iFLY Foiling Days – Auckland, New Zealand (16 Jan – 14 Feb 2026) This footage was captured during the ongoing iFLY Foiling Days on Auckland’s North Shore. The event runs through 14 February 2026, with iFLY RAZZOR Pro hydrofoil catamarans sailed in real coastal sea conditions. Coaching sessions are available. Participation and enquiries: https://iflysail.com/contact/ Heavy-Weather Foiling – iFLY RAZZOR Pro This video documents an iFLY RAZZOR Pro sailed in strong, unstable wind with a developing sea state. Short-period waves, gust fronts and uneven pressure define the session. These are not beginner conditions. The boat is configured for high wind, using a 7.5 m storm mainsail on the 8.5 m mast. The reduced sail area limits aerodynamic load while maintaining balance and foil efficiency as wind strength and surface disturbance increase. Flight Control and Setup The RAZZOR Pro shown here is equipped with active main-foil differential rake control (MDT), enabling continuous adjustment of lift and righting moment while foiling. In these conditions, rake control becomes a primary tool for maintaining stable flight attitude through gust transitions and wave interaction, rather than relying on reactive steering or sail trim alone. Context This session represents one end of the iFLY operating range. From controlled foiling in moderate conditions to demanding heavy-weather sailing, the boat’s behaviour changes with setup, environment and sailor input. This clip reflects the upper limit of that range — where precision, timing and restraint define performance. Design Perspective The iFLY RAZZOR Pro combines carbon-composite construction, a four-foil configuration with automatic and manual control layers, and a refined flight-stability concept. The session illustrates how a high-performance foiling catamaran behaves in an unmodified coastal wind-wave environment, in contrast to flat-water testing, and why such conditions require confidence, discipline and an understanding of active foil systems. Join the iFLY Foiling Days The iFLY Foiling Days 2026 offer on-water demonstrations, coaching and technical exchange with the iFLY team and experienced sailors. Lift. Speed. Control. - #welovespeed Season’s greetings and fair winds into the New Year 2026 Winter Letter The docks lie still, the rigging sleeps, Cold iron hums where silence keeps. Fingers numb, the water dark, Yet every sailor knows the spark. For when the snow begins to fade And light returns to wakes we’ve made, The mind runs fast to lifting hulls, To foils that fly, to driving pulls. We’ve watched the giants race on screen, Wing on wing, precise and keen— SailGP cuts the spray to air, The Cup reminds us why we dare. Not noise, not haste, but control and feel, A quiet rise, a lifted keel. Where wind and water, thought and hand Agree at last, and understand. So take these wishes, clean and true: A winter’s end, a clearer view. When spring returns with longer days, Choose how you move, choose how you play. May next year find you light, not bound, Above the chop, not fighting ground— Living the pull, the lift, the glide, Where sea and sky decide to side. With Christmas greetings, and the best For a new year boldly put to test. #sailing #catamarans #hydrofoil
New Zealand delivers – once again. This video shows the iFLY RAZZOR Pro sailed in one of the world’s most iconic foiling environments: the Hauraki Gulf, with Rangitoto Island in the background, just off Auckland’s North Shore, New Zealand. The boat is sailed by highly skilled sailors — including Olympic Gold Medalist and New Zealand national champion Jo Aleh during a dedicated Masterclass Foiling Session — as well as by an experienced A-Cat sailing couple sending it hard during their very first time on the iFLY. The iFLY RAZZOR Pro is sailed both single-handed and double-handed, pushed in real conditions. The focus is clear and uncompromising: speed, control, flight stability, and confidence under load. With the large rig fully powered, the iFLY RAZZOR Pro demonstrates what modern hydrofoil sailing is about: • sustained foiling upwind and downwind • high-speed runs under load • stable flight through changing wind and sea state • predictable, confidence-inspiring handling at speed A key feature on display is the iFLY Mainfoil Differential Technology (MDT – Rake Control), allowing the sailor to actively manage foil trim and righting moment. This provides precise control when sailing fully powered and at the limit. At the same time, the Flysafe® Intelligent Foil Control System operates quietly in the background, continuously stabilising flight height and pitch. The result: a boat that can be pushed hard while remaining composed, safe, and controllable. Throughout the session, numerous New Zealand sailors are seen foiling fast, wild, and confident — yet always in control — surrounded by the raw beauty of the Hauraki Gulf. No staging, no exaggeration: just real sailors, real conditions, and real foiling. The footage shows the iFLY doing exactly what it was designed for: fast, controlled foiling — sailed by people who know how to use it. New Zealand’s sailing culture, skill level, and unique conditions underline the true capabilities of the boat. In the final minutes, we share some of the magic of Rangitoto Island — the iconic volcano rising from the Gulf. Enjoy the ride. 😎 More information about the iFLY RAZZOR Pro: 👉 http://www.iFLYsail.com/ iFLY RAZZOR Pro — We love SPEED, while keeping CONTROL.

