Our second video from Alor, this week we visit the Quran festival at a small traditional town on the coast. They celebrate and re-enact when they were gifted an 800 year old Koran. It was really nice to see everyone dressed up in the traditional Ikat woven cloth and also to be so welcomed there. People wore masks mostly but everyone was very friendly to us, asking me to photograph them and posing for me. Marie had been fascinated by the traditional Ikat weavers but we had some problems finding them Finally we got shown a place and we spent an afternoon there watching the whole process. Very cool to see the amount of work that goes into each one. Some cloths take an entire month to make and the owner will wear them on special occasions for life. Episode 146: My family came to visit & what do we do? Put them to work 😂😂 We changed up the swivel system on our anchor, tensioned up the forestay and rigging. Hung up some ties to neaten up our cockpit but then amongst all of this our head fresh water pump decided that it's pressure switch no longer wanted to work which means we had to replace that as well. It's always good to invest in a better product we have learnt aboard Lady Africa. Cheaper definitely doesn't mean better 🤣 We also decided to take a trip to Stellenbosch to visit family friends and went to Ernie Els Wine Farm. It was stunning and the food was even better. Ricky even managed to hit a "almost" hole in one. Covid has really been messing us around lately. As we finally got started on our sailing journey we got stopped dead in our tracks.. It's been a really long journey and we didn't give up before and we won't give up now. We have heard we will need to do a two week quarantine in Namibia upon arrival.. then we hear no.. we don't need to we just need covid tests and everything is just such a mess at the moment we are unsure if we are going to be leaving beginning of November.. we will have to see. Only time and weather will tell. See ya next week!! Along with other Frauscher models the 1212 Ghost features distinctive elements like the huge teak deck, frameless and tinted windscreen as well a straight bow design. The side air intakes – first featured on the 747 Mirage and then on the 1414 Demon – are further developed and give the side profile a very distinctive look. The back features a swooping design framing the generous teak bathing platform in spectacular fashion. Frauscher also sets new standards in the handling department: The driver sits exactly in the center line of the boat for a perfect view around the boat. The ergonomic helm design features a bow thruster as standard and an optional Joystick operation system. The displays and instruments are recessed to give a better view even in direct sunlight. The deep-V hull is a development of the innovations used on the 1414 Demon and the 858 Fantom – 2 boats known for their sensational handling and rough water abilities – and features two distinctive steps to push the boat onto plane faster and to accommodate a smooth and dry ride. Powered by twin sterndrive Mercruiser petrol engines with 430 HP each or twin sterndrive Volvo Penta D6-440 diesel engines the boat offers a range of up to 300 miles with its 850 liter fuel tank. Other technical details feature a standard fold-out anchor system which gives the captain complete control and view of the anchoring process without the need to leave the helm station. A warm water boiler, AC for the cabin, Diesel generator, high JL-Audio sound and ice maker are optional whereas a foldable Bimini top, full teak decking and fridges are standard. The three teak tables – two in the cockpit and one in the cabin – are all retractable and convert into beds. The cabin features a surprisingly spacious bathroom with sink, toilet and shower as well as a unique interior design with lots of indirect lighting.

I watched tons of videos about boats and sailing on youtube and got myself registered with dozen boat related forums and groups on a facebook... In May 2020 I came across a facebook post. Sergey was looking for a crew to bring his boat to the Caribbean. I travelled 1300 km from Montreal to Halifax to join him on his boat. The trip was cancelled two months later for legitimate reasons.  Since I made my way to Nova Scotia I decided to discover this beatiful province before going back to Montreal I have not given up on my dream of sailing. Nous sommes restés environ 2 semaines à São Nicolau au Cap-Vert. Sur les 4 îles que nous avons visité, São Nicolau c'est notre coup de coeur. C'est une île qui est très peu visitée car les accès par mer ou par air sont très réduits ce qui explique le peu de touristes. Ceux qui viennent sont attirés par les randonnées et sa géographie avec une partie nord très vert et très productive en fruits et légumes et sa partie sud plus sèche et plus orientée vers la pêche. Avec notre bateau nous sommes allés passer 3 jours à Carriçal à l'est de l'île. C'est un petit village hors du temps, sans radio, télévision, internet et seulement quelques heures d'électricité le soir grâce à des batteries alimentées par des panneaux solaires. Ikväll blev det tårar på Påskbergsvallen när en rörd tränare fick ställa in kvällens yogapass och istället ta emot ett stipendie hon aldrig trodde att hon skulle få. Och fira med jubel och lite kanelgifflar tillsammans med föreningen. ⭐️ Amanda är en ovanligt skicklig ledare och en stor inspiration till ungt ledarskap i föreningen. Hon har ett starkt driv till att både bygga gemenskapen i träningsgruppen men ser också de individuella behov, mål och förutsättningar varje aktiv har. ⭐️ Amanda tror på alla och allas förmågor oavsett och pushar till att forstätta utvecklas. Hon leder gruppen på ett fantastiskt bra sätt och lyssnar på alla. ⭐️ Hon brinner för friidrotten och tar ett stort ansvar både för föreningsens ungdomar men också i samtliga Hallands friidrottsklubbar. Nu senast som projektledare för Hallandslaget i Götalandsmästerskapen 2019.
