In this weeks episode we obviously hauled our boat assuming that if it Tropical Storm Gonzalo was upgraded into a hurricane, we would prepared and strapped down. The weather man wasn't on top form this time and it turned into blue skies and a mild 10 knots of wind... a lot of fuss for nothing. So we got down into some boat work we'd also thought we could tackle while we were hauled out... namely a replacement cutlass bearing and to put some antifouling on our prop. While the boat was hauled, we added another item to the to do list after seeing how dirty the hull was and new antifouling was now in order. A lucky coincidence a few days into our yard time lead to a nearby boat offloading their traveller track to us! So yet another project was added to our list and Adam turned a mild shade of 'umpa lumpa' in an attempt to make it fit our boat! Season 7 : Episode #144 : Adventures at Little Harbor Hello Friends, On this episode we go for a hike out to Rippers Point to see the beautiful view of Little Harbor and Shark Lagoon. On the walk out there a Catalina Conservancy worker stopped in his truck and told us of a small water fall near Cottonwood Beach that we should check out so we went on a mission to find it! After locating the falls and amazing little lagoon / grotto we made our way down to the Cottonwood Beach for a snack. After seeing a large group of hikers didn't stay at the lagoon we hurried back to enjoy some skinny dipping in the freshwater. Catalina has such a desert feel to it that this place felt like an oasis! Such an magical little spot. If you are ever at Little Harbor you really must visit this waterfall and lagoon. 23 juillet, Mafia island, ne vous laissez pas abuser par le nom ! « Mafia » n’a pas la définition que nous lui connaissons, le mot serait une dérive du swahili mahali pa afya signifiant lieu d’habitation sain. Comme Kilwa Kisiwani, l’île constituait à l’époque une étape pour les navires arabes, perces et swahilies. De nos jours, une grande partie de ses côtes sont devenues parc marin pour protéger les écosystèmes tropicaux. Atteindre la notoire depuis notre domicile mouvant s’avère quelque peu acrobatique si l’on veut y débarquer à n’importe quel moment de la journée car l’estran s’étend très loin de la côte. Le seul moyen que nous trouvons est d’apponter notre annexe au bout de l’immense ponton du port commercial et d’escalader les deux mètres de sa hauteur en usant des pneus préinstallés servant de pare-battages ! De simples incursions, nos grimpettes donnent un côté téméraire à nos sorties que l’on veut quotidiennes. La première journée nous amène donc à repérer notre environnement le plus proche qui se trouve être le port commercial, et quel port ! Les moussons, ici, ralentiraient-elle la révolution terrestre ? Le vent nous aurait-il téléporté dans le temps ? Nous aimons nous abandonner à cette idée et nous laissons complètement envouter dans le théâtre mobile de cette immobile éternité ! Dans cet indicible paysage, nous nous imprégnions des légendes et des mythes marins, de Sinbad et Marco Polo… La voix du muezzin résonne dans le petit matin blême. Les coques en bois des boutres sont posées à même le sable, la mer s’est retirée le temps de quelques heures et les dockers avec la seule force de leurs bras déchargent et chargent les tonnes de ballots ordonnancés à la vente. Plus loin, un attroupement se crée, des pêcheurs viennent de rentrer. Une criée est improvisée. Les femmes vêtues de tissus colorés, une bassine sur la tête, attendent… Elles patientent pour récupérer le poisson… Certaines, assises sur la plage, sont déjà à l’écaillage, et d’autres sous quelques cases amalgamées de tôles et de bribes de planches, à la friture des futurs repas. Malgré ces présences féminines, le milieu est plutôt masculin et dans cet affairement intense, les voix ont vite fait de monter. Par moment, l’ambiance agitée pourrait rendre mal à l’aise la Jacouille que je suis et faire fuir des baroudeuses