„Skärgård“ is now available on Prime Video: https://amzn.to/2zi3cTv for the US https://amzn.to/2WXWZoK for the UK Adventure meets history - The journey continues! In „Skärgård“ I continue to follow an old route through Scandinavia’s gorgeous nature alone on his sailboat. Part#2 of the docutainment trilogy "The Viking Route" is leading deep into the spectacular world of the Stockholm archipelago during summer, makes a stopover in the old Viking settlement of Birka in the lake Mälaren and ends on the Åland-Islands. The movie shows, beside the travel itself, the emotions of a long time-out and spotlights – as already in part 1 – the ingenious navigational methods and the epic mythology of the Vikings. In the Danish National Archives, the description of this old sea route is kept like a treasure. By coincidence I got aware of this itinerary and curiosity kicked in. This document, written by monks in Latin script, is one of the oldest and exiting sources about navigating the Baltic sea. It mentions many places which together forming - mostly sheltered by skerries - a sea route along the east coast of Sweden, over the Åland-islands and Southern-Finland to Reval (todays Tallinn). This sailing route, already used by Vikings, the 40-year-old sailboat LA MER auctioned at eBay and a kayak are the ingredients this Baltic sea adventure through the dreamlike archipelagos of Scandinavia. Watch „Skärgård“ on Prime Video: https://amzn.to/2zi3cTv for the US https://amzn.to/2WXWZoK for the UK Part 1&3 "Salt&Earth" & "The Water is Wide" are also available on Prime Video here: United States: https://www.amazon.com/v/luvgier United Kingdom: https://www.amazon.co.uk/v/luvgier Length of movie: 73 minutes Language: English Subtitles: English #thevikingroute #sailing #sailingadventure #vikings #movie #sailingmovie #scandinavia #outdoor #history #adventure #boat #sweden #finland #movie #documentary #viking
How can you stop small fish to seek refuge in your intake thru-hull connecting to your head? If you stay at anchor or mooring for a long time … especially if your bottom anti-fouling paint is not effective anymore … chances are quite high that soon or later … and repeatedly, you might suck in that fish all the way into your toilet pump cylinder … Smelly and blocking the water intake so you will have to close your seacock, take the pump apart and clean it from fish debris .. not very fun and time consuming! The first thing you can do is to install a small mesh filter online so it is easier and quicker to open and get the fish out but if that is difficult to do (poor access to filter or your filter might leak if opening and closing too often, you could stop anything (fish/debris) from even entering your intake line. In this video, I show how to build & install easily & inexpensively a small filter to do just that. If you do not find a small piece of SS mesh, you could also use mesh in plastic … If you have a scuba tank and a air nozzle it is actually quite easier and quick to disconnect the intake water hose from the pump and blow some air burst to reverse anything anywhere in the system as you see in the video. Filmed in 2020.

We are at Wadi el gemal, a beautiful island a bit south of Marsa Alam and the conditions are almost perfect! On the 17th of April 2020 we left marina Port Ghalib in Egypt, heading south towards Sudan and Djibouti and finally Maldives. We will take it easy, enjoy the beautiful reefs of the red sea and keep an eye on the corona regulations of the ports we pass. Since many countries are closed we don't know where we will be allowed to go on land again, but we can survive 4 month without seeing anybody :) This journey is only a small part of our trip that started 2 years ago. We got the sailing- skills on our friends yacht 'Shalom' when we joined them on a trip from the Netherlands to Spain. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtDOpi7ydzdcRK1H7fEiQFQ . In Spain we decided to go with our own boat, and in no time we were the happy owners of 'Messenger'. We left may 2018 and started vlogging from the beginning, we made 15 minute video's of our adventures, the nature and the many special people we met. We cooperated with OM to visit their projects and film them on our way. Since 19 of March we started with a daily vlog due to the corona situation. We plan to keep doing this the coming months. Hi, In this video we are showing the full renovation of our 37ft narrowboat Grayswood to date. These upgrades have been carried out during August 2019 and May 2020. Our boat isnt yet complete as we still have a couple of jobs still to do. We hope you enjoy this video. Kayleigh & Stephen. We’re Stephen and Kayleigh an English/ Scottish couple and along with our two dogs Hugo and Coco we will full time on board our 37ft narrowboat Grayswood. After living nearly two years in our self-converted campervan we decided we needed more space. So, as a compromise (Ste wanted a boat, I was happy in the van) we decided we would purchase a boat after spending some time on our friend’s narrowboat. Grayswood was conveniently located less that 5 minutes from my work and was found kind of by accident. I was visiting a friend who was staying in Aston Marina and whilst we were out walking the dogs, I seen the advert for Grayswood. I said to my friend “that looks a nice