✍️20 septembre, j’adore me laisser envouter par ce silence si pur et à peine perturbé par le chant des oiseaux. Tout semble si saint, si préservé de la main de l’Homme. Comme en mer, un sentiment de quiétude nous emporte à la contemplation ! À mille huit cent mètres au-dessus de notre Blacky, la plaine à perte de vu en est presque océane de beauté. L’air n’y est pas iodé mais frais et enivrant ! Nous avons mis plus de six heures pour atteindre ces monts Usambara. Pourtant, deux cent kilomètres seulement nous séparaient d’eux, mais ici les distances ne veulent rien dire, tout dépend de l’état des routes et surtout des limitations de vitesses ! Car en Tanzanie, s’il est autorisé à rouler à plus de cent kilomètres heures entre deux villages, vu qu’il y a des « vijiji » tous les cinq kilomètres, le laps de temps où l’on ne doit pas dépasser les cinquante est très court, et mieux vaut ne pas faire infractions ! Con-signés en de brefs intervalles, près de petites guérites, des officiers en uniforme étonnamment blanc, contrôlent et stoppent sans hésitation toutes les voitures qui peuvent leur passer sous le nez et faute de fautes, sans scrupule, un délit peut vite vous être attribué ! Outre ce débordement d’autorité sur les voies principales, sortit de celles-ci, le ralentissement devient inévitable par la défectuosité de la chaussée qui se transforme peu à peu en chemin de terre pour déboucher sur des pistes très accidentées ! L’authenticité de ces hors-pistes, ordinaire pour le peuple Mbugu devient notre découverte et dans le ballotement incessant de notre voiture nous sommes comme happés par l’âme de ce pays intense ! Aurions-nous trouvé ce paradis perdu sans nos amis qui nous y ont mené ? Niché sur les crêtes de falaises escarpées, le Mambo View Point nous charme de son cachet vertigineux. Créé par Marion er Herman, cet éco-loge a permis de développer un écosystème durable et positif dans ce petit village isolé du monde. Découvert par l’un des explorateurs de Vaolo, cette initiative à toutes les qualités qui enrichissent le voyage et permettent de partager sainement avec les locaux. I did skydiving for the first time in Brazil. It was simply insane! You jump of a plane that is flying at 12.000 feet or 4.000 meters high! Heikle Situationen bleiben da nicht aus: Ein Frachter mitten in der Nacht auf Kollisionskurs, gerissene Segel, Beschläge am Mast, die sich einfach lösen, oder ein Tauchunfall, als der Anker sich am Grund verkeilt. Die dramatischste Situation aber ist, als sich in einem Sturm die Reffleine der Genua verheddert. Beim Versuch sie zu lösen, kommt Kummers Hand in die Klemme. Er ist gefangen. Das Steuer ist zu weit entfernt, um den Katamaran in den Wind zu fahren, stoisch bleibt der Autopilot hart am Wind. Nah der Ohnmacht muss Kummer eine Entscheidung treffen: Um sich zu befreien, gibt es nur eine Möglichkeit. Er muss die Klemme lösen. Doch auf der Reffleine lastet ein tonnenschwerer Druck, der ihm die Hand abtrennen könnte.

We vervolgen onze oversteek van Harlingen naar Thyborøn over de Noordzee. We hebben een flinke wind in de rug en naarmate we ons doel naderen bouwen de golven zich op. Het venijn zit 'm in de staart. Voordat we de Limfjord in kunnen varen krijgen we een paar forse buien over ons heen en draait de wind. Voor Lemvig blijven we in een visnet steken. Uiteindelijk komen we veilig aan en kunnen we Lemvig ontdekken en mooie wandelingen maken. Kijk je mee? We horen graag wat je ervan vind. Wij zijn Ben en Felia. Purely because we have had a lot of very bad thunderstorms recently with strong winds and lots of lightning. There were a few boats that had left, only to turn around and come back when a bad storm catches them out. The problem with these storms are they are so localised that they are not forecast. You generally just need to wake up in the morning and check if there are any around you and then make the decision to leave. We did all our checks and although we had a bit of rain, it was not too bad. The problem was we had no wind so had to motor all the way there! We had heard about the San Blas and how beautiful they were. But nothing really prepares you. If someone says to you "Imagine Paradise" I bet most people will imagine deserted, palm fringed, white beaches, surrounded by coral reefs and tropical fish. Well that describes The San Blas Islands perfectly! They simply are paradise! We arrived quite late in the day, and it wasn't as bright as we would have liked it to be in order to see the proximity to the reefs. Add to this the fact that the charts in this area are generally inaccurate or hard to see exactly where you are. We dropped anchor at sunset in "the swimming pool" anchorage, which is named for the clarity of its water. We knew we were slightly close to our friends boat once the anchor was set, but decided it was safer to stay where we were due to the failing light and the vast number of reefs surrounding us. We figured we could easily move in the morning when the light was better and we were well rested. We couldn't have been more wrong! When we woke up the next morning we could see a storm brewing in the distance. It looked like it was going to pass us by, however in a very short amount of time the wind changed direction and the storm blew our way, swinging the boats in all directions. We soon realised that we should have moved our anchor the night before instead of waiting, as we found ourselves very close to our friends on Sailing Vessel Challenge. Shawn started the engines so that if we did get to close we could quickly get away. Luckily it was all ok. As the islands are so small and flat they offer little protection in the anchorages, and your boat can swing all the way around on its anchor during one storm as the wind rapidly changes. As soon as it cleared we decided to move further away, which was a great idea as it meant we had the other anchorage all to ourselves, along with our own island to explore. After dropping anchor I made some bread to take to our old neighbours, to apologise for our mistake. They were absolutely fine with us, apparently you need to experience a San Blas storm in order to see why anchoring with lots of space around you is an absolute must! So now we know!!! There were so many reefs around us that we all could not wait to get out and explore. The next morning was beautiful! Shawn quickly put the drone up so that we could get a good view of what was around us. It was stunning! With the drone we spotted a sandy patch on the reef which was covered in Star Fish, so we hopped in the dinghy to go and see them. They were huge, and there were so many of them we couldn't keep count! We watched them shuffle along the sand for ages, marvelling at their colours and sizes. It really was magical! We loved paddle boarding around the reef near us. There were so many fish and coral heads that you didn't even need to snorkel, you could see it all from your paddle board. At one stage I had 3 big trigger fish following me, I didn't paddle anywhere near the boys as I knew they would want to hook onto one of my new found friends! It felt like I was taking them out for a walk. We stayed in this anchorage for a week, and got so much footage that we need to break it up into manageable pieces. This is made easy with the addition of a self-tacking headsail, and by the fact that all lines are run aft to two electric winches. The mainsail can be controlled from either helm position and the engine, windlass and bow thruster controls are all within easy reach of the starboard helm's position. Tengeru sails beautifully in a fresh 20-25kt breeze on the gentle waters of Pittwater. Helming is a dream with her responsive twin carbon wheels as she powers through the water easily making 8-9kts on a reach. Power systems include upgraded batteries, 4 x flexi solar panels mounted on the bimini and a Fisher Panda Generator, and a 75hp turbo Volvo diesel engine. The yacht's interior offers a large comfortable saloon and dining area and in-line galley in immaculate condition. Tengeru has a 3-cabin 2-head interior and can sleep 6 with an additional saloon berth for additional overnight accommodation. The yacht oozes luxury and style with the classic teak decks and Hanse fittings which include reverse cycle air conditioning, Miele kitchen appliances, a Fusion Stereo system and retractable island Tv/DvD player.
