En juillet 2020, nous avons fait la traversée de Martinique vers la Grenade. La traversée s’est déroulée de manière agréable et sans problèmes. Nous avons été surpris de la quantité de sargasses rencontrés lors de la traversée. C’est une vraie catastrophe car ils envahissent l’ensemble des Antilles et lorsqu’ils échouent ils dégagent un odeur insupportable et se décomposent en créant un gaz toxique. Pour notre première saison cyclonique dans les Antilles et avec les prévisions très pessimiste pour la saison nous voulions nous mettre à l’abri au sud. Notre 1ère destination était Tobago mais le Covid en a décidé autrement. En effet, Grenade, était à l’époque, un des rares pays acceptant les plaisanciers pour la saison cyclonique. L’organisation s’est très bien déroulée et c’est avec soulagement que nous sommes arrivés à St Georges, la capitale de la Grenade. Nous avons rencontré une population des plus aimables et un accueil chaleureux. Nous y avons passé 6 mois et avons été enchantés par ce petit pays.

We do a big food shop and track down a metal worker to help us fix our vang (that broke on our passage across from Sardinia). We fall in love with the city, the beauty of the architecture and the people we meet there. We tap and drill new holes in the mast for the fixed vang piece and once finished we sail down to the southern coast of the island - which is home to some of the most beautiful anchorages we’ve seen so far.
