This week we sail further into the Panama archipelago that is San Blas Islands, setting sail with our friends to another breath taking little island. Being totally off the grid is truly, amazing but we need internet to be able to upload these videos for you guys so we sailed to Green Island and an internet connection. We share with you our anchoring techniques, the failure and ultimately Kieran-to-the-rescue anchor setting (our anchor is terrible). I get scared when having a swim, due to the crocodile warning I got from our friends in the area (!!). I was unwilling to swim with them, however I did want to see them (from the comfort of our dinghy that being said) so we set out looking for them with our friends Magnus and Sandra... We ended up finding one of the things we were looking for. And I with a little help from a friend succeeded in my first hunt. Last week we finished installing our Hydrovane and immediately wanted to test it out. So we pulled up anchor and hoisted our sails for a trip to Tintamarre, an island to the north of St Martin. Having been on anchor for a few weeks waiting for bad weather to pass, we were very excited to head off and use our Hydrovane for the first time. Initial impressions were fantastic and supported the need for us to be GOOD sailors first and know how to balance the sails and the boat well. For Adam, he aims to do this on most sails. For Khiara... I let him do it all! Which means I have a bit of a learning curve to face and a need to pay more attention in future! Episode #180 - New Head Plumbing and Manual Black Water Pump Hello Friends, This is a throwback project video from the summer of 2020 when we started the massive project of redesigning and rebuilding our head. On this episode I get into figuring out how to fit all of the plumbing into the small space in our tiny head. On AMAZING upgrade (a downgrade to most people) is I removed our working electronic macerator pump and replaced it with a Whale Pumps manual black water diaphragm pump. This allows us to pump out our holding tank at sea without using any electricity and removes the fear of the macerator pump failing when the tank is full (they tend to only last a few years with regular use) This video is for anyone trying to figure out how its possible to fit all the fittings into a small spot. In this week's episode we're in Jersey in the Channel Islands- but we don't get to see much of it, as we're asked to quarantine onboard for a week. The lovely new batteries finally turn up, so we do a full battery installation and also upgrade our alternator, pulley's and belts to match the power. It all takes quite a bit of programming and general messing about! We are itching to go sailing but we keep being delayed, just as we think we are nearly ready to go I find out my windlass is in a seriously bad state, so here we are tackling a Windlass service, possible rebuild! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. #91 Les îles de Goiymaru & Vinanciy Faru - Maldives Une nouvelle semaine, des nouvelles îles ! De la navigation de nuit, quelques grains violents ou pas, du shopping à Hulumalé. Nous sommes toujours enchantés de découvrir ces petites îles inhabitées, avec le sable blanc, et les superbes récifs de corail, remplis de poissons multicolores. Comme la météo n'est pas toujours belle, nous aurons du compter avec quelques grains violents qui nous ont empêchés d'atteindre la destination prévue avant la nuit, donc, une jolie navigation de nuit tout tranquille pour atteindre Hulumalé au matin. Donc, promenade en kayak, natation, pêche sous-marine, et des siestes à rallonge. Et toujours de l'humour et de la gaîté à bord. Passez une excellente semaine.

Eine kurze Nacht auf Læsø und schon ging es weiter Richtung Süden. Eigentlich hatten wir geplant Jütland anzulaufen und in Hals fest zu machen, aber es war kräftiger Westwind angesagt und nach dem Crewausfall am Vortag stand uns der Sinn so gar nicht danach gegenan zu metern. Also steckten wir einen neuen Kurs ab und segelten zum zweiten Mal in diesem Urlaub Richtung Anholt - wo wir ja beim ersten Mal schon kürzer waren als eigentlich geplant. Zunächst Stand aber Manövertraining für unsere Crew auf dem Programm. Jessie war an der Reihe abzulegen und das erste Mal auf der Stelle im Hafenbecken zu drehen... und das mit unserem schweren Pott bei Wind! Aber da ja der Kurs zum Sportbootführerschein schon geplant war, musste etwas Praxis am Ruder her! Aus dem versprochenen Westwind wurde dann aber auch nicht so richtig was als wir erstmal aus dem Hafen waren und so dümpelten wir beinahe bei Flaute nach Anholt. Auf dem Weg ließen wir den Pinnenpiloten steuern und vertrieben uns die Zeit beim Kartenspiel.
