We continue to try to remove our rudder but it just won't fall off! The bolts in the rudder foot are seized and we try every trick in the book to get them loose. Eventually we end up drilling them out and discover why they wouldn't come out on their own. Then we set up to drop the rudder, ready for its weight to plummet to the ground. Unsere erste Woche in Slowenien. Vom Mitananda-Hof sind wir mit dem Wohnmobil nach Maribor gefahren. Eine schöne Stadt in der es viel zu entdecken gibt. Wie z. Weiter ging es für uns Richtung Westen. Bei Grad Žovnek haben wir einen Zwischenstop am See eingelegt und die Burg erkundet bevor es dann einen Tag später in den Triglav Nationalpark ging. We finally head north after COVID lock-down to find warmer weather. We pass through Bribie Island and Mooloolaba before tucking into the lagoon that has formed inside Double Island Point. We check out the walk to the lighthouse and dive Wolf Rock once again.

A race around the Isle of Wight on Saturday 1st August marked the return to competitive racing at the Royal Ocean Racing Club, the first since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. 133 boats took part. Multihull Line Honours went to PowerPlay, helmed by Peter Cunningham. MOD70 PowerPlay, skippered by Ned Collier Wakefield, with Peter Cunningham on the tiller also did the double winning the MOCRA Class “I have been in quarantine for 14 days, so that was a release!” smiled Peter Cunningham. “That is the first time I have raced around the island. The sun was shining, a beautiful day, a great boat, top crew and a fun race. This was a fantastic way to come out of quarantine. We plan to do more RORC racing during August and September.”

In this episode, we travel to the Southern most island in the Ragged Island chain in search of protection from an impending storm. The Ragged's are known for having few islands that offer wind protection from every angle but thankfully, we were able to make it all the way to the bottom of the chain before it arrived and still had time for a fantastic dive upon anchoring. Not only did we see lots of sea life on our dive but our passage down was chock full of visits from sea creatures. Traveling through the Ragged Islands is like visiting an aquarium - There is so much to see and you don't have to work hard to see it - You can see hundreds and hundreds of feet in the distance, all from the cockpit. We caught four Barracuda, were visited by a pod of dolphins, and spotted a shark traveling through the clear water along side us.
