Some sailing days are just near perfect. After a short but beautiful stop at Picnic Bay on Magnetic Island we’re up before dawn to sail ‘Our Dreamtime’, a Whitby 42 ketch, 70 nautical miles further south through Australia’s Great Barrier Reef to Cape Upstart. The sun, wind and water combine to provide ideal sailing conditions and the fish are on the bite. Six good hook-ups filled our fridge and freezer despite a couple being released as undersize and, of course, the huge one that got away. In the ‘Our Galley’ segment Karen shows how she very easily turns often unloved Mac Tuna into an absolutely mouth watering dish. This is a video of Luther and I attempting to race in the 2022 Single Handed Sailing Societies Three Bridge Fiasco on our Mini Transat 6.50 in there double handed division. The race starts on the San Francisco City Front and then you have to round Blackaller Bouy (Close to the Golden Gate Bridge), Treasure Island (Bay Bridge goes through the island) and Red Rock (Close to the Richmond Bridge). You can round them in any order and in any direction. 303 boats started this years race.

The answer is more fiberglass work! So the weather finally cooperated enough for us to get some more fiberglass work done and finish installing the handle on the companionway hatch, but most importantly we were able to fix and reinstall the freshwater deck fill plate and the new water intake hose for our new Vetus bladder fresh water tank. We are overhauling our Freshwater System from the Deck down. It was interesting to see what was behind those facia panels that hide the hull. If you like our videos, please subscribe to our channel. We are really excited! Our new Beckson Portlights and Deadlights have just arrived. These are a direct replacement for our current windows on Reverie and they are reasonably priced. These portlights come in pairs and in two versions: 1. Straight Deadlight - Does not Open 2. Deadlight with integrated Portlight and Screen. A deadlight is a window that does not open. A Portlight is a window that opens. Just FYI. These are very nice windows and I can’t wait to install them! But until I do, here is the unboxing of the new arrival. Our sea trial got off to a hot start with sporty trade wind conditions. Then, I went to check the engine -- to see if our oil leak repair was working -- and that's when I noticed water spurting in through the dripless shaft seal! But I stayed cool, didn't panic, managed the problem, and we soon got settled in a beautiful new anchorage. Obviously, it's unsettling to have water coming in the boat when the engine runs but we reckon it'll be alright as long as we sail 🤔 anyway - watch the episode and let me know what you think. We help new sailors and Lagoon 440 owners tow their catamaran from the Dutch Caribbean island of St. Maarten to the French island of Saint Martin. Their catamaran has no auxiliary power, meaning it has no engines. We go through shallow spots, dodge ship wrecks and use small inflatable dinghies to tow their vessel through a causeway bridge, shallows, and dodge ship wrecks before they tie up to a dock in the boat yard. This was a case of new and inexperienced sailors putting their trust in professionals in the marine industry facilitated a the tow of the engine-less sailing catamaran in order for the professionals to complete a job they had already started. We decided to test the tyre pressure on the beach to see how much we need to air down and how long it takes. The truck drives so easy on the beach without the van on the back. ISUZU FTS fire truck

After leaving Broome, we head west crossing the huge 80 mile beach, stopping along the way where we try unsuccessfully to take the tender to shore. Chris is finally able to swim in the crocodile free water and clean the hulls where he spots a live bailer shell crawling along the bottom. Continuing west we pass Port Headland and the many ships waiting to load, racing to cross the channel before one bears down on us. We see the dark volcanic Depuch Island and pull in behind West Moore Island where we once again find the charts completely inaccurate. Checking into Isla Tigre (Tiger Island) was surprisingly straightforward, cheap and a very friendly experience. Together with our buddy boat, Boundless, we were only the second and third boat to check into the tiny port that year! Despite a painless arrival though, trouble was brewing as the furious Papagayo winds started strengthening to the north of us, leaving us on an exposed shore with building swell! Op La Gomera maken we de start van de Atlantic Challenge mee. Een roeiwedstrijd over de Atlantische Oceaan van 3000nm ofwel 4800km naar Antigua in de Carieb. We maken mooie (drone-)beelden die we delen met diverse persteams die aanwezig zijn. Hans van Veen komt aan boord om de watermaker op te starten... dus niet. De installatie is niet helemaal in orde en er moet nog geklust worden om dat allemaal te fixen. Op La Gomera maken we ook een paar stevige wandelingen. Dan is het tijd om weer door te gaan en we vertrekken naar Tenerife. Onderweg zien we grienden en jagende tonijnen. Wat een prachtig gezicht! Anita komt met tassen vol met reserve onderdelen, dus we kunnen weer aan de slag. Jarenlang heb ik ervan gedroomd om zeilend te gaan waar de wind me brengt. In 2020 was het dan eindelijk zover en heb ik samen met Felia een prachtige reis gemaakt naar Scandinavië en de Baltische staten. Onze Eva, een Atlantic 43 uit 2007, is een aluminium zeiljacht met hefkiel en gebouwd en uitgerust voor reizen naar plaatsen die net achter de horizon liggen. Vanaf 2021 vaar ik met wisselende bemanning zuidwaarts. Ik vind het leuk om onze avonturen met jullie te delen. #아라마리나 #요트 #sailing #세일링 #K36 2022.04.14~04.17 K36으로 킬보트 심화 교육 진행 *** 제가 배 안에서 영상을 찍을 때 우연히 남편이 배 밖에서 영상을 찍었네요^^ 자연스럽게 교차편집하고, 배 안의 상황과 배 밖의 상황을 같이 보여 줄 수 있게 되어서 무한 기쁩니다. *** 4일간 요트면허 소지자를 대상으로, 아라마리나 해양아카데미에서 진행된 "킬보트 심화 교육"에 코치로 참여했습니다. 정말 다양한 연령과 분야의 사람들이 모여 함께 세일링을 하면서 팀으로써 하나가 되는 모습을 보았습니다. 킬보트 세일링의 매력을 한 번 더 느낍니다. 긍정적이고 열정적인 교육생들을 만나서 저도 몸은 힘들었지만, 마음은 힘을 얻었던 교육이었습니다. 영상 보면서 복습하기~^^ 모두 수고많으셨습니다.
