Actually I wanted to make a video about tacking and gybing, with the selftacker and twin tiller. Mounted one camera at the top of the mast and one at the Gennaker prod. Found that the mount on the mast top is not really ideal for getting good footage of details. Birdseye view is great for panoramic view. The waters here are looking terrible at the moment. This year first we have been suffering by the Corona virus, then it was the sea weed now the algae’s. Whats next?? 🤢😀

Vlog #22 We sail from Turtle Bay to Punta Abreojos overnight and had a surprise visitor. Jessica got hit by a duck???? in the middle of the night. Not too sure, some kind of avian creature. Let me know if you can correctly identify this wild specimen that illegally boarded my boat without permission! Then in the morning Trav got straight to catching tuna. One after the other until i finally had to make him pull the lines out, it was getting to be too much and the freezer was full. When we arrived at Punta Abreojos we had a nap and then went into town for supplies. Loved this town, it was super cute and everyone was sooooo nice. We had to do a surf landing in the dinghy. Trav told me that he would tell me when I should jump out. Of course I didnt listen, and jumped way too soon, straight into neck level water. Trav really was impressed and made fun of me all day about that stupidity. We finally got in and got our water and groceries and (tried) to cruise back to Decorum. Along the way our dinghy engine decided to randomly shut off and we were paddling for our lives. (Jessica paddling not actually shown, but DID happen) For real. There was no one around to save us and we were either going to be pushed over to Japan and have to get new passports orrrr? Not sure, that's all we had. Thank god at least we had just gone to town and gotten water and a bunch of groceries, who knows how long we'll be out here for. After struggling for days finally I looked up and yelled TRAV WERE SAVED. He didnt believe me he thought I was just seeing a mirage, also at this point he probably thought that I was a mirage. Thank sweet lord baby jesus that it wasn't actually a mirage, REAL life panga with two dapper gentlemen came and saved us. They refused to let us exchange currency for the saving of the lives. They dropped us off back at our boat and we sailed off towards (plot twist!) Japan. Where we became citizens. Amazing! The Veronica L is a 40 meter (120’) freighter that is sunk off of St. George’s and Port Louis, Grenada. She lies upright on the rocky bottom in approximately 16 meters (50’) of warm water. The sunken cargo ship’s hold is now empty, but the topsides are covered in beautiful coral growth fed by the area’s strong currents. It was an overcast and stormy morning, but ScubaTech’s Curtis (also a racing sailor like Sweet Ruca’s Curtis) and Bradley (the always smiling divemaster) once again put us spot on the Wreck in the challenging conditions. As we swim around, notice some quick shots of Mark (from SV MANA - sailingmana on YouTube) as well as Eveline, ScubaTech’s most awesome instructor and owner. Curtis dropped in negative first to catch Kate’s backroll boat entry from underwater. This wreck is abounding with sea life and can be safely penetrated, although it’s entrances and exists are a little tighter than others. On this visit we did not go deep into the stern. Thousands of tropical fish were everywhere: a barracuda gave us the stare down in the ships hold, a moray eel popped out from behind the ships rudder, bearded fire worms crawled around the ships crane, a couple of trumpet fish slinked along, we saw high hats and spotted drums, a school of brown chromis and creole wrasse surrounded Kate. My very first outing with "Mandatory Fun"--my 2010 Precision 18 sailboat. Learned a lot...including that I needed a mask track gate to keep my lower mainsail slugs from popping out. Pueblo Reservoir is Colorado's 6th largest lake and a popular sailing destination. Unlike many Colorado lakes, it does not freeze over in the winter and is open to boating year-round. The lake offers 2 marinas with boat ramps.

