Another cruise through picture post card Fiji, so alone we feel like we have the country to ourselves, this week we stumble upon one of our new favourite places in Fiji.. Yadua. Mostly half asleep from a bad nights sleep and the accumulation of all the sails we've been doing, we decide to abandon our long 60Nm sail to the Yasawa Group and take a couple days in a backup anchorage near by. Little did we know that we had stumbled into one of the more premier spots of Fiji told to us by some long term Fiji sailors. We explore the beach and also dive the magnificent reef system only to loose our GoPro due to getting huge amounts of water damage. Join our crew! I'm so sad!!! My tender died...... a very slow and dragged out death!! We tried (for years) to patch her up and save her but eventually it was to much and she's now gone forever 🥲😂 there wasn't enough sticky glue on the planet which could fix her this time!! We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. Quelques épisodes d'entretien du bateau : grattage de la coque, vidange des moteurs, changement des écoutes de voiles,... et en particulier, le changement d'ancre suite à plusieurs dérapages au mouillage. Nous estimons que l'ancre qui nous a été conseillée est trop légère, surtout quand le bateau est très chargé, et nous optons pour une ancre de taille supérieure ! On verra bien par la suite si elle tient mieux lors de rafales au mouillage !!!!

Nous sommes au large, c' est le soir, le vent souffle dans le génois et le Rerioa surfe sur les vagues en direction de Lanzarote. Je n' arrive pas à fermer l' œil, ça tangue trop ! le vent qui s' engouffre dans la voile fait un bruit énorme, des objets tombent à l' intérieur , ça bouge vraiment trop ! Cela fait 6 nuits que l' on ne dort pratiquement pas , nous sommes secoués comme des bouteilles d' orangina ou comme dans le tambour d' une machine à laver à l' essorage !

Durant la navigation en direction de Puerto Vellero, le gouvernail du voilier de notre ami Jay a brisé, il s’est pris un filet de pêche dans l’hélice et il a malheureusement échoué son voilier sur la côte Colombienne. Le lendemain de l’échouage, on retourne voir le voilier, il est déjà enseveli dans le sable et les vagues nous empêchent d’entrer et de récupérer quoi que ce soit du voilier. L’Armada vient chercher Jérémie et on obtient finalement l’autorisation de quitter la rivière brune. C’est avec la peur au ventre qu’on retourne affronter l’océan qui a échoué le voilier de notre ami. On laisse ensuite Jérémie vous raconter l’échouage en détail ; qu’est-ce qu’il s’est passé durant sa journée de cauchemar, qu’est-ce qu’il a mis dans son sac de survie, qu’est-ce qu’il envisage pour l’avenir et plus encore. We finally leave Cape Town after spending 18 months getting Avanti ready for our circumnavigation. With abnormal weather patterns we sail more to the West than the normal route to our first stop, St Helena Island. We quickly get into a routine of cooking, eating, sleeping, being on watch and washing out of a bucket. We eat like kings and savour some amazing sunrises, but what blocked our heads?

In diesem Video zeigen wir Euch die erste Zeit nach 27 Tagen auf dem Meer, wandern auf Martinique mit der tollen Crew und unseren Freunden der Allonzee sowie unserem ersten Segeltörn nach Bequia (St. Vincent und die Grenadinen). Dabei haben wir einen schlafenden Pottwal gesehen! Das war unglaublich spannend, hat aber auch gezeigt, weshalb man immer wachsam beim Segeln sein sollte. Wir haben gelesen, dass aufgrund von Corona und des fehlenden Whalewatching Tourismus, sich die Pottwale wieder vermehrt an die Küste trauen. Dadurch, dass wir unter Segeln waren, ist der Wal nicht wach geworden. Jetzt sind wir im Paradies angekommen und machen gefühlt das erste Mal richtig Urlaub und kommen runter. A lot has happened in the last almost 2 years. It is hard to put into words how much work this has been. It's amazing and hard. Exhausting and rewarding. Horrible and wonderful 😂 The yin and yang of life. While we haven't updated since first getting Sarah G, we have been taking footage here and there when possible! Fixing this boat, sailing and homeschooling the kids takes a lot of time, but we finally have been able to sit down and start going through the footage of this process, and we cannot wait to show it to you all. Thank you to everyone who has been asking us about our videos- knowing there are so many people out there that want to see our journey and have been there to support this wild dream is the only reason we kept picking up the camera. It's been a long ride these past 2 years and it is only continuing! In fact, the journey is just starting, and we don't think you will be let down.

Ab jetzt kann die Reise wieder weitergehen. Der verschollene Reisepass ist angekommen und wir können fast schon aufbrechen nach Indonesien. Heute haben wir aber erstmal noch einen sehr verschmutzten Strand gefunden. JA! Auch hier in der Südsee findet man an fast jedem Strand Haufen von Müll. Nach unserem kleinen Clean-Up sah das alles schon besser aus.
