We installed our water maker 💦& we had our scariest storm hit us this week.🌊 We installed our water maker just before the storm hit this week! It has taken months of planning and preparation to finally get to this stage of our water maker but we can finally install it 💦 Chris Boock was his ever helpful self and organized everything that we needed for it to be put together. We were given the cells by the previous owner and just had to piece the rest of it together. The small Jabsco parmax 24V pump pushes the salt water up from the skin fitting below the waterline and through the 20 micron and then a 5 micron filter, the water then flows through a Karcher K2 which then pumps it through the desalination membranes in the cells at 60bar pressure and after it has worked it’s way through the membranes you have fresh drinkable water!!! Robin made all the brackets that all of the pieces of the water maker fitted into inside of the forward locker adjacent to the anchor locker. After they were all painted with Flowcoat, Colben dry fitted all the pieces in their places to make sure they all fitted properly before finally fitting it all back in place permanently and attaching all the pipes and valves. We are slowly on our way to being self sufficient and living off of the grid! We weathered one of our worst storms yet. With everyone at the marina on high alert and telling us that the supposed marina architect was telling people that the marina was not designed for the intensity storm that was headed our way! This did not comfort us at all. We moved all our tools and supplies off of the dock and stored it in the “Shed”, one of the cabins in the yacht. We were also told that the possibility of the docks and fingers breaking apart was a possibility which made us feel even worse! Cue the P A N I C. Karen has the usual tears of panic the night before the storm was predicted to hit. We prepared the best we could by tying up to the dock, hanging extra fenders and making sure we had spare lines at the ready. We woke to 51 knot gusts on Monday morning around 2am and the wind was sustained between 30 - 40 knots. None of us got much sleep after that. Colben was up and down the docks intermittently from 3am checking that other boats were still okay as well as Chris Boock’s boat on the dock next to ours. The temperatures dropped throughout the day. We expected 10.5 meter swells to be coming straight over the marina wall from the West at 2/3pm that same day. Surprisingly the peak of the swell we received was on Monday evening when the swell was predicted to be calming down. We all went on high alert because we were being thrown around the yacht like never before due to the swell coming through the marina. At 2am on Tuesday morning Colben and Teagan woke to a noise that sounded like a gunshot, Colben was up and out of bed in seconds and discovered that our mid ships cleat had sheered one of the two 8mm bolts holding the cleat to the yacht. In a frantic panic we were all woken up and helping to try sort out the problem. Once again after all this action we got very little sleep once again. It is safe to say everyone’s moods had taken a slump and we had very short tempers with each other 🌪 so Tuesday evening we were all in bed early and getting our much needed beauty sleep in the knowledge that the worst was over and we had got through yet another storm. Siamo arrivati a Porto Mirabello a La Spezia! #MaseratiMulti70 Sito web: https://maserati.soldini.it/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/giovannisoldini/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/giovanni_soldini/ Twitter: https://www.twitter.com/giovannisoldini/

We are back on the water. Passion, fun and sharing were at the heart of two days of sailing in Saint-Tropez, in the South of France, at the Southern Wind Boutique Rendezvous, an event created by Southern Wind to offer the thrill of authentic superyacht sailing to a passionate group of owners and guests. Three yachts were on hand to fly the Southern Wind banner: the award-winning SW96 Seatius, SW105 Wolfhound - with her charter crew ready to start their summer season - and L'Ondine, graciously representing the iconic SW100 mini-series. The first Offshore event for the Royal Malta Yacht Club, after the resumption of racing was a weekend regatta to Marina di Ragusa. The event was put together soon after it became possible to sail to Sicily again and in spite of the short notice managed to attract a good sized fleet.