Episode #158 : Sailing Dreams : A Second Chance Hello Friends, This is the first episode in a mini-series we are doing titled "Sailing Dreams" that will follow us to the Pacific Northwest where we help our friend Tim "SIX" rebuild the mast step on his new 1981 Panda 40 "SV Decatur" Tim suffered a major heart attack in March of 2019 and was dead for 26 minutes. Luckily it happened at work in the Power Plant where he works as a Lead Control Operator and his plants emergency response team refused to give up blasting him with 6 AED's until they brought him back. He was airlifted to the hospital and underwent surgery. Tim followed our channel for sometime and became one of our Patrons on Patreon in April of 2019. Five months after his heart attack Tim visited Triteia in Los Angeles and we talked about diving, sailing and dreams. Fast Forward to April of 2020 and Tim, knowing life could be taken away at a moments notice, found his dream boat in Seattle. It was a 1981 Panda 40 that was stunningly beautiful and had been well cared for except that during the survey the surveyor found the mast step had completely failed and was crushed under the 500lb mast and rigging that had surely been tightened over the years to accommodate for the sinking mast. This mini series will show you our trip up and what we filmed of me rebuilding the mast step to get Tim sailing and moving forward with his dreams! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach in Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony with our 4 kids, just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. In this pandemic summer without ferry service to the most of the Boston Harbor Islands, the Islands are a great sailing destination, and a quiet place to spend a weekend. We have enjoyed many weekends over the summer and fall on BioTrek anchored near Peddocks Island to enjoy a rapid get-away from Charlestown marina where BioTrek has a summer dock. One storm blew over our anchorage while we were rafted to another catamaran, we dragged anchor close to a lee shore, and Pierre used the motors to keep us out of trouble. My niece Chrissy joins us for a trip to the Provincetown (P-Town). At the end we mention Pierre’s shoulder injury that has us reflecting on a change in plans. This episode depicts the birth of the TTYC or Two Titty Yacht Club, a sweet little spot on the beach at Double Breasted Cay that we end up spending a LOT of time at - Beginning in the early days of the Pandemic right on through the end of our Bahamas season. This sweet spot, built mostly from things found on the oceanside beach, would become a very meaningful place for us - One where we really got to know one another. In this episode, we show you a few of those highlights: An evening bonfire where we cook and share a meal together and then an afternoon of a little competitive fun where we participate in several activities under Ryan’s (an X navy special forces member) direction. Later on we continue work on the yacht club when the boys roll a large tree from one end of the beach over to the club where it’s destined to become a (semi) permanent fixture. When the TTYC was erected none of us knew at the time how special the spot would become. We had no idea we’d be anchored in Double Breasted for so long or that the island and anchorage would become places we would never forget. In this beautiful place, often at the TTYC, we would share and open up about ourselves, let loose, lend support, celebrate birthdays, hatch plans for expanding our mailboat orders, console each other and express our fears about the uncertainty felt during the dark days of the Pandemic, and eventually, it would even become a wedding reception (spoiler alert!). Also important in this episode is meeting the final members of the Covid Crew - Dustin & Brandon. Brandon comes to our rescue when our laptop dies and we stand to loose all of our computer files including the episodes we’re in the process of editing. Catamaran Javerne autour du monde, Cette semaine nous vous emmenons à la découverte de l'île de Wunga située à 9 miles de Afulu. D'après les vues aériennes, cette île possède un magnifique lagon, mais les cartes marines ne donnent aucune informations sur les profondeurs. L'île a subie un tremblement de terre il y a 20 ans, et son niveau a été relevé d'environ 3 mètres. Nous verrons donc lors de notre visite s'il est possible d'entrer dans le lagon. Puis nous partirons à TelukDalam, au sud de l'île de Nias, avec Our Reflection, jolie navigation de 60 miles, le tout sous spinnaker. According to aerial views, this island has a magnificent lagoon, but nautical charts do not give any information on the depths. The island suffered an earthquake 20 years ago, and its level was raised by about 3 meters. We will therefore see during our visit if it is possible to enter the lagoon. Then we will leave for TelukDalam, in the south of the island of Nias, with Our Reflection, a pretty 60 mile sailing, all under a spinnaker.
