Welcome to my new home! This is a tour of my secondhand narrowboat, right at the beginning of our life together. This is the first time onboard after buying my narrowboat, Ganymede, yesterday. I've made no alterations yet and have only brought a few bits onboard so far (brew kit!). I have no posh camera equipment and I'm doing everything on my phone at the mo, so apologies for the shaky footage!

So the first job on narrowboat Ganymede was to set up the Thetford cassette toilet! Ganymede originally had a pump out toilet, but this was removed by the previous owners. They then left me this new Thetford, taking their old one with them. I know the principle but have never set one up before. Should be easy right?

We just couldn't get enough of the hot air balloon views each morning in Cappadocia so we watched them one last time before heading to check out a famous underground city called Kaymakli Underground city, which is one of many discovered and undiscovered underground cities. This place was super interesting to learn about. Then we were off to spend a few days learning to Snow board at the near by Mountain, Mount Erciyes. It was extremely cheap to hire all the gear including pants and jackets and also the lift passes, we think this could be the cheapest place to ski and snowboard in the world?! One tank scuba dive at Gardner bay on an Espanola Island day trip in september 2021. Three small caves to be explored, some seastars and two turtles. Quite cold and not much to be seen (in terms of Galapagos-diving) - except s whole colony of playful sea lions that were accompaniing us throughout the dive. Still, even there you can see seals tangling in fishing-rods and we also did some small ocean cleanup, as guide Mike found some trash (probably from a fishing net) the week before, that we collected in the end of the dive.

Well, we have come to one of our last Welsh adventures and we decided to go today to two places which we have always wanted to visit- Dalis Hole and Llyn Glas. However, this day, we learnt the hard lesson of when to turn back. With a combination of lose rocks, rain, cloud (and snow up high!), we learnt the invaluable lesson of when to stop striving for that view/peak/summit/crux that you have been dreaming about, and instead focus on the reality of potentially not being able to adventure ever again if we were to continue on. Despite this, we have an EPIC time at Dalis Hole (well worth a visit!) and in Snowdonia National Park. Enjoy the vid! After more than a year of research we now have a water maker on board Fair Isle. It was the biggest omission in our initial refit five years ago in Holland, but in a way we're glad we took the time to find the right model. If I had fitted one when we first bought Fair isle I might have gone for an AC unit, which would have been a big mistake, and I really had no idea about the huge range in quality with water makers. There are a few things in life where you get what you pay for and I believe water-makers are a prime example of that. It would be very tempting to go for a cheaper model than the top brands, but from the research I've done it seems the reason water-makers get a bad press is that there are many inferior models out there which just aren't fit for purpose. We have yet to test this model long term of course so it will be interesting to see if we feel the same way going forward, but so far so good, we are very happy with our Spectra. We met in the summer 2015, we were introduced to each other by the virtual world. Eighteen months later we were getting married on a beautiful beach on Barbados, bare foot, very simple ceremony just like a dream! Two days after the wedding laying on the beach, talking about sailing, Carla suggested... why don't we sail around the world? Guess what Simon said? "Let's do it" He took it with no second thoughts! And here we are, two years after that day in Barbados, we started our adventure in Croatia. We made it happen working through all the challenges on the way. Now we are enjoying this wonderful life, and what a wonderful life it is! As we travel we will cross less fortunate countries, we would love to help to build a school or a health care centre, anything that these people may need, and in our beautiful world this is taken for granted. But for these people it's a dream, or may not even be a dream. We will look around and when the opportunity to help comes we will put our hands and hearts in to it.

In this episode, Koro Vita continues east from Savusavu along the south coast of Vanua Levu. The crew does nice dive along a part of the Rainbow Reef, where they see lots of fish, coral, turtles and sharks. The reef in this particular area looks like it has experienced some mechanical damage from earlier storms, but there's lots of evidence of reef recovery and growth. We sail to the Viani Bay area where we are met by Rob and Michelle of Ventana. Rob joins us for a fast drift dive in the channel. We end up drifting to a spot where the current is RIPPING over the top of the reef and pushing down to backfill the space behind it. We found this strong vertical current vector pushing against us, trying to push us down deeper, so we cancel the dive at that point and return to the surface. Even though we cut the dive short we covered a lot of ground and got to see a lot of the reef! After sailing to an anchorage off Qamea Island, we dinghy over to Taveuni with Rob and Michelle, and do a fantastic hike up the 3 Tavoro waterfalls, with a friendly black dog as our tour guide.