Charlie Dalin at the helm of the white and yellow foiler, Apivia, was the first skipper to reach the Gallimard Waypoint this morning as he turned his bow eastwards for the final stretch of the Vendée-Arctique-Les Sables d’Olonne Race. The 36-year-old Frenchman based at Port-la-Fôret was making about seven knots of boatspeed in very light airs as the leaders continued to battle their way through the high pressure system centred to the west of them. Dalin had been fighting hard to keep Jérémie Beyou behind him on Charal and the margin at the mark was less than two miles. Behind Beyou, in turn, came Thomas Ruyant on LinkedOut, about three miles behind Dalin. The three boats are so close that one mistake from any of the exhausted skippers will be enough to see the lead change hands again as they begin the 540-mile leg to the finish line off Les Sables d’Olonne. The further east they get, the further away from the centre of the high, the more breeze they will have from the north-northwest. The order at the Gallimard mark – a virtual turning point – reminds us that it has been these three skippers who have dominated the leading positions at key moments in this extraordinary race. One thousand miles further north at the IOC-UNESCO Waypoint – another imaginary lump of iron in the middle of the ocean – it was Ruyant who sneaked around in front with Dalin in second place and Beyou third, all within three miles. From now to the finish the cumulative exhaustion that these sailors have experienced could become the key determinant of who takes the honours. As the breeze strengthens, there will be more opportunities for sleep, but as the skippers close the French coast they will also have to deal with more commercial traffic and fishing boats, so it is not going to be easy. The stats tell an amazing story for a race that initially had looked more like a training run than a full-on battle for glory. The lead has changed hands over the last nearly nine days no less than 33 times as the fleet has crossed various weather systems heading north and then south. Since the start, meanwhile, Dalin had covered 2,707.5 miles by the Gallimard Waypoint, in eight days, 18 hours and four minutes at an average speed of 12.90 knots, just 0.10 knots faster than Beyou. It’s been that tight… Behind the leading trio the next couple of skippers are not completely out of this yet. Kévin Escoffier is fourth in PRB (+9.3) with Samantha Davies on Initiatives-Coeur fifth, another five miles back. Then there is a big gap to Yannick Bestaven on Maître CoQ IV in sixth place (+32.3) who is eleven miles ahead of Fabrice Amadeo on Newrest-Art et Fenêtres. Boris Herrmann, who had been leading the fleet in the earlier light wind phases, is now in eighth position on Seaexplorer-YC de Monaco, having slipped back after damaging the headboard car on his mainsail. Isabelle Joschke on MACSF who broke her boom, is now 115 miles off the leading pace in 13th position. Remarkably, the top-12 boats are spread out this morning over only 75 miles of ocean on a north-south axis. After Joschke, who is sailing with no one else around her, the final four boats are continuing south in a loose group with about 90 miles of lateral separation. They are led by Manuel Cousin on Groupe SÉTIN (+251) in 14th position, followed by Arnaud Boissières on La Mie Câline-Artisans Artipôle (+253), then Miranda Merron on Campagne de France (+284) and finally Clément Giraud on Vers Un Monde Sans Sida (+295). The estimated finish time for the first boat off Les Sables d’Olonne is around midnight on Tuesday.

Pracy jest ogrom, wydawało by się, że ogarnie się to w 3 miesiące. jacht jest rozebrany w pył. W rzeczywistości jest zupełnie inaczej, za co się nie zabiorę wychodzi co innego :(. Kolejny etap to wybebeszenie reszty gratów i rozkręcenie takielunku. Trzymajcie kciuki !

With the ports and harbours of the south coast opening up last weekend, I have taken the opportunity to sail to Fowey and back, staying away from my home port for the first time since February. We had porpoise, sunfish and an unknown something (maybe Morgawr). We`ve also been messing around in dinghy`s, sailing with Alice, anti-fouling Mum and Dads boat, and even squeezed in some walking. A very quiet week!!