This video showcases the exceptional aerodynamic and hydrodynamic efficiency of the iFLY RAZZOR Pro in ultra-light wind conditions. iFLY achieves stable flight and high speeds where most foiling craft remain stuck in displacement mode. Taking off in light wind is not inherently difficult per se. Even low-tech boats can lift off with sufficiently large sails and oversized foils. The true engineering challenge lies in combining early takeoff with high speed, superior flight stability, and precise control — and maintaining this performance consistently across a wide wind range. The iFLY RAZZOR Pro meets these demanding criteria through: – Active foil control system FlySafe® – Advanced foil design and construction — on a technological level comparable to SailGP, TF35 and America's Cup foils – Mainfoil Differential T-Foil (MDT) — increasing righting moment by actively using the windward foil for downforce. The mainsheet stays tight, using the windward foil to create downforce Unlike conventional designs that rely on brute-force sail area and oversized foil area to get airborne — often at the cost of speed and control — the iFLY RAZZOR Pro maintains efficiency across the full wind range — from light breeze to strong winds over 25 knots and rough sea states. This makes the iFLY RAZZOR Pro truly unique in the sub-35ft category. Comparable performance is only found in the admirable TF35, a marvel of high-tech engineering, and in the elite ranks of SailGP’s F50 and the AC40/75 foiling yachts. On the small-boat stage, the foiling Moth remains a benchmark for light wind performance and agility — though it caters to a very specific and extremely skilled type of sailor. The same applies to the impressive foiling A-Cat.

When you learn to foil, you can endure the hard way - or you can enjoy a fast and fun learning curve, on the most forgiving foiler available, the iFLY15. Even after rookie errors, in most cases, you will not even end up capsizing the boat. The natural stability of its design is so pronounced, that it takes major handling errors to finally flip her. If it happens then, it is extremely easy to right the ship. No righting line is even required. Just step on the daggerboard and hold on to the upper mainfoil. The foils are so stable that it is impossible to damage them in this way. Enjoy learning this high-speed sport without taking excessive risks. The good-natured behavior of the high-tech racing machine allows rapid progress. Very quickly you advance into the premier class, with light wind foiling, foiling gybes, or foiling in strong winds and rough sea state. More Information: https://iflysail.com/
First part of the video was filmed from a Windsurfer chasing the iFly. Andreas Hansen, new iFLY owner and Hobie 16 sailor about his first iFLY sessions in Kos, Greece: « The scene where we wear helmets (annotation: at the end of the video) was our very first session on iFly. Due to previous persistent 6-7 Bft. we didn't dare going out with the new boat in the first few days of our vacation. - We had never foiled before. Then, on the fourth day, the wind was force 5 Bft. and the tingling in the fingers was greater than the worry that we might be completely overwhelmed and what the boat could do to us?! We went out with helmets and of course staff of the water sports center followed us curiously with the motorboat. After about 20 minutes of trying it out, we managed to be quite stable in flight mode. What is unusual for a die-hard Hobie 16 sailor is the direct control with the smallest deflection and the fact that the lee hull can go up first or how you land safely from the air into the water again. These are simply different speeds at which the foiling boat moves forward. During our sailing in Kos, with often strong winds (5+ Bft) sideshore, we sometimes had waves of 1.3 meters outside of the bay. IFly's automatic flight control system had it's hands full and it is working surprisingly well in those rather rough conditions. When heading with the wave, after sailing up the wave and having reached the “breaking edge”, the crew gets a thrilling view of the wave trough, always with the hope that the boat will not fall down those 2 meters. To our greatest surprise, iFly was able to handle those situations very well. We only observed some very rare, short spinouts (annotation: those can be avoided with some experience). The automatic elevator system is a huge help for us Hobie sailors, who sometimes just love to fly fast above the water or just chase wind surfers 😉. Thank you for building such a great boat that makes it really easy to say “I Fly!” »
the iFLY RAZZOR pro is the iFLY15 on steroids. Watch it surfing in a built sea state, with oversized rig, mainfoil differential T-Foil Technolgy (MDT), auxiliary headsail CodeF. Sailing with Yousef Alabkal, Kuwait national sailing team: « it was mind blowing - like nothing I ever tried before - so smooth - so stable - so fast - acceleration was like nothing I've ever experienced before. I have sailed fast boats, but they are like Volkswagen Beatles, compared to this, now. It is insane, absolutely insane! » iFLYsail.com
