Nous faisons escale à Malaga sur la route de Gibraltar où nous alternons mouillages et amarrages au port commercial. Dans les deux cas, les conditions ne sont pas optimales avec des vents soutenus et de la houle qui ne ménage pas le bateau. Nous restons en veille permanente pour ne pas qu'il frappe contre le quai en béton au port, ou qu'il décroche sur les cailloux lorsque nous sommes à l'ancre. Bref, une escale pas très reposante, même si nous pouvons profiter quand même un peu de la ville juste avant de partir pour Gibraltar. The best stop for provisions is Spanish Wells in Eleuthera. It has a well stocked grocery store and a colourful little town with a post office, restaurants, gift stores and a bit of everything. Even though what we came to Spanish Wells for didn't quite work we made the most of it. We spent quite a few days between Spanish Wells and Meeks Patch Island closeby. Between enjoying the little town to drinking coconuts on the beach, finding little pigs, kiting or circumnavigating the island we do it all. Filmed April 2021. Avoiding heavy weather - Our longest ever Pacific Voyage - Marshall Islands to Fiji. This week we are travelling in one of the remotest parts of the Pacific Ocean- Between the Kiribati group and Tuvalu. With heavy weather forecast for our approach to Fiji we slow down and heave to while waiting for the weather to pass. In the meantime we are kept very busy with squalls and avoiding a large number of fishing vessels. We leave Portland Roads and get ready for three ‘big’ days of sailing on our way to Seisha. The gearbox is failing, yet again, so we are gingerly making our way, using the wind as much as possible. Magnus has a chat about the Raspberry Pi which he has been learning about for quite some time now. He also goes into great depth about navigation, how it has changed over the years and what systems we use on Nutshell to stay safe and to know where we are. The available facilities are great but the discarded aluminium cans and rubbish are a little upsetting. We then plan our sailing route for the next few days. After a few sailing days we eventually end up at Portland Roads and head to the famous cafe to sample coffee and cake, but alas, it’s closed! A winter sail from Bodrum in Turkey to Kos Island, Greece. It was cold enough for snow on the hills, but a lovely sail none the less. But perhaps the biggest news in this episode is we have finally fitted our water maker. We took a long time to choose the right one and we are very happy to now have our Spectra Ventura 200 R-T fitted and ready for use. There will be a tech video that goes into all the research we did on choosing our water maker, as well as the fitting and operation out in a couple of weeks. After a little start regatta we join a group of 9 Outremers on a trip to Los Roques, an archipelago of Venezuelean islands where only a few yachts set sail to nowadays. Just before the start the Outremer 55 was announced as the winner in bluewater cruising at the leading European Yacht of the Year elections.

Just over a year ago, our dream to live on a boat and sail around the world became a reality when we moved aboard our new Seawind 1600 catamaran. It hasn’t been without challenges, getting caught in storms, boat repairs, and learning to be self-sufficient. However we feel alive, and the most valuable resource we have in this world is time.
