My least favorite thing to do! Clean the bilge. It's a dirty job but somebody has to do it. We currently have two bilge pumps, a Rule 2000 and a Seaward 750. The 750 is placed lower so it comes on first. The float switch on the 2000 is placed higher so it only comes on if the boat is taking on a lot of water. The refrigerator and ice box have drains going into the bilge. The showers have Jabsco 37202-0000 diaphragm sump pumps, they can run dry, which connect overboard. We’ve been back in the water a few days but have only gone for a race on Adrianna1, so it’s time to get some water flowing under the hull and hoist the sails again. We left from Tyrell bay in Carriacou to Anse la Roche, an anchorage on the northern side of the island. We get to use our new (to us) traveller that we recently installed for the first time and are so happy with the results! After a great sail, we head to the beautiful anchorage. The next day we meet some friends who are also there and Adam is persuaded to take his kite board for a spin being towed behind the dinghy. For the rest of the afternoon we have some fun wake boarding and wiping out. After hearing of our success being towed behind a dinghy, a new friend on a power cat wants to up the game and takes Adam out to be towed behind the big boat... and there is a big amount of wake! A few days later, to loosen up the sore limbs, we head for a walk up to the peak of a nearby mountain. The wand of spiders comes out of retirement and we meet a few tortoise along the way. The peak was beautiful and we got the drone flying too! Season 7 : Episode #148 : A Passage to Isthmus Cove and Anchoring in a Steady Breeze Hello Friends, On this weeks episode we leave Cat Harbor and Motorsail around the front of the island to Little Fisherman's Cove near Isthmus Cove. Little Fisherman's Cove is the only shallow water anchorage on the North side of the Isthmus and this was our first time anchoring there. The anchorage is narrow and squeezed between a cliff face and a mooring field. When we arrived it was blowing a steady 15 knots with gusts of 17+. As we approached we could see there were 4 boats already anchored there Bow/Stern spaced out accordingly. Which meant we would have to anchor right in the middle of all 4 and not get blown into any of the boats or the cliff face. We pulled it off without any drama but it was a learning experience. After we were sure the hooks were set we went a shore and then on a dinghy adventure at sunset to checkout the sea caves in our new anchorage. Durante a passagem da tempestade, eu tinha inventado de cozinhar horrores, assei mini quiches, fiz tortilhas, burritos, tudo com tema mexicano, em homenagem à gentileza do Gonzalito! O bolo foi o ponto final da função cozinha, que eu inventei para me manter longe do computador, checando a previsão a cada 5 minutos e quase enlouquecendo. Foi um dia só para ir ao mercado, mais 3 dias cozinhando e uma tarde decorando o Barba Negra para festejar com os amigos. Verdade seja dita aqui nesse pequeno confessionário, a festa foi tão animada que foi até às 4h da manhã e terminou com uma das aniversariantes (claro que não a mais comportada) dando um mergulho... a ressaca valeu a pena!
