle.. it took way longer than expected and we had a good laugh at ourselves.. but it's done. Second was to finish up our lazy jack system and do it properly the way we wanted to with the right materials. Thirdly mark up our anchor and then bolt in our pad eyes to run our new system for our spinnaker. We also managed to get some splicing done to make soft shackles. I rate it was a good couple of tasks off our lists... next week... the work continues. See ya next week!! Hurricane season was coming and we had to get it out. Hundreds of people are in our shoes and we all needed a solution. We looked at other sailing channels such as Wicked Salty, Satori, Jessica and Ryan, Catamaran Impi, MJ Sailing, Happy Together, Sailing Uma, Sailing Yacht Ruby Rose, Zingaro, Miss Lone Star, Sailing Doodles, Drenched, Lucky Fish gets Away, RAN Sailing, Out Chasing Star, Follow the Boat, Rigging Doctor, Sailing Lady Africa, Abandon Comfort, and many others to find our answers and solutions, whilst we prepared our yacht in Cape Town, South Africa.

We bought a brand new Highfield 340 CL to prepare for cruising and wejust completed the break in period on our brand new Tohatsu 20 hp engine. Now it's time to open the Tohatus 20hp outboard up to full throttle and see how fast our Highfield will go. We love our Highfield 340 RIB ( Dinghy ) and we are having a lot of fun exploring the local areas of Coastal South Carolina. Today we visited Sandy Island which has deep, rich history. Our Highfield RIB was the perfect boat to reach the island and we were able to beach the Highfield with no struggle at all. Sandy Island is inhabited by 50 or so decedents of one man in the late 1800 who was a freed west African Slave brought here to work on the rice plantations. The cultural significance of the island is huge and there is a noticeable calm and peaceful presence of those who previously inhabited Sandy Island as you explore the trails. Thanks for watching! The historic area of George Town is bar none, one of the most unique and interesting places we have ever visited. We loved this island so much that we stayed for two weeks to take advantage of the quaint streets, historic and varied architecture and limitless opportunities to view art out in the open. And, two weeks were NOT LONG ENOUGH! Oh, and we feasted daily on its incredible food toggling mainly between Indian and Middle Eastern restaurants but also a lot of Malay dishes as well. It was a great day on Sydney Harbour for the first official Short Marine x Grady-White Open Day. We had 12 different models on display for people to sea-trial and get a feel of what makes these boats so special. It was a jam packed day of great value which included guest speakers who were there to educate and talk about boating and fishing. Look forward to doing this again soon!
