We finally leave Cape Town after spending 18 months getting Avanti ready for our circumnavigation. With abnormal weather patterns we sail more to the West than the normal route to our first stop, St Helena Island. We quickly get into a routine of cooking, eating, sleeping, being on watch and washing out of a bucket. We eat like kings and savour some amazing sunrises, but what blocked our heads?