boat” and as I said it the marina manager appeared and asked if we would like a look inside. Naturally we did. After looking inside, the boat I texted Ste and told him I’d found us a boat. We made an offer after going back for a second viewing, after some negotiations within a week she was ours pending a survey. She was hauled out the following week and the survey went well. We kept her out on the hard standing for a further six weeks whilst we renovated the insides including fitting a new kitchen and bathroom. Subscribe and welcome aboard - follow us on our narrowboat journey, where we will show what its really like living on the English waterways. New video released every Monday. This week we FINALLY installed our brand new mast on our once abandoned boat!! Yeah!! We are now a sailboat again!! Thanks so much to our Patreons and partners that made this mast project possible! Thanks a lot: Nautos, Spinlock, B&G, Optolamp and Manotaço. We’re Duca and Roberta, a Brazilian couple that have bought a 44ft steel sailboat (Dinieper Tropic 1200) that was abandoned on the hard for 22 years in Guarujá, Brazil. We are on the mission of refitting her to travel the world taking our house with us! Before we found our dream boat we had another cool project: we were building our Tiny Shipping Container House by ourselves, without any prior experience to be our land base in our hometown, Florianópolis (Brazil). In this week's video, we've been told that we're allowed to sail from bay to bay in Grenada. Not needing to be told twice, we haul anchor and set off for a sail to the southern side of Grenada. The sail shakes off some cobwebs from our boat and also our crew as we haven't been allowed to move for the month prior. We arrive in Prickly Bay to collect a package and while there we're informed that an hour of exercise a day is being reintroduced back into our life! The kayak gets blown up again and running shoes get put on... a first for many years! We finish up with some funny anecdotes of our crew's life while in lockdown and how we've come to appreciate our freedom now that we're getting to see some of it return. SEASON 6 / The Haul Out : Episode #132 : THE SPLASH! and an offering to Poseidon Hello Friends! I thought the day would never come! After 5 weeks on the water (I thought we would be out for 5 days) and an inconceivable amount of work we finally splashed Triteia with only moments to spare before the boat yard shut down for Christmas Holiday! It was a VERY stressful moment for me when she was back floating again, hoping I had done everything correctly, many of the jobs, like installing thru-hulls and patching large holes, I had never done before so I was TERRIFIED to say the least. Turns out I did everything the right way and she was happily watertight. After we were floating and all the seacocks were checked and triple checked Camille made an offering to Poseidon with a bottom of Rum given to us by our friends Shane and Brook the day we were hauled out. On next weeks Episode Camille, her best friend Andre and myself Sail the boat home! If you enjoy our channel please "Like" the videos and Subscribe so you don't miss any future episodes. #beautifulbeaches #fallingoftheboat #nomorewine We check out of The Bahamas as we will need clearance in Bermuda. We find an anchorage in this beautiful beach to wait for a weather window to leave. Simon opens the last bottle of wine, what a disaster, no wine for the next 3 weeks at least. We go to Hope Town and on the way out we hit the bottom and Carla nearly goes over board. The life lines on the boat stopped her but it was a big fall. Luckily nothing more than bruises and painful ribs. That was a close one. Thank you very much, you guys are amazing supporting us with your likes and comments, we really feel that we have a new family out there. Much love Carla & Simon A little bit about us... We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it. Much love Carla and Simon

World under sail, episode 24. Rough Atlantic crossing for two, beyond the clichés of sunshine and trade winds. http://annamera.de Seit sechs Jahren leben wir unseren Traum von einer Weltreise unter Segeln. City Sailing Scotlands Gems - Pucks Glen This video is about Pucks Glen tucked away up the valley behind the Holy Loch and just before Benmore Gardens. This is a 2-hour walk but give yourself more time to be amazed by the beauty and wonder and close your eves to see the pucks of fairies that live here from before the path was made in Victorian times. If you want a shorter walk, carry on from the car park past the holiday homes and turn right up the river to be amazed by the river, waterfalls and prehistoric valley, you would not be surprised to see a dinosaur around the next corner. The paths are clearly shown on the map at the car park you can go right to the top but it can get muddy and have long bracken in the summer. We walk up the steep path from the car park through the woods and descend the waterfall path, it is a lovely two hours. If you have little people there are steep drops and slippery surfaces. In the winter with a good frost, you will be rewarded with ice walls and frozen waterfalls. Enjoy and remember to only take photographs and leave footprints, take all your rubbish home to leave this as a perfect spot. Paul www.citysailing.com