FREE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM DOWNLOAD FOR BOATERS: https://sailingbritican.com/electrical-system-download-request/ Every cruising sailor knows it’s important to maintain their sails and rigging and keep their engine running smoothly. A lot of attention is also paid to electronics – fancy chart plotters, high definition radar, LED lighting, and more. But owners often neglect an equally important, if not more important, thing - boat electrical systems! Boat electrical systems can quickly seem complex and overwhelming. Boat wiring quickly scrambles people’s brains, and electrocution when trying to solve problems is a legitimate fear. Sometimes, a lack of knowledge of your boat’s electrical systems can lead to very serious consequences. It doesn't have to be this way. Watch our video to learn more. Matt Sheahan from the YouTube channel Planet Sail in the UK has put one of Jeanneau's latest models, the Sun Fast 3300 through it's paces in the Solent near Hamble, UK. "I’ve been wanting to test the Jeanneau Sun Fast 3300 for some time and when we were finally able to get back afloat the conditions were perfect. So, with fully crewed racing still proving tricky unless you all come from the same household, I got aboard a boat that is spot on for these challenging times. This is a pocket rocket that was designed specifically for shorthanded racing and looks set to do well in an area of our sport that continues to grow by the season." For more information on the new Regency P65 Motor Yacht, please visit: https://www.seattleyachts.com/new-yachts-for-sale/Regency-P65 Decompress as you step aboard the Regency Yachts P65. Designed with a larger beam than most yachts in its class, and also considerably heavier, she rides comfortable and smooth in a seaway. The extra foot worked into the design coupled with the intelligent layout in the interior has resulted in one of the most luxurious motor yachts in the 60-to-70 foot range on the market today. Meant for owners interested in extended cruising from Alaska to the Caribbean and beyond, the Regency P65 is virtually loaded with all of the options and amenities possible to fit on a yacht. Captain Steve Larivee of BoatTest.com described the P65, "For people wanting a family cruising vessel, for operation far from home, we think the Regency P65 should be considered because of her attention to important mechanical details and her equipment list. She is far better equipped than most trawler types we see, and certainly more so than the lower-priced vessels coming out of Europe."

We resolved our engine overheating issue and sail to Emerald Bay, Catalina Island. Not much wind for the trip to the island means a bit of motoring. After a pleasant night on a mooring, we motor down the coast of Catalina and have a nice sail back to San Pedro. Follow the Keeldragger Sailing Blog and Tracker: https://bit.ly/3CxpYlk

I see a viking ship as Corona Tourist in my own home town As for everyone else the Corona pandemic forced me to alter my plans and do things different. Sailing in Greece was no longer an option for a while, so I took the cameras I had at hand and started touristing in my own back yard. It is funny how you want to explore and learn about exotic places, but you forgot to visit the sights close to you. At least that is true for me. So, season 4 will be different. I want to show you my great country of Norway, and I am starting with some of the sights in my own home area. This video is focusing on Nordfjordeid where my father lives. Here I am visiting a brand New Viking Ship Museum only a few hundred meters from my fathers house. This Viking Ship is a replica of one of the biggest viking ships ever found, and this was in a grave only 200 meters from this museum. You can still see the Viking grave today nearby. I will then show you Kannesteinen, Refviksanden and Kråkenes Fyr (lighthouse) in Målöy, and then we go to Hoddevik in Stad to see surfing in Norway and talk to some of them. We also find more Viking history when we visit Olavskrossen, a monument over where the local Vikings were christened in year 997. We then go to see Vestkapp and Hoddevik. Drone footage from surfing in Hoddevik was supplied by Stad Surfing www.stadsurfing.no 00:00 Intro 00:54 Nordfjordeid 01:26 Sagastaden viking ship museum Nordfjordeid / Sagastaden vikingskip museum 03:01 Torskangerpoll, Måløy 03:28 Kannesteinen, Måløy 04:14 Refvik, Refviksanden, Refvik beach, Måløy 05:12 Kråkenes, Måløy 06:00 Kråkenes Fyr, Kråkenes Lighthouse, Måløy 06:57 Hoddevik, Stad 08:02 Surfing in Hoddevik, Stad.
