This AZIMUT 74 SOLAR has been sold. We wish the new owners many happy years aboard! Built in 2002 and launched in 2003. A very luxurious, private owned hardtop fly bridge cruiser. How to get weather at sea with Predictwind on A Raymarine Chart Plotter, paired with the Iridium GO! This combination is a modern, reliable way to for getting weather at sea, getting weather offshore. It is used by many sailboats sailing around the world, to get weather forecasts at sea, when no internet signal is available. Rebecca Childress gives a basic tutorial on how to use Predictwind using the Iridium GO, on her Raymarine chartplotter on her Valiant 40 'Brick House'..or at least the basics of what is used on sailboat Brick House. This is the last edited video of famous circumnavigator Patrick Childress of Patrick Childress Sailing, as well as the last ocean passage by the Childress's together. This sailing app tutorial is a demonstration of how we get our weather at sea using the Iridium GO, and Predictwind Offshore on our Raymarine Chartplotter, while at sea, with no internet connection, . Rebecca shows step by step how she gets 4 weather forecasts; the PWE, PWG, ECMWF and GFS, to get wind, wave, pressure, rain, gusts, CAPE, and ocean current forecast. She touches on weather Routing using the 4 weather forecasts, how she analyzes the 4 weather forecasts to make decisions on what route to take, so we know when we will get bad weather and need to seek shelter. Ocean current models play a big role as well, though she does not demonstrate ocean currents in this episode. She touched upon the benefits of ocean current forecasting in the marine forecasts in a previous video.
