The links and IP address shown in the video were only valid during the making of the video and are now void. I use no-ip in this video which a paid for service, however there is also a free option which needs to be refreshed every 30 days.

One year ago, right before the pandemic hit mankind, we spend the winter in Vilamoura Portugal. One of the difficult things in the sailing business is to find training partners. Unfortunately most of our training partners quit their Nacra 17 campaign after a few month of trying. Probably Nacra 17 sailing is a long and stony road and only few are tough enough, only few are brave enough to dare to take that risk. And unfortunately, if you ask me, good training partners are the key to success in sailing. But sometimes we where lucky. It happened that 2016 olympic gold medalist Igor Marenić also spend his winter training time in Vilamoura. Not to mention his two wold championship titles and 5! additional medals at world championships! All that lead to one of our greatest sailing experiences we ever had. We played out our strength, wich is our amazing upwind speed and we could built up our lead even if the maneuvers could have been better. A quick hoist and we were both on the downwind. Conditions where not easy but Igor managed to skim a bit better. So he was a little bit faster and could sail a better angle. We both missed the lower mark because training marks are way too small in choppy conditions. But racing on par is absolutely the most fun thing about sailing. Venice is eerily empty, both in the lagoon and the city. But we can still travel around and the best way to do that is by boat. Kayaking around the lagoon is something you simply must do, but in the city you need a Gondola, and that's a much more difficult prospect. We are lucky enough to be friends with Tommaso who is a master gondolier here in Venice and he took us out in an empty city. Venice is stunning at all times, but seeing it empty like this eerily beautiful. Of course it's very bad news for the local businesses though. Venice lives on its tourism and Covid has killed it. Pesca sub in barca a vela: finalmente ci siamo riusciti! La quarta settimana di navigazione è stata all'insegna della pesca, delle immersioni e dell'esplorazione. Abbiamo messo piede a terra una sera e il resto sempre rade. Insomma, un altro modo di vivere la barca. Con noi, questa settimana, hanno navigato Chiara e Gentile, detto Idde.