solitaires mais le grouillement de ce tohu-bohu est d’ordinaire ! Les cargaisons se pressent, les matelots embarquent et déjà proche de l’horizon, les singulières voiles de ces embarcations d’un autre temps s’éloignent… Trouvant certainement notre varappe de la veille un peu trop simple, nous avons la bonne idée d’ajouter un peu de difficulté à notre sport journalier, la charge de nos deux vélos ! L’exercice n’est pas simple mais nous sommes gentiment aidés par de serviables Mafia men et non mafiosos comme le nom de l’île pourrait le faire supposer ! Nous nous sommes fixés de traverser la belle d’Ouest en Est, quatorze kilomètres. En vélo, la distance est relativement simple même sans ma batterie et par vent de face ! Faut dire que la route goudronnée ne présente aucune difficulté particulière, sans réel cachet, elle en est même un choya monotone, mais la voix est censée nous mener au parc marin de la baie de Chole. Nous y allons plus pour nous divertir avec nos vélos et par curiosité que pour faire une bronzette sur la plage, car à vrai dire dès que le « label » stipule « attraction touristique », nous sommes toujours un peu sur nos gardes ! Vous allez peut-être penser que nous sommes dédaigneux, ce n’est pas le cas, cette réticence envers les lieux sous projecteurs des professionnels du voyage n’est pas arrivée toute seule ! Avec les années, nous avons pu constater que rares sont les pôles d’intérêts naturels spécialement aménagés dans le but de recevoir des touristes qui nous ont subjugué ! Je m’explique, à la base, ce n’est pas que les sites en question ne sont pas dignes d’attentions, c’est simplement que l’exploitation intensive de ces destinations, en font souvent des parcs « attrape-couillons ». Attention, loin de moi l’idée d’incriminer ces axes, ils sont pour chaque pays sources de revenus et d’activités économiques et ont forcément été choisis pour leurs beautés mais malheureusement l’afflux de visiteurs fait souvent perdre le côté unique de ces lieux et bien fréquemment des tarifs prohibitifs y sont pratiqués afin de profiter des touristes de manière excessive ! On est fou de joie de quitter Nassau et traverser à Allan’s Cay, notre première île des Exumas. On y passe quelques jours à l’ancre et visite ses seuls habitants, des iguanes que nous nourrissons de pommes. Ensuite, on continu notre descente vers le sud jusqu’à Norman’s Cay pour explorer l’épave d’avion du Cartel Medellín de Pablo Escobar et visiter les îles avoisinantes. Nach einer kurzen Nacht - wir waren erst kurz vor Mitternacht in der Marina eingelaufen - ging es von Cuxhaven aus weiter die Elbe rauf Richtung Nord-Ostsee-Kanal in Brunsbüttel. Der neue Liegeplatz in Heiligenhafen an der Ostsee wartete schließlich auf uns! Am Morgen machten wir Mystra klar, versorgten wir uns noch mit einem Fischbrötchen und bunkerten Diesel, bevor wir mit dem Strom im Nacken die Elbe hoch motorten. Passo a passo para você fazer o seu próprio sourdough em casa. Bom apetite. Esta receita rende dois pães: 900g farinha 680g água 200g fermento natural 16g sal Autólise por 1 hora e 20 minutos. Lâminação e dobras a cada 30 minutos nas primeiras 2 horas depois que adicionou o levain. Fermentação por 2 horas. Descansar 30 minutos depois da pré-modelagem e mais 15 minutos no banneton antes de ir para a geladeira por 10 horas. Preaquecer o forno a 265 graus com a panela de barro por 1 hora. Assar o pão a 265 graus por 20 minutos na panela com tampa e mais 20 minutos a 230 graus na panela sem tampa.

We are at Istres anchorage in France where we acquired an optimist sailing dingy and modified it to an electric 55lbs thrust monster. We relaxed for a week before we set sail to colera in Spain. Just a few short clips due to narly weather, I could not film the whole trip as it was too dangerous due to being screwed over with the bridge timings we had to have 3 attempts to get out of the lake then we were 3 hours late which turned the Pyrenees mountains into a unforgiving lunatic.
